Yunomi Stadler     THE CITY OF RAVNICA -- IZZET QUARTER.

Bustling city streets, markets selling all manner of strange small contraptions and glowing bits of magical-fueled oddities. Knickknacks from beyond the realm of the cityscape, where the towering spires of the Izzet reach triumphantly into the sky.

There are also the hidden greenspaces, the project of one of the magewrights, slipped into the spaces between buildings where the sun struggles to reach, refuges from the heat of the city summer. Heat escapes from vents creeping through buildings, giving the air a heavy steamy feeling, lending to pools of rust-tainted water between cobblestone walkways.

There was one of the Guildmages walking the streets, tail flicking behind her, ears perked forward, attention on a tome in front of her. She was clad in red and blue armor, brass wet from the steam and shining wetly. Some of her red and blue bangs were plastered to her forehead, the rest in a burnt, dark brown bun at the nape of her neck. Her boots tap smartly against the stones as she walks.
Taylor Scott After a morning of checking some stuff, a quick scarf of a breakfast sandwich, down of coffee, and a few of the advisers flailing about him taking off. Taylor Scott was not about to be held down just yet when there was a massive new world to be learned about!

PCI could take care of itself without him constantly gawking over it like his father, his grandfather, and so on. It was a massive Mega Corporation, it had the money control over all of the American Alliance-- what could ever go wrong! That was the thoughts of the youthful mind of this business owner.

He remember reading about a city in one of the guides. A place called Ravnica. It had some high tech gear and even some kinda magical thingies. Given Val spoke of her world having magical thingies, it seem like it be a good idea to investigate another city like this without his Armored Core in tow.

This now brings Taylor Scott walking the streets in a pair of jeans, his underarmor shirt, fingerless gloves, and a pair of aviator shades. Though while the humidity here, if that is what you'd call it, was heavy in the air, he was managing. Though his gaze did peer down at the murky brown water. Slightly brought a frown to his face actually.
Yunomi Stadler     A goblin lumbers by, head somewhere below Taylor's elbow. He reeks of boiled cabbage and old motor oil.
The city is more... fantasy than what some of the guides would suggest. Fantasy with a twist of technology -- an industrial age with a side of giant men made of stormclouds and thunder, wearing goggles as they zip by overhead.

THe girl in the armor came around a corner, and glanced up, spying the new face and the different clothing. One ear pricked, and the other turned slightly to the side as she regarded the stranger a moment, and she gave a small smile, closing the tome , and turned to follow him.
Taylor Scott When the goblin walked by, Taylor wrinkled his nose. He stuck his tongue out a touch when he looked away and shook his head. He keeps seeing odder and odder things on these little ventures out, not that he minds. He lives for this kind of stuff really!

Something his dad said he always got from his mom---- thank god.

He watches the man go by with a storm cloud and raises an eye brow at such a sight, it was enough for him to turn on heel with some fascination and childish wonder, before he almost runs into someone. "Sorry about that!" Though as he keeps walking, he may picked up on Yunomi following, but is far to distracted by everything else going on.

"This place is so surreal..." Taylor ends up saying to himself as he turns about again.
Yunomi Stadler     "Yeah, it can get a little intense at times." the armored girl replies as she gives a slight smile, ears pricking forward. "First time in the Izzet quarter?" she questions, friendly-like. Her eyes light up with curiosity. She has a furry tail that twitches once behind her, but other than the ears and tail she appears human. She has an emblem with a trio of wings forming an eye-shape on it on her shoulder. She waggles her fingers at the stranger in greeting. "Hi."
Taylor Scott Taylor looks to the ears and the tail of the voice who speaks to him. He has seen a few people like this here and out there, but he can't help but stare still. "Uuuh..." He ahems gently. "Yeah... yeah it is." The dirty blonde points around himself slightly, before he shrugs helplessly as he talks, "I never even been to this area before. New to the Multiverse.. like... four.. five days counting?"

Taylor gives her another quick glance over, this time over the top of the brim of his shades, before he pushes them back up. Then extends out his hand in greeting. "I'm Taylor Scott, its um... nice to meet you." Then a pause, "...is... handshakes ok here?"
Yunomi Stadler     "It can be a little overwhelming if you're not used to it." Yunomi gives a smile, and she sets her hand down, taking his and giving it a hearty shake. "Yunomi Stadler, Izzet Leaguemage, and experienced Multiversal denizen, the pleasure is mine." she smiles, and she gives a small laugh. "Handshakes are known here, yes. Just be aware that not everyone has hands -- you mind get wingshakes or tentacle shakes as well." she replies, and taking back her hand, rosses her arms half-protectively over the book she's carrying. "So, Taylor Scott, from where do you come from?" she inquires, her head tilting slighty. Both her ears are focused on him.
Taylor Scott Taylor gives a firm shake along with her and then places his hands in his pockets. He takes in what she says and brows furrow at part, then he tilts his head to one side to the other. Tentacle handshake-- really? That sounds like something out of a bad movie in his own head-space.

