Defiant      Much like the other dragoncraft, the Pendragon II isn't the most luxurious vehicle to ride in. Defiant's personal craft is clearly made for one purpose - war. The cape himself sits in the cockpit in full battle armor. He hasn't said anything since picking up each Elite.

When a dark-skinned woman enters the main compartment of the craft, some might think it's Dragon - but only for a moment. The American flag scarf she has wrapped around most of her face makes it clear that the woman is Miss Militia, Armsmaster's former lieutenant.

"Elites," Miss Militia says, tapping a command onto a nearby touch terminal. The wall lights up with an image - a big man with a shaved head, a man with the bearing of a soldier or criminal.

"This is Saint, leader of the Dragonslayers. His name is Geoff Pellick. He's the only Tinker-zero we've ever had on record - that is, someone with access to tinkermade technology but with no powers himself. He has two associates, Margaret and Mischa, and they have their own armored suits. Our objective is to apprehend each and every member of the Dragonslayers and relocate them for questioning at a later date. Any questions?"
Rebound     Rebound's hand goes up at the mentioning of any questions, though she asks the question regardless, "Where did they get the suits from? Is there any way to remotely disable them? How tough of a target are we talking about here? Like will I be able to just smash them in their stupid faces, or am I going to need to figure out how to disable the armor first before I smash them?"

She pauses, but only for a second, "Is there a maximum number of bones I'm allowed to break once we get them out of the suits? I'll try to leave the jaw alone so you can actually get intel out of them."
Ainsley     Ainsley sits in the Dragoncraft, not as cramped as the others might be just by virtue of her nature, sits and listens without saying a word after she got here. Her mind churns away at strategies to use against the enemy to help her allies out. She thinks on the puzzle of getting a spell through an armored suit, and then tries to think of ways to affect a Dragoncraft itself, frowning at the prospect of needing to use her Sight on something that belonged to an ally.

"If they have a deactivation code, I may be able to send it through a spell. I would just need a look at the code and to scan their suits, and then I'd need to get close enough to touch them. Ranged spells are complex and tiring, so I wouldn't be able to disable more than one if I stayed back."

She smiles gently at Rebound, having built off of her question.
Frederica     Fortunately for the sake of people in the Pendragon II, Frederica is a fairly small woman. She sits, hunched in on herself even more than normal, her body language screaming 'don't bother me' even as she thinks she's being socially approachable. She's in costume as a local cape, FireFox, with a fairly obvious costume complete with hood and face mask.

She comes slightly out of her shell at the request for questions. "Dragonslayers." she mutters darkly, then speaks more clearly. "Will we be taking them off-world? I think a Union prison will suit holding them nicely, though ... well, you'll have to follow Union rules for interrogation if so. I can arrange it. And if need be, I can arrange repairing their jaws." she adds, this last to Rebound grimly.
Tomoe Tomoe has arrived one way or another she's on board the transport and he's listenintg for a moment to what Miss Militi's briefing.

"Take them alive all right I can get behind that. Also keep in mind due to my nature I'm utterly dispable and will actually be find."

She notes before she looks to Rebound and tilts her head a a bit but the Alf says nothing to this. still she's clearly wondering about this.

"We'll have to possibly go after them also we need to worry that the feds might back them up."
Defiant      "I'll handle this," Defiant says, stepping out of the cockpit. His helmet is on, voice modulated into a low, electronic rumble. "They took them from Dragon by setting up ambushes for her. From there, the captured dragoncraft were taken apart and reverse-engineered into suits of powered armor. Something which should have been impossible. There is no way of remotely disabling them. As much as it hurts me to say it, do not hurt them too much. We want them alive."

The helmet turns in Frederica's direction. "I had not thought of that. However, I do want to keep each of the Dragonslayers in a seperate location given that I would anticipate Saint paying off someone to free him in the event that he is captured. I'll take Saint to a secure location. Mags and Dobrynja are secondary, if you want to hold them somewhere, feel free."

Taking up his spear from a secure locker and setting it across his back, Defiant adds: "Miss Militia will remain with the Pendragon II and prevent any of them from escaping. We're thirty seconds out. Be ready."

The Pendragon sets down outside what looks to be an abandoned, derelict industrial complex. The grass is overgrown, the windows shattered, the walls marred with graffiti.

The Dragonslayers, in three similar armored suits that tower even over Defiant, stand on the roof. Saint can clearly be identified by the cross displayed across his suit's head. "So," Saint begins, "Here we are, cyborg. Come to die like your 'girlfriend'?"
Tomoe Tomoe has got her mission now and she summons her wings, the angel like wings take shape from her back. Bright red and translucent she looks like an angelic paladin as she now comes out and she tilts her head at Saint.

