Bardock     A blistering desert as the setting for a martial arts tournament qualifier? There are far worse ideas out there. Especially when the fighters are capable of some pretty hefty destruction. At least out here no one will complain about property damage. The stands have been set up in the shade, with concessions and so on available. There are huge screens available with camera crews tracking the battle wherever it goes, as long as they don't travel too far. Hopefully the cameras can keep up with what's being shown though.

Bardock is wearing saiyan battle armor decades out of date from what's modernly used by the planet trade organization. His combat jacket still appears to be newly made though, thanks to Toki Toki City keeping a stock of fashions and equipment spanning all time periods. He has a red bandana tied around his forehead, an x-shaped scar on one cheek, and has apparently decided to do away with a scouter for this fight. It'll be more interesting that way. As he waits for the announcement that they'll be starting, the grim-looking warrior tugs on the fingerless armored gauntlets and arm bands he's wearing, and inspects the environment. It's a habit to check out the battlefield when he can.

There's a wizened old man standing in the shade that seems to be dressed in some kind of monk-like outfit. He's the referee. It's hard to imagine how he'll be able to follow them around, but maybe he's more than he seems.
Guest Vivio     Wow it's hot! Vivio is silently thankful that her magic also somewhat protects her from heat, otherwise it might be an uncomfortable fight! Already in her Adult Mode, Vivio is wearing her usual Barrier Jacket with the cute white jacket, somewhat revealing bodysuit, and mostly decorative armor plating. Her Device, the little plush bunny Chris, is no where to be seen having merged with Vivio during the fight preparation.

As they wait for the announcement to begin, Vivio is warming up, dancing from one foot to the next as she throws a few air punches. Although she is moving around a bit, her vivid red and green eyes are squarely focused on her opponent. There's a bit of a grin on her face in anticipation of the fight. She's heard stories of Saiyans in the past, even had a chance to fight some, though they weren't as strong as Vivio is expecting Bardock to be. Surely this will be an interesting fight, whether she wins or loses!

And true to the scheduled scene description, one of the concession stands is handing out free cookies to spectators. Sorry, one per customer.
Bardock     The referee approaches, moving to a spot off to the side of and 'between' the two fighters without actually physically being between them. He calls out, "Competitors, please approach!"

Bardock does as asked, arms at his sides, looking serious, but inwardly excited to get to fight again. He knows he should probably go Super Saiyan right away if he wants to stand a chance, but that warrior spirit of his has him feeling like maybe he wants to see how well he can do without transforming first. He wants to be challenged.

Once both of them are in position, the referee raises an arm above his head as he looks between the two warriors. "World Martial Arts Tournament qualifier for Bracket B, Bardock versus Vivio Takamachi..." Then, after several dramatic seconds while the fighters face off, the air literally crackling around at least one of them, the arm comes down.

    "BEGIN!"

Almost before the words leave the referee's mouth, Bardock is blurring forward, leaping into the air and trying to come down on his opponent with a stomp-like kick. If evaded, it hits the ground hard enough to shatter the stone and leave a hole in the ground around his foot. If it hits... Well, it probably won't put a hole in Vivio, but it might sting a bit.
Guest Vivio     She's called! Vivio walks forward across the dry desert plains. She's trying to maintain a serious attitude, but that grin keeps tugging on her face due to her excitement. After all, apart from a couple of less-than-serious sparring matches, this is her first real one on one fight against another elite.

As the referee takes a moment to pause his announcement, Vivio raises a fist towards Bardock and with a smile says, "Good luck!" And then... FIGHT!

Vivio lets her opponent make the first move, watching him leap up and towards her. He's fast! But then, Vivio has fought fast people before! Bardock's stomp does hit Vivio, though probably not in the way he was hoping for. Vivio's arms come up and she crosses them, the Saiyan's foot landing against the reinforced block, which means it doesn't do much than push Vivio back across the ground a little. Bardock may have noticed a brief flash of magical energy when his foot connected.

Vivio pushes the Saiyan away from her, but not for long, as she quickly steps forward to close the distance again. Spinning, she launches an upper kick to Bardock to hopefully give him a little air. She then jumps, bringing her hands together and swinging the combined fist down towards her opponent to slam him back towards the ground.

