Sunstone     It's not too long after helping Garnet escape from the Homeworld Gems that Sunstone, roaming as endlessly as she is, stops at a spot where she can rest. She doesn't often stop off at any Union bases, and so that means she would've stopped at the edge of an old ghost town of stone buildings out in the middle of the Great Mountains. It's a lush area, and a fair bit warmer than the area where Garnet fell from the sky.

Sunstone climbs out of the hover vehicle after a long, silent drive. The smiling gem isn't the most talkative one in the world, either, and has mercifully avoided bombarding Garnet with any questions. It's clear she /is/ a Gem, by the generally... brown to bright orange shades and the gemstone embedded in her solar plexus. She lets out a sigh, and unpowers the hover vehicle so it can recharge, a solar panel unfolding from the rear cargo box.

"You know," she mentions, "You're actually the first Gem out here that isn't either my mortal enemy, some kind of complex weirdo, or an insane monster. And Jasper was shouting about you being a fusion, earlier... You're more stable than any other fusion I've seen by far." Some observations, in her perky voice. She tries to think of a question to ask to Garnet, putting her hand to one side her face, her metallic glove rubbing at her gemlight skin.

    She looks like she's uncertain.
Garnet     For her part Garnet seemed to pass the ride in silence, not offering any conversation but at least replying when spoken to. She watches the vast stretches of mountain and valley go by as the hover vehicle speeds along its way. As they come to a stop at the old ghost town, Garnet scans the entire area in case anything dangerous might decide to pop out.

It might strike Sunstone as odd just how comfortable Garnet is in her presence, she doesn't seem to be on guard agaisnt the smaller Gem at all. Which might clash a bit with the odd sense of readiness Garnet gives off, well most warrior Gems probably give off that same vibe. She gives the hover vehicle a once over now that they're stopped, "Little bit old aren't you?" She gives the vehicle a gentle pat before stepping towads the town.

Garnet nods at Sunstone's comment before she turns, "Not many non Homeworld Gems around then?" Apparently she doesn't have a high opinion of those loyal to Homeworld, "I am." She slides her visor down so Sunstone can see her three eyes before pushing them back up, "I've been Garnet for a very long time now." She tilts her head, "Not used to fusions?"

She finds a wall and leans against it, "You're not with Homeworld, but you're not a Crystal Ge....you weren't part of Rose's Rebellion either." Garnet lets the question hang unasked.
Sunstone     Considering how Sunstone helped Garnet escape, she didn't overthink Garnet's comfort. The shiny Gem began checking her hover vehicle for dents, scratches and other forms of damage while Garnet replies. The question about how used to fusions she is gets a reflexive "Hmm" of thought. She only speaks up again when she's determined she doesn't need to break out her tools. She smiles over at Garnet and tells her, "I heard of it."

"I decided to rebel against Homeworld not long after that, but for different reasons. I just lost a taste for Homeworld's methods. It ended up with my gem getting pinned between a fallen warship and the sea floor of the world I was on. The pressure kept me trapped for a while, and when I woke up, miraculously intact..." She shrugs. "I didn't have the support you all did in the first place. I was stuck on that world until I unified..."

She quirks a corner of her mouth. "Speaking of which, you're in a place called the Multiverse now. We all are. Homeworld, your world, and countless others, mashed together into this impossible area with whole planets stretched out over the surface of a huge mega planet, with pockets of void in-between... and a lot of insane phenomena here and there."
Garnet     Garnet continues to lean on the wall and watches as Sunstone checks the hover vehicle for any serious damage. She nods in reply again to Sunstone saying she'd heard of it. She then listens as the more radiant Gem briefly explains her situation.

"Homeworld has a lot of problems. All of them need fixing." She lets a small smile play on her lips for a moment, "Lucky you made it, otherwise I might not've gotten away today." She then shakes her head rasing an eyebrow at the word 'unified' before she speaks, "Even with support it wasn't easy." She looks up at the sky for a moment, "Only four of us left."

"Got a pretty good view from up there." Garnet points at the sky before she frowns just slightly, "But it sounds like it'll take me a while to find the others." Her tone more resigned than anything else as she says that. She also notes to herself she has a lot to learn about the Multiverse before she continues, "So who are the Confederacy?" Clearly someone had remembered Peridot's threat of reporting.
Sunstone     "The Confederacy is a large and malicious organization composed of innumerable worlds, geared toward the conquering of other worlds and the forceful seizure of the warp-gate network, the main form of travel in this huge weird place," Sunstone begins, "While the Union, the organization that I am apart of, is more concerned with keeping worlds intact and functional and preventing organizations like the Confederacy from conquering worlds. You could say that the Crystal Gems would've fit right in with the Union, while Homeworld's methods are perfect for the Confederacy."

She makes expressive hand-gestures while she talks, and then caps it off with, "The others are probably going to show up sooner rather than later. If you're here, they're here. Somewhere. And people that unify together tend to end up in the same sector."
Garnet     Garnet takes it all in without a word though the occasional nod shows she's very much listening. "How much support do they give?" Whether she's asking about the Union for herself or asking about the Confederacy and the Homeworld trio is unclear. "What do I have to do to join?"

Garnet seems thoughtful for a moment as though she's considering what Sunstone just said in depth, "You're probably right." She folds her arms across her chest, "Anything else important to know?"

She hopes they find them sooner rather than later but she doesn't let any of her concern show, "Do you know what the Homeworld Gems are planning?"