The young man glances to the side with a huff of sigh as he tries to square that all away. "Yeah, its been an interesting adventure so far. Glad no one has taken my head off yet." He then shrugs his shoulders softly. "Oh... just another Earth out of a thousand I figure. I'm apparently from an alternate 2015 Earth year and I guess due to World War Two changes... we are a touch more advance then some."

He watches a few people walk by, before he goes to look at her again, "I guess having giant size robots you pilot will do that." The young man then motions to her book as his hand comes out of his pocket, "So what's up with the book?"
Yunomi Stadler     "Ah! I grew up in North America in the early 2000's, standard issue, United States, prevented widespread zombie apocalypse." Yunomi gives a grin. "but I'm not a native." she adds on, to clarify her physiological differences. She gives a smile, and a slight wave to one of the strangers who pass by, giving a nod of rcomendation. "So, you pilot giant robots? Friend of mine did that with his dad. Do you fight against invaders or one another?" she inquires, and turns back to him. Her eyes go a bit wide a moment, and then she looks down to the book that she's holding, and then back up to him, tightening her grip a moment.

"Ah... a study on magical psionics using a wide-spread system and the upkeep of mananetworking as written by an outsider. I have it on loan.... doing a bit of study."
Taylor Scott "Seems like allot of places us magic here." Taylor says gently, with a hint of mild concern in his voice. "Where I come from, magic is all smoke and mirrors. Something to be explained away by science and technology, yet here... seems to become something that people can breath easily as air."

He grunts softly. "...and I still can't wrap my head around it." He rubs the back of his neck and shakes his head, "But sounds like a pretty neat book. May have to go visit a library myself around the Multiverse and see what I may be able to find out. Could help with the construction of the Armored Cores for more uses... maybe." He really has no idea and that part actually bugs him.

The young man though does give a nod of his head, kinda throwing the zombie thing to the side for now. Don't need more movie thought references! "But yeah, I pilot Armored Cores.... I am also the leader of the largest Mega Corporation in our world that manufactures them." He admits with a very sheepish grin. "But we have no alien invaders or anything of the sort. Just good ol' human warfare and criminals trying to use them for criminal things."
Yunomi Stadler     "There are as many that use science as there are magic, and if it's really high tech it may be pratically indistinguishable. The good thing is that if you have allies who use what you don't, you have a multi-faceted approach to eliminate enemies and preserve peace. My homeworld was magical, but we hadn't seen the invention of even horseless carriages yet. My dad's world had cars and gunplanes and zombie viruses outbreaks. Here? Ravnica? At least in the Izzet, there's a blend of technology and magic. We've recently began trasferring mana-energy over a network of vines rather than that of wires. It's a huge leap forward towards making the city more unified." Yunomi explains, and she gives a bit of a sheepish grin herself.

"I'm afraid I'm no one as important; just a mage and a guard--ener." sge begins to walk a l ittle bit, slow enough for him to keep up. "So, Armored Cores, huh? What are they like? Very large? Building-sized?"
Taylor Scott Taylor follows along as he listens. His hands returning to his pockets as he keeps up pace. "I guess that explains.." No foot in mouth, "Eh-hehe.. nevermind." He ahems gently. "As for uh... Armored Cores. They are about thirty two feet, long as you stick to around the humoid legs. They are heavy modular and are used for all sorts of things. Police work, Constructions, and yes, military. Military loves them, but that was also their beginnings too."

Taylor looks around the area as he keeps up, before looking back to her. "My hope is that maybe they will see use outside of my world here in the Multiverse. Maybe provide folks with Armored Cores that don't have such technology to make their own." He shrugs his shoulders gently. "Though by the way global radio makes it sound, seems like almost everyone either has their own form of giant robots or have zero interest in it."