"Stand down now, because you have no idea just about what your going to be facing here."

She's alredy got her Naginatta out and at the ready she's not making a strike just yet but she's clearly ready and what the hell is up with those wings?
Frederica     'Impossible' is one of those words that come up a lot around Tinkers, not to mention the other less techy powers. FireFox isn't surprised they did something no one expected. That's the nature of things, here and everywhere else. If they could only do what'd be expected, Dragon would still be alive.

"I wouldn't worry about Saint bribing someone in Njorun." she says. "Even if he knew of it, he couldn't have gotten to anyone there." she adds. "Er, probably." she clarifies, looking uncomfortable.

When alerted that there's only thirty seconds to touchdown, she readies herself. Outwardly she relaxes, calming herself meditatively. Inwardly, her emotions are roiling. Her powers are likely to be a bit hard for her to control, but they'll be stronger than normal. Her anger fuels her power. It's not a dark-side thing... but it's close enough.

Once on the ground, Frederica amps her senses and glowers behind her mask at the Dragonslayers. "You're badly named for taking such a tone with us." she taunts. "None of us are dragons." she explains. "But some of us DO breathe fire."

She doesn't wait for further taunts. Instead she turns to Dobrynja and exhales. Not that she NEEDS to breathe fire, or can't project it in any form she chooses. This, she figures, is for Dragon. It's only proper. She aims the cone of intense flame at the suit's feet, hoping to both strike non-lethally and hopefully cause some damage to slow the foe's ability to flee.
Rebound     Okay, so there they are. Rebound figures that Defiant will want to go after Saint himself, the whole honor duel thing, though she admits she wants to punch Saint right in his stupid smug mouth. But for now, she'll take one of the secondaries. As soon as they reach the drop point, she's up and out of the Dragoncraft, moving at the full speed she can muster. She doesn't know which one is on Saint's right side, but it doesn't matter.

Tomoe might be giving them a chance to surrender, but Rebound has been dealing with these types for a long time. So she's not going to give them that chance as she leaps and shifts in midair, intending to hit her target full force with both powerful kangaroo legs. She's taken out a semi-truck with a fully powered kick before, she thinks this should at least do some damage.
Ainsley     Ainsley frowns when it's mentioned they don't have a way to disable the suits easily. The lack of that sort of failsafe worries the lizard woman, though it makes sense if Tinker tech isn't supposed to be compatible with other people. Once they've landed and the location of the three enemies is pinpointed, she climbs out of the Pendragon, and floats back to a safe distance where she can duck behind some industrial wreckage if bullets and missiles fly in her direction.

She activates her Arcane Sight and turns it on Saint's armor in particular. She seeks to learn its Name, so that it can be vulnerable to her magic. She doesn't anticipate it being as problematic as, say, Scion was, but technology is complex and might take some time.

"I advise submitting to custody peacefully so that we may get the truth of the matter out of you," she speaks clearly toward them, her voice projecting impressively even as she tries to scan the craft for anything like sensors and other devices, things she can target for disruption if needed. "You made more enemies than you realize with your actions."

She waves a hand vaguely toward the sound of Frederica's attack, and then Rebound's advance. "The faster you stand down, the less painful this will be. Our friends here are less patient than I am, obviously."
Defiant      "I won't submit to that thing's twisted sense of justice. Unlike you," Saint sneers, "I know precisely who he is." He's already leaping down to intercept Defiant with the green and gold cape readying his shield. With a loud clang of metal on metal, Saint goes to one side. He recovers, kicking Defiant down who rolls, gets to his feet, takes Saint's left arm in his hands and /twists/. It has all the feeling of a grudge match - one of the men will die, or both.

Frederica opens up on Dobrynja. He's got the biggest suit with some sort of wheel on its back. The wheel is spinning, gaining speed. Electricity crackles and sparks. The clawed feet of Dobrynja's suit heat, glowing hot, but the Dragonslayer opens up with a crackling fusilade of electricity, arcing out towards Frederica!

Mags doesn't seem to be as good a fighter as the other two and Rebound sends her suit stumbling back. On the ground, Mags raises her arm an sends a blast of thick white foam at Rebound - it hardens on contact. PRT containment foam, strong enough to bind even the most powerful parahuman to the ground!

Ainsley's magic sight focuses on Saint as he and Defiant continue to batter each other around. The name... the name...

