Nightblind     STONEGATE CITY -- the Warf District, Old Town.

There's a cry for help that went through on local bands, a man is careening down an alleyway, looking over his shoulder. He cries out for help. He swears and curses, tripping over a knocked-over pallet as he bursts out of the alley and onto the flickering light of the main warf lot.

It's a wide open space here.
He turns. His hand is bleeding where a long laceration was opened across the back of his hand. His eyes search the alleyway, and then draw up to the rooftops.

"I didn't do nothin'!" he calls out. "/Why/ are you chasing me?!"
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis is here, exploring the area, as things have changed since his last time here. As he was walking, he heard the call for help and took off running as he looks down an alleyway and thinks as he moves onward a block over and heads down another alleyway to meet up with the man. As he heads down the alley, he slows and stops to see what is going on and starts to remove his shirt.
Nightblind     There's the soft whisper of an arrow splitting the air, and it embeds itself in the gravel at the man's feet. A shape can be made out against the dim lights of the rooftop of a nearby warehouse, a hooded shape, bow up, arrow drawn. No beard though.

"Your name is Arnold Jasper, but you go by Adam Jade when you peddle your wares around highschools and college campuses." comes a slithery voice, echoing slightly. A vocal manipulator? "You work for the Wengdal family out of Warf 15, where you were going to turn in your cash and get your cut of the profits. You're not my prey tonight, but you know how to get to her."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis blinks as he hears this and ponders something as he pulls the cowl over his head and finishes removing his cloths. Putting them in a compartment, he jumps and activates the cloaking ability of his suit and lands on the roof and watches as he listens to what is going on.
Nightblind     "Ah... you... know all that?" The man appears nervous. He fiddles his hands, and hisses when his fingers touch the long laceration, blood trailing down the back of his hand.

And he speaks up "Look, I'll... I'll give you what you want. Money. Drugs. I'll give you the damn password to my credit card account, but if I were to give her up, she'd have me /killed/. Like, they wouldn't even find the /body/ man!" he panics.

The figure on the rooftop, in spite of the body armor, is feminine. Tall, lean, gray hood drawn down over her eyes, making /seeing/ problematic if Terry's paying attention.

She breathes out, and looses another arrow.

This one pierces the hood's foot, passing right through, pinning him to the gravel. His screams split the night, but other than the distant sound of sirens going /away/ from the locale, there doesn't seem to be any response or concern.

"Your bad deals resulted in the death of a college student. You're a wanted man on both sides, Arnold."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis listens in as he moves closer and quietly, . o 0 (Sounds like a few people from the old man's days.) he thinks as he stops and listens and looks at the man who just got shot, . o 0 (That will leave a mark.) as he stops and listens, not far behind the archer. . o 0 (If this creep did that, then finding out who is behind it might be good and some help is always welcomed.)
Nightblind     She pauses. Her head cants to the side slightly, and a very different voice, very softly inquires "Weird fluctuations? ... keep on it, Mackenzie. Let me know if something shows up -- I've got to finish this first -- go ahead and let the ambulence know that Jasper's down here." before the arrow is nocked, and drawn back, the figure taking careful aim at the man's middle section. The slithery voice returns.

    "Time is running out, Arnold..."

And the man screams. "OKAY! OKAY! The overseer is /Eliza Button/ and she works for the family too! She runs an office on the north end with a front for real estate, but I swear to /god/ that's all I know! /Please/ don't kill me!"

Sirens split the night again, this time coming closer. A mix of the panicked sound of medics and the commanding wail of police.

"Oh, oh thank God..." the man whimpers, and collapses, his foot still stuck in the gravel.

And Nightblind, satisfied with the information, turns suddenly, and goes to take off running along the rooftop.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis arches an eyebrow at this and thinks as he follows the figure and has no idea who the person is. Moving along, Terry can keep up witht he figure and does so, and looks over his shoulder then back as he jumps from one building to another but says nothing as he keeps up. . o 0 (Hell of a runner.)
Nightblind     The police come first, and as they do, the arrows are left behind -- a trademark. They scratch their heads. The police scanner talk about the vigilante striking again, and poor ol' Jade was finally ID'd and was willing to talk as long as they keep him sae in jail.