Each of Vivio's hits are accompanied with a burst of magic, adding power to the blows that connect as well as making for a good light show.
Bardock     Just as Vivio blocked Bardock's attack but got pushed by it, he in turn blocks Vivio's attack even as it knocks him into the air. This is accomplished by lifting off into the air of his own accord to try to float back out of range. But though he takes the kick to one arm, the overhand blow to the back knocks him towards the ground. He grunts from the impact, lands on his fingertips and toes in a crouch, and then dashes to the side only to suddenly dash right back into the position he left and try to strike his opponent in the belly with a pair of punches, one after the other. "Hyah! Hah!" he lets out.

This girl is swift to react, and at least as strong as him, the veteran warrior thinks. But she might be faster. It's hard to tell so early on. He hopes to keep going just to find out for sure, but if he can't land any decisive hits, he'll have to take other measures...!
Guest Vivio     Vivio is definitely impressed by Bardock's recovery. She barely has a moment or two after her hit before the Saiyan is back in at her.

Bardock's first punch lands for a fairly solid shot to the gut, forcing Vivio a step back from the blow. However as he comes in for his second, Bardock may notice that Vivio's eyes are wide open. They watch, they study, they see an opening!

Vivio steps, shifting her body sideways and out of the path of the punch. Another quick step and Vivio is in close, bringing a fist around in a solid counterstrike to Bardock's side. Vivio then jumps away, hoping to get some distance to prepare another attack.
Bardock     The strike, enhanced by magic, actually cracks Bardock's armor a bit, and definitely sends pain through his ribs. His opponent is watching his moves, and seems to be a fairly skilled hand to hand combatant. He feels like he should up the ante, but that killer instinct of his, honed through countless battles... Many of them more like slaughters... Has no place in a tournament like this, so as he leaps away and lands a fair distance back, he has to pause to think about exactly how to go about this. To start with...

He straightens up out of his fighting stance a bit, but remains wary as he calls out, "Hey, I see you have some kind of energy enhancing your attacks. It doesn't feel like Ki. Can you project it at all?" It might be silly to ask an opponent to reveal their capabilities, but he somehow feels... Like he should check first. To make sure before he goes to the next step, that she has a method to return what she gets.

Of course if she won't tell him, then he'll just have to find out. But he wants to give her the chance.
Guest Vivio     Vivio seems happy for a brief, mid-fight conversation. Especially as it seems like the two are past the point of initially testing their opponent's capabilities. Vivio can tell that much like her, Bardock is trained in close combat. Probably a form of martial arts. It certainly fits with the stories of Saiyan's she's heard! No doubt the fight is going to pick up~

Briefly relaxing her stance too, Vivio nods happily to Bardock's statement and question, "It's magic! Though more properly, mana. And yes, I can!" Having some idea of what's coming next, Vivio prepares herself for something similar.

Slipping back into a combat stance, Vivio whips her hand out to the side and calls out, "Sonic Shooter..." A spell circle appears on the ground beneath her, followed by several orbs of irridescent light appearing in the air around her as she charges her attack.
Bardock     Yep. Well, with that out of the way, he can procede guilt-free. Not that he's some kind of honorable fighter or anything, but he's been trying to change his ways. Bombarding this young woman with ki blasts from the sky with no way to return fire doesn't seem like it'd fit into that well, nor match the spirit of the tournament. But he doesn't have to worry about it. He smirks a bit and lets out a quiet, amused, "Hmph. Magic, huh?" He was right to think he'd really enjoy this fight.

As Vivio prepares her own attack, Bardock readies his. He erupts into a blazing white aura as he lets out a low growl that builds into a continuous yell as he exerts himself to power up.

Then, because he has a time limit before Vivio's own attack is ready to fire -- if it isn't already able to go at a moment's notice -- as the ground around him shakes, cracks, crumbles, and floats upwards into chunks for about 20 meters in every direction, leaving the saiyan standing in a shallow crater... He focuses a portion of his gathered Ki into the palm of one hand and instead of just blasting at his opponent... He first charges her! Kicking off the ground, and sending a shockwave blasting out behind him to whip up dust and sand, Bardock flies at Vivio, pulls his hand back as though to punch, and then releases his Ki blast at about mid-range, in a sphere of blue-white energy!

It'll explode whatever it hits, most likely, but nothing on the level of a full-strength blast. He doesn't have a firm idea of Vivio's toughness yet. Last thing he wants is to end this fight prematurely. If he even can. This girl's pretty good!
Guest Vivio     Vivio is briefly distracted by the amount of power that is obviously radiating from Bardock... It must be a lot to wreck the ground like that! She's seen some Mages from her world manifest their magic similarly, but that's usually for massive attacks... Bardock isn't doing something like that this early into the fight, is he? Looks like Vivio is going to find out!