It was once the Cawthorne and proud to serve. Programmed but not sentient. There's something else there, though. The shadow of something, or someone.
Ainsley     Ainsley's righteousness is not swayed by Saint's words, because she knows the emotions Defiant must be feeling. She's felt the very same in the past. The raw anger that boils up and threatens all reason.

She frowns down at the battle in progress, her eyes widening owlishly when she spots Something Else in the suit. She changes her focus away from the suit and onto whatever that is, provided it's not masked. She tries to determine how masked it is within the presence of the suit, and how complex of a spell she would need in order to reveal it or read it. First, she speaks a soft sound at a whisper to help focus her vision on it, the spell distorting the air around her in subtle ways.

"Justice isn't engineered to make you feel good about the outcome," she cooly tells Saint, probably more aware of the situation Saint would end up in than some would be. Her mind trails on to a single thought: 'I should be there so Defiant doesn't go overboard... He might.'
Frederica     It's kind of appropriate, Frederica taking on the elementalist. Useful too, to oppose ranged power with ranged power. Few can stand at range against Frederica and exchange elemental power without ending up regretting it.

The flaming breath continues to hurl out, FireFox not relenting her attack. She changes her attack in one aspect however. Rather than continuing to attack Dobrynja's feet, she lets the attack traverse upwards, cone of fire opposing elemental lightning. In the clash of power, at least at first, neither attack can penetrate. Still, few opponents can sustain slinging raw energy at the same intensity and duration as Frederica. She has no doubts of the outcome of this contest, and doesn't mind turning it static (as it were) to shield herself from harm.

FireFox laughs. The sound, stressed and slightly bitter, doesn't interfere in the slightest with her flaming 'breath' output. She's only appearing to breathe fire after all. The flame's actually coming from her will, not from her throat. "You think we don't know who and what he is?" she laughs. "YOU don't know who WE are! Surrender to us rather than Defiant. You won't be spared justice, but you could be spared from him!" she taunts. Then again, she might be serious. Would she oppose Defiant's intentions for Saint? Well... perhaps. If it were the right thing to do. His feelings are likely to cause some serious grief if this continues, she figures. Not that it's any of her business... unless the Dragonslayers MAKE it her business.
Rebound     The kangaroo backflips off of her target after making impact, and lands in a combat stance, only to soon find herself having that white foam sprayed at her. She cartwheels to the side, and thinks she evaded it, but finds her right hand covered in the stuff, and stuck to the ground, "Oh come on!" She yells out, pulling her hand at the foam, but it seems to have her locked down pretty tightly.

Well if you can't break the foam, break the stuff around it. Rebound lifts one of her feet and kicks at the ground under the foam, trying to smash it enough to free her hand. She'll get free this way and then use the foam covered fist to smash the robot suit.
Tomoe Tomoe is going to have some questions to ask after this is over ot Defiant about that comment Saint made. For now however she's got to deal with what's going on she's looking to see Mags seems to be handle dby Rebound. She's taking flight even in the close confines of the complex she dearly wishes there were some trees about as she's got an idea.

"My friend speaks well you will be trested properly by the Union if you have issues with Defiant."

She then seeks to dive bomb Dobrybnja and attemps to dive by slices at ther armour with the japanese polearm that now seems to be on /fire/.
Defiant      Defiant leaps at Saint, shield held high. He brings the edge of it down on Saint's head, crushing the helm of the suit down into the neck and chest. Saint staggers back, getting a grip of Defiant and half shoves-half throws him against a brick wall. The cape is back into the fight in a second, driving his knee into Saint's abdomen. He's lost his spear at some point, it looks like.

Dobrynja's electrical projector continues to blast away at Frederica, almost blinding in its intensity. "Never surrender," the man behind the suit growls in heavily accented English - Russian accent, by the sound of it. Still, he's losing the duel. The suit steps back, puts all of its pressure on one weakened ankle joint for but a second...

...and the joint snaps. Dobrynja goes down but he's already trying to roll the bulky suit off its back - difficult, thanks to that wheel generator - and onto its front, so he can get back up and keep fighting. Good thing Tomoe immediately leaps onto him and begins hacking at the thick armor plating with her naginata.

Crack! Rebound breaks the ground beneath the foam, clobbering Mags with it as the third member of Saint's group tries to close the gap. The suit staggers under the blow. "W-wait!" Mags says from inside her suit, "We can surrender to you guys and not to /him/?"

Defiant growls out an inarticulate sound as he shield bashes Saint once again, kicks him into a wall, and drops his elbow onto Saint's arm - the nanofield there shears right through, quite literally disarming Saint on one side. Saint blasts Defiant point blank with some sort of cannon, gaining a moment's respite.