The vigilante, however, moves along, but can be heard talking over a com link. "North side. Do a search for Eliza Button. Cross-reference Elizabeth Button. Real estate may be linked to March's coffers, we'll have to take our time and get some recon down... no, Chinese? This late? Ugh. What I want is a large, black coffee and a nap." she pauses, stopping, looking out over the city streets. They light up the shadow beneath the hood for a moment, and the soft glow of a very, very dark violet LED can be seen.

"... you mean it's still on your monitor?"
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis slows as he listens, "Sounds like you have an interesting conversation going on," he states as thinks before the cloak drops. and he stands there.
Nightblind     "Wouldn't you know it, I hate evesdroppers. But considering you haven't tried attacking me, I'm going to guess that you're one of the 'good guys'." she venturs, and Nightblind turns to face him, but she doesn't look /at/ him. She looks through him. She squares her stance. "I don't beleive I've had the pleasure of another vigilante in my city."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis notes this as he stands there, "Depends on the situation," he states simply as he studies her, then walks forward. "Batman," is all he says.
Nightblind     "Nightblind." she replies. Her head tilts a moment, listening to whoever is on the other end, and she finally slips her bow back into her quiver. "Union?" she questions curiously, appraising Batman -- reading him over with her visor, storing the information, examinig him closer now that the cloaking isn't confusing Echo. Long ears on the cowl, no cape.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis stops about ten feet from her. "Last I checked," he mentions as he observes to bow. "Care to talk about what I saw back there," he asks as he gestures with his head.
Nightblind     "Mmn." she considers a moment, and turns her back to him.

"Drugdealer. Involved with a manslaughter case, wanted on both sides because of it. I saved his life and got the information I wanted." she explains. "You're a bit far from home, aren't you? What brings you out this way?" she questions.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis walks up next to her, "Seeing more of the Multiverse," he states simply as he looks. "Plus, never know when someone will need help," he adds as he leaves it open ended. " and he thinks as he listens to his own communicator. "Yo udo know that there are other ways to gain information then with an arros into a persons foot."
Nightblind     "I could slink around in shadows and follow girls around work." she counters, but there's a playful note in the voice as she turns to look through him again. "... but when a crime syndicate has its hits out on the one you're chasing, you have to improvise. He'll be taken care of in the barracks hospital; it's secure and there's plenty of video footage. He'll be sent on to a penetentary outside the city, since no one likes informants. Like I said... I saved his life. A little foot pain is something he'll get over." she points out.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and smirks as she talks, "The shadows are an area I am very familiar with," he mentions to here. "But you do have a point, although wouldn't an arrow that wraps up a person work just as well?" he asks.
Nightblind     "My tech is a little specialized at the moment." Nightblind replies, but the vvoice isn't unfriendly. She turns back to the stret, watching the people go about their evening. Lives she could never lead. "Though I'll concede the point. It does seem cruel." she gives a small shrug o her shoulders. "I'll get development right on that."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and blinks, "Tech is not that different then mine, whent he first batsuit was made. This suit is at least 40 years old, but still high tech," he comments. "a timer of sometype set in the tip or proximity trigger that deploys say a net or a bolo." he mentions to her.
Nightblind     "I have no idea what your world's tech is like." Nightblind points out. "Tech in my world might be vastly different. I mean, in the Union, we have knights from the Round Table and then we have giant sentient robots from outer space waging a galactic civil war against themselves. Tech varies so wildly..." she states, and she glances out over the city again. A car peels off into trafic. Horns blow. In the distance, a siren wails out.
"... I mean, you could have flying cars and brain transfers and technology to let the blind see, and we're just /now/ beginnig to unlock the potential of biotechnology."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and nods, "In Gothom City... well, the world I am from, we have hover vehicles, anti-gravity games but still the same old tech, cars, bikes. Depends on who you are. Some are working on that, but they are still in the experimental stage. Someone was able to clone a body for an old villian of mine, but the body started to fail due to the original's dna being altered and he had to return to a special suit to survive. We have tech that can create a shield to protect those who have no immune system, but nothing beyond that," he mentions as he thinks and hits a button on his belt.