Standing her ground in order to get her own attack off, Vivio watches as Bardock charges. At the same time, she swings her outstretched arm around towards him and finishes with "... Assault Shift!"

As Bardock's Ki blast launches from his hand, Vivio's magic orbs burst into beams that streak towards Bardock. The two attacks pass each other, then Vivio's beams reach their target's location. Much like with the Ki blast, the magic beams will explode on hit.

Speaking of the Ki blast, it's aimed well and contacts Vivio. The magical girl is briefly engulfed by the explosion and subsequent dust cloud. She can then been seen again, skidding across the ground a good dozen meters from the concussive force of the blast.

Vivio finally stops, still on her feet though a little shaky. There's smoke rising from her and parts of her Barrier Jacket are scorched from the blast. But taking a moment to recover, she stands tall again. This fight still has a while to go!
Bardock     Though Bardock's blast succeeds in landing, the strength behind Vivio's own attack makes it clear the difference in strength between them cannot be surmounted by simple measures. Marked with blackened scorches all over his body, smoke drifting from the arm he raised to guard his face, a chunk missing off of one of the side guards of his armor, Bardock is revealed when the dust clears. Powering up isn't enough. It's time to go further. "Sorry, I was hoping to last a bit longer against you without doing this... But you're definitely more than I can handle without going all-out." He doesn't add on, 'especially when we're not aiming to kill', but he thinks it. Sometimes controlling one's power is harder than using or obtaining it. And Vivio is probably holding back quite a bit as well.

He clenches his fists, gathers his Ki, and his power rises even further than it did before. His hair wafts upwards in an unseen air current, as actual wind builds and begins to blast outwards from Bardock, becoming more and more intense, and sending waves of dust and debris in every direction. His aura increases in size, and the blazing desert sky above them darkens in a sudden, ominous weather change.

Yelling once more, Bardock strains his body, drawing upon his own rage and loss, and then letting it all out in a shout that echoes across the desert for hundreds of kilometers. Right as his hair becomes rigidly spiked, shifts from black to gold, and his aura changes to match. His eyes are a blue-green coloration now, his muscular more defined... He just seems... Stronger, and sharper, in every respect. His injuries don't magically vanish, but he seems to have gathered a great deal of power from this transformation that might help him stand more of a chance.

"Not sure if you've heard of this before. It's a transformation some of my people can undergo. A legendary form known as a Super Saiyan. I should have used it from the start, but I wanted to see if I'd improved from my training. Seems it wasn't enough."
Guest Vivio     Vivio can understand Bardock's desire to hold back and not go all out. Not everyone has a source of power like hers that won't actually kill people, or even seriously injure.

Vivio watches with wide eyes as the Saiyan goes Super. It's an impressive sight! And now that she's proven herself capable of taking a hit, plus delivering one, Vivio is even more excited that Bardock has chosen to power up. So much that once he finishes and explains, Vivio actually claps, enthusiastically too! She says, "That's so cool! And kind of terrifying!" She doesn't look very terrified. Quite the opposite in fact, so giddy with anticipation that she's bouncing up and down on her feet.

But, they've delayed the match enough. Vivio shifts into a combat stance once again and grins at Bardock, "Let's do this!"
Bardock     Bardock grins at Vivio's enthusiasm, even if his body is still hurting from the hits he has taken. For a saiyan, pain like this... Is just a sign he's in for a great fight. He vanishes from sight suddenly, blurring in place and leaving only a faint disturbance on the ground in his wake as he appears behind Vivio, and attempts to kick her in the back, and then immediately fire a golden blast of Ki at her from the palm of his hand, which carries with it enough force to not only push her through the air for a fair distance if it hits, but also, if she doesn't get away from it in time, for it to explode in a dome of light that leaves a smoking hole in the ground whenever it goes off.

Dodging the kick might still get her hit by the blast, or if not the blast itself, then the explosion. Or maybe, with the agility and speed she has demonstrated, she will simply evade all of them. But it's clear that Bardock is at a different level than before. Even if it's not enough to beat Vivio... He's glad he signed up for this tournament, just on the basis of this first battle alone.
Guest Vivio     Vivio keeps her eyes focused on Bardock. Watching... Waiting... He's gone! Incredible speed, the likes of which Vivio typically only sees from her mother. There's no way Vivio would be able to stop an attack with that speed... If she was alone. But she isn't.