He shakes his head gently. "Ah well, if they do, they do-- they don't... that is fine too. I'm not going to twist anyone's arm over it, but I do think some folks are losing out on a great chance for something fully customizable."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunoi pauses and looks over her shoulder "The ears and the tail?" She questions, amused at the sudden stop in the line of conversation before she shrugs, and continues. "Well... I used to do volunteer work for a group that predominantly used giant robots. Some over three hundred feet tall. Pretty intense." she replies. "A lot of things that can be accomplished with giant robots can be accomplished here with magic. I've been around the pilots since I was a little kid... but never had the chance to learn much about them." she admits, and gives a small laugh.
Taylor Scott Taylor grins sheepishly as she catches him on what he was thinking, "Yeah... yeah that is right. I'm still getting use to seeing that for real and not on some cute girl wearing fake ones." He looks up at the sky for a bit before he sighs. "I've grown up around them. I think I spent more time in the hangers and around the engineers, then I actually did taking business classes and preparation stuff for BEING the owner of PCI." He shakes his head. "I really didn't even want this position and I'm stuck with it."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi runs a gloved hand through her bangs, and gives a theatrical sigh. "No one ever recognizes me for my abilities, just the ears and the tail. What is ever to become of me?" she teases, and wiggles her ears in response. "Well, there aren't many people around who have ears like this. I'm decently sure I am the only one in Ravnica. I had to shift them when I was in school in Maryland." she adds, and she leads him to an overlook. It's a massive balcony, part of the infrastructure, that looks over a deep chasm, a crevase formed by towering buildings. There is the sound of falling water, a draining pipe expelling a cascade of steaming water from the cooling chambers to the great below. Above, one of the messenger drakes gives its screeching cry as its leathery wings flap, and he disappears amongst the buildlings.

"I grew up around a bunch of armed forces; army and marine infantry. My dad's a military guy, but he taught me that any knowledge is good knowledge... probably would have been fun taking business courses."
Taylor Scott "I tell you what... you take business and I'll let you and Carol fight over being secretary." Taylor says in jest before he leans on the railing with his hands. Using his gloves to protect him from the possible heat of the rails. Though he does watch the messenger drake fly by and nearly lifts himself on his tip toes to watch. "Holy shit, was that a dragon?!"

He almost missed her talking about military, before he snaps his attention back around to her, "Urm, sorry... you were saying about the military?" The dirty blonde gives a massive sheepish grin, kinda knowing he sorta f'ed up there in a socializing sorta way.
Yunomi Stadler     "Pfft. I sling fire. Wouldn't be much of a fight." Yunomi gives a grin, and she glances up at the sound of the drake above. She watches for a minute... and then reaches into a satchel of her armor, and takes out a watch. "huh. He's running late." she mutters to herself, and then glances back to Taylor.

"/THAT/ was a drake. We only have three dragons in Ravnica, and I work for them." Yunomi replies dryly she smiles, and just gives a shrug, looking back out over the buildings of the massive city-world.
Taylor Scott Taylor stares at her. He just stares over the edge of his Aviator glasses and looks at her dead on while she explains she works for three dragons. It was a look of disbelief and yet somewhat shock, then he blinks his eyes and that smirk becomes a full fledged grin. "That is completely amazing." He then points up as he pushes his shades back up, "And that was a drake? What are the differences? Are there Griffons here too?"

Poor Yunomi.
Yunomi Stadler     Ah, tourists. Yunomi gives a shrug. "Drakes are smaller and less powerful, generally less intelegent than dragons. When my teacher, Niv-Mizzet, assumed his size, he was... well. About six, seven times the size of that drake. ANd yeah, we have griffons, but not in this quarter. We'd have to go to Boros quarter..." Yunomi looks momentarily embarrassed "Aaand there's still a good two weeks that we're required to keep to our own quarters after the last incident when one of their griffons tried to eat one of the goblins."
Taylor Scott Taylor raises an eye brow, "Why would..." He just seems very confused now and shakes his head. "There has to be some interested politics here then... and how many quarters are there?" He asks looking back out over the view before them.
Yunomi Stadler     "Weeeeell... sevenish?" Yunomi considers. "There are seven active guilds, one guild that we don't know if it is operating or not, and a bunch of guildless areas... and yeah. Politics have become complicated. You think business is cutthroat? Try installing manavines in the Lower City." Yunomi frowns... but she gives a nervous laugh after that. "... but that's not any fun to talk to the tourists about, ne? ... and even griffons get hungry, man. I'm told they used to rule the areas around the seas, before they were burried. Now there's no where for them to fish, so they go after pretty much anything smaller than human-sized."
Taylor Scott "That has to be rough." Taylor says, "I mean for the griffons." He shakes his head and pushes off the rail. "Anyways, sorry for asking you silly tourist things, just got distracted by the drag--urm-- drake." He laughs a touch. "Then again, how else you going to learn about a city and its culture without asking, huh?"

The young man sighs. "How about you show me where we can get a bite to eat. I'll even pay for your food and drink."
Yunomi Stadler     "Pfft. Don't worry. My guild's canteen is open, and I know the guildmaster. C'mon," Yunomi says and the red-and-blue armored woman motions with her hand, and walks off towards one of the huge spires of a building. "And you can keep asking questions -- if I don't know the answer..." she grins, and walks backwards, boots clicking as she draws her book upwards a little bit, "... I'll just make one up~"