A vehicle appears and, "Wanna go for a ride on a hover vehicle?" he asks her as the vehicle, the Batmobile lands on the roof
Nightblind     She looks at the strange vehicle as it makes its appearance, and she gives a wry grin as she steps over, and appears to give a curious look, leaning over a moment as she appraises its appearnce, and then Nightblind tilts back on her heels a moment, turning and looking through Batman.
"My father always warned me not to get into cars with strange men." she offers as a joke.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis chuckling, he walks over and the hatch opens up. "It's a tight fit, as it is designed for a single person, but there is enough for a second to stand or squat behind he seat," he states as he steps up on it and offers a hand, "Here, let me help you in," he states to her.
Nightblind     "You're not going to start singing Disney Songs about non-violent crimefighting tactics, are you? Because if you are, I might have to jump out midway...." Nightblind laughs, and then she rubs the back of her neck. "As... gentlemanly and I'm sure altruistic as you may seem, Batman.... /I/ still have some investigating to do tonight. Think I could catch a ride to the North End?"
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods, "Sure," he says. "And if you are free, maybe we can get together and talk more, it's nice to talk to someone who is similar to me and what I do," he mentions to her. "Who knows, may get to meet each out out o our outfits," he adds as the hatch closes and he sits down. The Batmobile powers up and hovers as Terry manuvers the vehicle to the North End. "Any specific location?" he asks her.
Nightblind     "I... don't think we're similar. As far as my world goes, I seem to be pretty unique." Nightblind slips in, and crouches, compact behind the seat. "You're going to want to head North, follow this main thoroughfare northward, and take a left before you hit the bridge." she gives direction.

On theo ther hand... now she can't see the outside world.

'Ella? Ella are you there? Your read's gone weirdly dark... you're.. not picking up that boy are you? Oh my god do you suddenly have a crush? Are you getting into a weird car? He better not have offered you candy or a puppy!' comes a voice in her ear, and she raises her wrist, and brushes her finger until she finds the little Braille button for 'I'm OK, standby.'
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods as he angles the Batmobile and stops along a building and lands as the hatch opens, "Here we go," he states simply as he gets out to let Nightblind out. "If you ever need a hand with something," and he hands her a small rectangle have the size of an iPhone 4, "Call me and I'll be here in no time," he mentions to her.
Nightblind     Nightblind careully rises, and looks out the hatch, before she gives a nod, and nimbly draws herself out.

"Thanks for the lift, Batman." she states, and with some surprise, takes the small rectangle. "You're... incredibly friendly for some defender of the night." he compliments him, her head tilting with a small smile on her lips. "Any time you're in town, look me up. I'm only a siren away." she replies... "and yeah. Maybe sometime we can find each other without the masks."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods, "I may work alone on a lot of things, but when it comes to friends, I will always be there to help," he comments as he smiles. "You ever in Gothom, go to the roof of Gothom PD and hit the signal or use the communicator. Or the Union chatter or main channel." he adds as he waves. "Becareful," he mentions as the hatch closes and the Batmobile lifts off and begins to fly away. looking over his shoulder, he thinks, . o 0 (Nice lady, wonder what made her become that?)
Nightblind     As the Batmobile speeds off, Nightblind stands on the roof of a non-descript building, and she tilts her head to the side slightly.
"What a nice guy. Wonder what got him into his mess." he says, out loud, and on the other end, Mackenzie speaks up.
    "Ella has a Crush~ Ella has a Crush~!"
"Nonsense. People like that don't hang around rich trust-fund business people with dark vendettas."