Chris. Vivio's Device. Her partner. The little plush bunny that is currently magically merged into Vivio's body. Its sole focus is defense, to protect its master where she can not. It can track Bardock's movement and through the trust between master and Device, gives Vivio the opportunity defend against it. And defend she does! Vivio moves at the last moment, the potentially strong kick becoming not much more than a light tap.

Vivio spins around just in time to take the Ki blast straight on. It does indeed push her a fair way through the air. However, just as it remote explodes, Vivio is able to summon a quick Protection spell, the irridescent barrier forming and protecting her from the majority of the blast.

Landing and skidding to the halt, Vivio takes barely a moment to recover before she returns the attack. She shifts her foot and pushes off, vanishing at high speed much like Bardock as she Jet Steps to close the distance. However, she doesn't appear behind the Saiyan, but right in front of him. Her leg is glowing with magic and she brings it around in a roundhouse kick, calling, "Revolver Spike!"

The magic blast from this strike is much bigger than those she's being striking with so far.
Bardock     The warrior tries to react to block the kick from Vivio while leaping away, but the explosion released to accompany the impact combined with the strike itself do enough damage that blocking was almost pointless. He gets hurled backwards through the air, flipping over as he sails for quite a distance, before coming out of and planting one hand in the ground to tear solid stone apart with his fingers to slow himself down. Smoke trails him where he was struck. This lady really packs a whallop. The very moment his foot touches the ground, he's gone again, pushing off and flying towards his opponent.

This time, however, rather than utilizing just one burst of super speed, he flickers in and out of existed repeatedly in multiple places along the way, after images of where he was fractions of micro-seconds prior, until he flickers into existence behind again, only to not be THERE either. Then he's seemingly just gone entirely! If Vivio and/or Chris scan the battlefield, it will seem like their opponent has vanished completely.

However, high above, in the sky, with the sun at his back, Bardock releases a solid beam of Ki from his hand aimed down at Vivio, intending to blast her into the ground hard, plow up the terrain, and send shafts of golden light piercing upwards through the rock for several seconds prior to the whole thing erupting in a column of Ki, exploding stone, and a dust cloud that travel several hundred feet into the air before starting to rain back down!

That barrier was impressive, as is the danger detection ability Vivio has, though Bardock doesn't know its origins. Is it enough to defend against this attack as well!?
Guest Vivio     Vivio plants her foot back on the ground again and then shifts into a defensive stance. She watches Bardock recover from the kick with style, before going high speed again. It's a little easier for Vivio to track this time, though when he appears to vanish once more, Vivio spins, expecting another attack from behind. Except the Saiyan is gone again...

Vivio cautiously scans her surroundings, trying to find Bardock... By the time her Device alerts her to the threat above, it's too late. Vivio looks up to see the beam of energy streaking towards her.

The beam hits and Vivio vanishes amidst the explosion of energy, rock and dust.

It takes several seconds for things to settle and the dust to clear. There's now a large crater in the ground where Vivio was standing... And by the looks of it, is still standing. No, kneeling. As more dust clears, Vivio's Barrier Jacket is clearly scorched, some parts to the point of being burned away to show skin beneath. Vivio hadn't been able to put up a defense spell in time, so the magic of her Barrier Jacket had taken pretty much the whole brunt of the attack.

Vivio isn't moving... But she is smiling. Another triangular spell circle appears on the ground beneath her as she kneels. The hum of energy grows louder as more orbs of light appear in the air around her. She calmly says as she stands, "Sonic Shooter..." The same attack as before? Well, it did appear to be pretty successful.

The orbs burst into beams again, streaking into the air towards Bardock... Though their aim is slightly off. As they close in on the Saiyan, Vivio raises her hand into the air, closes her fist quickly and finishes, "Phantom Shift!" Wait, that's not the same!

The beams suddenly burst again, each splitting into more, smaller ones. The large number of magic shots streak towards Bardock from multiple directions to pepper him with explosions.
Bardock     Reusing the same tactic with only a minor variation is what Bardock was hoping his opponent would assume he was doing. That she would use the same exact attack again with only a slightly off aim thus immediately raises his suspicions. He's not going to fall for the same tactic he just used! Unfortunately for him, however, while he tries to fly up and back out of range, the trap has already been sprung, and the projectiles come at him from every direction! Blazing in a golden aura he streaks through the air, weaving, dodging, trying to evade, but the density of the smaller beams is enough that he gets dinged repeatedly, until he finds himself corralled into a 'kill box' (if they weren't non-lethal lasers, anyway) where he literally has no direction to turn to where they aren't coming from.

With his transformation-heightened, reaction time and speed, he has a few moments to verify the fact he has no escape route, right before he is pelted repeatedly all over, causing eruptions of smoke and light and flashy explosions!

While the smoke cloud still hangs in the air, Bardock comes surging back down out of it, seemingly intending to perform a diving tackle upon Vivio. Much like her, he's feeling fantastic. It feels so good to just cut loose and fight. No worries about his failures, his past crimes, his weakness compared to so many other fighters... Just fighting for the joy of it.

But he cuts the charge moments away from impact, somersaults backwards through the air, and releases the Ki blast he was charging up, a solid beam of blue-white Ki erupts from his hand, digging a trench in the terrain just from proximity to the beam and heading seemingly on a direct course with Vivio!

The Ki beam turns at the last second, going straight down into the ground and causing another large explosion! Given how agile and evasive Vivio is, it seems Bardock decided trying to catch her in the area of the blast was worth more than gambling on her not dodging a direct attack!
Guest Vivio     Vivio watches as her opponent plummets out of the sky. Intentionally of course. She steadies herself in preparation of whatever attack might come next. The sudden reversal and Ki blast was not all that unexpected, causing Vivio to jump away to try and avoid it. The sudden turn into the ground and subsequent explosion was a little more unusual, and apparently successful. Vivio is caught on the edge of the explosion, pushed further into the air and pounded by the debris sent flying by the blast. A shard of rock cuts across a section of her arm where her Barrier Jacket was gone, drawing blood. But the wound isn't serious.

Then, a large piece of the ground flies towards Vivio, but she spots it. Turning in the air, she manages to get a footing on the debris piece and use it to jump away, avoiding a potentially painful blow. Her foot finds another rock, then another, the Mage picking up speed with each jump. She quickly gains ground on the rain debris, beginning to close the distance to Bardock. All the while, a aura of light begins to gather around her.

Finally Vivio pushes off from the final air rock, streaking towards Bardock with a trail of energy behind her. There's no feint, no trick, Vivio just charges the Saiyan to shoulder slam him at high speed with a large blast of magical energy!
Bardock     Running from rock to rock at high-speed and then slamming Bardock certainly seems to have worked! He gets sent hurtling out of the air and into the ground, breaking the terrain with his body and the momentum carrying him into it. Blood trickles from the corner of his mouth, and more runs down his face from his head where it impacted the ground when he gets back to his feet strugglingly. He already knew Vivio hit hard, but that magic energy she wields is way more powerful than he knew it could be. Is is stronger than Ki? Or just different? Or is it just that his opponent is stronger than he is? He doesn't know, but he braces himself, gritting his teeth and looking up at Vivio in the air following her attack. He's hurting, but he doesn't feel his life is in danger. Even so, it's time to step up even more.

A sphere of Ki forms in the palm of one hand, and then grows to encompass the hand entirely. It swirls and blazes brilliantly, the outline of his hand within it super-luminescent as the energy pours out of his skin and concentrates in just the small area around his appendage. This attack is similar to the Riot Javelin he originally used against Frieza, that failed to stop the tyrant. It's the upgraded version he used to defeat Chilled, Frieza's ancestor. But he isn't using anywhere near the amount of Ki he put into that one. He isn't holding back against Vivio, but there's no intent to kill. He hasn't felt even a hint of such bloodlust from her.

He would be a disgrace to the son he entrusted with the future if he lost control even a little bit in this fight. Surging with golden Ki all around him, he pulls back his hand and then with a yell he simply hurls the sphere at Vivio, pushing it forward at high speed with a beam following it... And the name of the attack called after it.

    "REBELLION TRIGGER!"

The sphere expands tremendously on approach, rather than remaining concentrated. That should spread the damage out a bit if it hits.
Guest Vivio     Vivio floats there in the air, watching Bardock after that hit. It looks like a good hit! And Vivio is impressed that the Saiyan is still capable of fighting after that. In the Intermiddle tournament she took part in on her homeworld, her initial opponents fell much more quickly. Bardock has already proven himself stronger than many of the Mages in that tournament... And it's only their first match! Vivio is very glad she signed up for the WMAT.

As Bardock prepares what appears to be a strong ranged attack, Vivio considers how to handle it. She's not much of an aerial fighter yet, but maybe she can use her flight to dodge it. After all, only way to get better is to try! Yes, that sounds like a good plan. So Vivio's eyes track the Ki sphere as it flies from Bardock... And grows... And grows... Oh crap, it's getting to big, so much for dodging... Oh well, only one thing to do.

Vivio darts forward, beginning to pick up speed as she flies straight towards the growing Ki sphere. She creates a Round Barrier ahead of her to protect her as much as possible as she dives into the ball of golden light...

    ...

    ...

Vivio bursts out the other side! Her barrier is gone, likely no where strong enough to protect her the whole way. Her Barrier Jacket has also suffered considerable damage, more of it destroyed or in tatters. The stress on Vivio's face shows that a lot of her strength was sapped by that trip... But it has placed her in a good position to counterattack and she's already in the process of it, an orb of irridescent light glowing in her palm.

As Vivio charges closer to Bardock, she swings her hand around to release the orb in front of her. It keeps up with her speed as it grows larger in size, Vivio pulling her arm back and closing her fist. She cries out, "DIVIIIIIINNNNNNEEEE-" She swings, a round spell circle appearing around the orb as her fist connects with it. Vivio finishes, "BUSTER!"

The gathered magic explodes forth from the sphere, expanding out into a large blast of light that spreads out like a shotgun blast to engulf Bardock's current position. The large amount of energy rivals Bardock's own attack, blowing away stone in a triangular blaze of irridescent light!
Bardock     Vivio forcing her way through his attack... That already puts her above Chilled, who was unable to do anything except get carried along with it off to wherever he went. Maybe he died in space. Who knows? But this fighter is not some tyrant's ancestor, some bully who has never faced a true equal, let alone a superior. Vivio came into this power she has through hard work and experience, clearly. Maybe she has her Device secretly helping her (or secret to Bardock anyway), but teamwork is still a type of strength, and it requires good judgment to use strength properly.

When Vivio smashes through his attack and pelts him with a shotgun blast of lasers, he is caught right in the middle of it. Despite the pain, despite the saiyan instincts with him that growl with aggression in defiance of the competitive spirit he has carried with him throughout this, all the plans he has to come up with if he hopes to try to salvage a win from this somehow... All of it is secondary to the single emotion that holds sway over him and his mind in that one moment.

Complete and utter admiration for his opponent. He doesn't feel inferior for being bested by her, as he's now sure is going to happen. He doesn't feel humiliated and defeated even acknowledging he wasn't good enough inside, despite the fight not being over. He just hopes he'll have the chance to face her again someday. And as he flies back and comes to a skidding halt on the ground, an idea comes to him. A tribute to someone else who he admires and hopes to live up to the example of. It's a technique he has seen repeatedly, in visions of the future, of a past that had yet to occur in his time, and from many other fighters at Toki Toki City since, including the saiyan Cory.

And though he has not mastered it to the same extent that his son has, Bardock feels he has enough of a handle of it to try it himself now after all his training for this tournament.

So he goes down into a half-crouch, and cups his hands at his sides, his torso armor destroyed to the extent that only some loose fabric from his undershirt hangs about his waist. A sphere of blue-white ki begins to form in the Super Saiyans palms. Smiling, he calls out, "No matter how this ends, Vivio Takamachi, I hope that I get to fight you again someday." Then he lowers himself even further, drawing his hands back further, and begins to chant.

"Kaaameee..." The sphere glows brighter as more and more Ki is channeled into it. The ground shakes beneath him, wind whipping up around him swirling off in every direction. His features are illuminated from the side, casting half his face into darkness. "Haaameeee...!" His aura blazes up even higher, shattering the ground at his feet, and then shattering it further in a circle, and then again as the ground seems to just keep sinking below him, being pushed away by the forces being concentrated at his side.

Then with thoughts of how grateful he is to have lived to see a future where people like his son could live and fight for something better than what he himself did, he throws his hands forward and let loose not only an echoing, defeaning yell, but also a massive wave of power that virtually obliterates the terrain it passes over.

    "...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Guest Vivio     Vivio drops down to the ground, waiting patiently to find out the results of her attack... Bardock is still conscious? Okay, Vivio has to admit that this guy is strong. Definitely strong enough to face off against all the strong people Vivio knows in her life. Possibly even her mothers, which is kind of a scary thought.

As Vivio sees Bardock crouch and begin to charge an attack, she shifts into a defensive stance in preparation to block it. In her current condition, she's not confident in her ability to dodge it. So she figures it's best to take it, hope she can survive it, and counterattack.

Vivio grins happily at her opponent's words, obviously glad that she got this chance to fight him, "Me too! I just know that by fighting you, I'll become stronger."

Looks like it's time. Vivio raises her open hand, Round Barrier forming beyond it. Surely she can survive this, like she survived through the Rebellion Trigger? Vivio steadies her feet as the massive wave of power is unleashed, tearing up the ground as it streaks towards her. Her eyes widden a little... Maybe she should have tried dodging after all...

The attack strikes Vivio's barrier, initially halted in its progress as energy flares off the defensive spell. For a moment there seems to be a struggle between attack and defense... But Vivio realises just a moment before everyone else does, her barrier won't hold.

The circle of magic shatters into light as the rest of the attack hits Vivio, picking her up off her feet and carrying her through the air. It smashes her into the side of a rocky outcropping, ripping up the stone around her until the attack finally fades.

Vivio is still, her face unmoving and neutral as she is partially embedded in the rock. Her Barrier Jacket is pretty much ruined, barely holding together to keep her decent. She then begins to fall forward, the ribbon holding her pony tail breaks apart and floating off on the desert wind as Vivio hits the ground. Well, it looks like Bardock has won...

No wait, there's movement! Vivio plants her hands on the ground, slowly pushing herself up as she shakes. Getting onto one knee, Vivio pauses for a moment, then asks quietly, "Chris?" She feels her partner out inside her, realising the Device took as much of the hit as he could and is now offline. Vivio tears up a little bit at the sacrifice and continues quietly, "Thank you."

Vivio stumbles to her feet, her face a combined look of tired and determined. Her hair blows freely in the wind as she slowly settles into an attack stance. She stares at Bardock in the distance through half open eyes as a triangular spell circle appears on the ground beneath her. Summoning all the strength she has left, light begins to glow around her arm. She shifts her foot again as she prepares to move, starting, "Axel..."

Vivio vanishes in another burst of speed with her Jet Step. She reappears before Bardock, fist coming up in a devestating uppercut as she finishes, "SMASH!"
Bardock     That technique... Took a LOT out of him. He feels drained to the extent he has to fight to gather Ki from his reserves just to remain transformed. He can't allow himself to lapse, until he knows the results of his attack... And when he sees the aftermath, for a moment he wonders if he actually did it. If he actually pulled off a win somehow. Wouldn't that be something? The man content with losing, somehow emerging victorious? But when Vivio falls out of the crater that was formed and climbs back to her feet, his labored breaths and weary expression turn into just a chuckle and a grin.

No, of course not. He was right when he judged Vivio strong enough to beat him. He doesn't regret, or think, 'Maybe I should have transformed from the start after all'. Because if he had, he wouldn't have gotten to see how much he had grown, and how truly strong this person is. And how much stronger he must continue to become. Bardock's legacy is not to win or to defeat his opponents. It's merely to help those who will fight in the future achieve their dreams. "Yeah. I've no doubt you're only going to keep getting stronger," he answers at conversational volume. Maybe not enough for his opponent to hear at her distance and in her condition, but that's okay.

Then she appears before him, faster than he can react to in his state, and smashes up with a super-powerful uppercut that hurls him into the air like a rocket, only to come back down after a long flight, smash through several stone pillars, and plow up the ground beneath him for a couple hundred meters before finally coming to a stop.

The referee who has been hiding on the sidelines through all this, looking quite frazzled, rides one of the camera-bearing hovercars towards Bardock's location to ascertain his condition. Afer a few long moments of watching from the audience, the referee speaks into his microphone as he holds up one hand. "Bardock is no longer able to fight! Winner of this match... Vivio Takamachiiiii!"

And from where he lies in a ditch in the sand and dirt, Vivio might see Bardock raise a hand and give her a thumbs-up without lifting his head.
Guest Vivio     Vivio remains standing long enough to register the announcer's voice and the fact that she won. She then proceeds to keel over and down to the ground. Mmmm, time for sleep...