It gives Ainsley a good look at Saint's Cawthorne though. Whatever's in it isn't whole, it's a piece of someone. A remnant. Broken, bound. It feels like Dragon - but that can't be right.
Frederica     Frederica considers the request, and if she's willing to oppose Defiant. He's probably mad with grief. She can't see how he couldn't be mad with grief, after what happened. SHE would be, surely, in his place. And ... well, what are his various bizarre behaviours if not madness of a sort?

Then she realises, she doesn't have to oppose Defiant. He's already given his permission for them to take the Dragonslayers, so long as he gets Saint. And Saint doesn't appear to want to surrender.

The woman, Mags, is the one FireFox addresses. "You can surrender to me if you want, or to us." she agrees pleasantly. With Tomoe's aid she can relax her attention, maintain the mental program that's countering Dobrynja while also carrying on a conversation. He's beat, surely, with the pair of them fighting him. She doesn't need to use her full concentration. For that matter... she doesn't need to be FireFox. She reaches up, pushing the mask and her entire costume hood free, showing her face, shaking out her golden hair. "You don't HAVE to settle for what Defiant wants to do to you." she says, voice reasonable. "You destroyed his love. Honestly, I don't know what he has in mind. I don't really WANT to know." she adds.
Ainsley     "What the hell...?"

Ainsley is baffled, and tries to use a spell to focus on it, to pierce through the layers and read what's in there. But the sign of Dragon isn't as simple as a brand. She knows the magic wouldn't just show her that, but she has no idea about why any piece of Dragon would be held within a piece of technology, but her guess is that something was kept from her. If it were a separate entity with its own Name in there, then that means-- "Oh no."

"Defiant! Do NOT destroy his suit!" she calls toward Defiant, using her radio signal and a bit of magic to try to get the urgency through to him beyond the fog of brutality and battle. She finds a perch so she's focusing as hard as she can. She pulls out a piece of technology of her own, and scans it with her Sight. "There's something in the suit!" She hisses while she etches symbols into the back of her device. She's doing this so that she can steal the data off the suit, if it's really what she thinks it is and she can't get Defiant to stop.

"It's Dragon! I don't know how, but... Don't destroy it."
Rebound     "You can surrender to her, sure!" Rebound says, after knocking Mags for a loop with the foam covered fist. The kangaroo jumps up to try to land on top of Mags' suit, starting to pound away at it with that closed fist, slamming at the plates, "But you better do it quick, 'cause I don't think I'm gonna be stopped!"

She swings again, and then drops off of the armor, planting herself back on her tail and raising up, to kick Mags' armor with both feet at once, her signature maneuver. If Mags' is going to give up, she better make up her mind soon, because Rebound intends to break that suit beyond repair, and the woman inside, if she can get that far.
Tomoe Tomoe is keeping up with the attacks. She hears Mag's reaction and she calls out.

"Yes you can surrender to the Union rather than Defiant."

She gets the idea they don't want to die and expect to die if Defiant gets his hands on them. So she's backing up the offer yes, she understands Defiant isn't thinking clearly due to the grief, so this is part why she's pushing this so hard.

She'll then chant in nordic, runes fly about her and a second later a bolt of fire is launched at Dobrynja.
Defiant      "I didn't want us to," Mags tells Frederica, loudly as Rebound kicks her down and begins hammering away at the suit. The metal plating bends, buckles... "I thought we could harness her, but Saint... I'll stand down, surrender my armor. Just don't let Defiant kill Geoff - please! Mischa, we've lost, this is our only chance. Power down the Wyrmiston."

The wheel on the back of the Wyrmiston suit stops spinning and Dobrynja stops struggling.

"No," Defiant calls out, even as he grabs Saint's suit by the shoulders and slams him against the ground. Once, twice, three times. "It's not her! I'll explain later - but destroying this thing would be a kindness!" Defiant slams his glowing fists into the chest of Saint's war-machine and begins ripping it to pieces, hurling great pieces of metal aside like they're plastic. In moments, he has the man himself and Defiant unceremonously tears him from the suit and hurls him to the side. Saint is quick, managing to get to his feet, but Defiant already has him by the throat.

"Geoffrey Pellick, you are under arrest for illegal apprehension of Protectorate property, destruction of public property, reckless use of parahuman abilities or technology, and multiple counts of murder, including Dragon. Do not resist any further."
Frederica     It takes a little effort for Frederica to stop producing flame. She's angry, and her flame's always a little hard to stop when her emotions are amped. Still they're doing the right thing, surrendering. It helps her to rein in her own power. The fan of flame pulls back, but she doesn't simply swallow it. Instead she directs the flame, making it wrap around her to form a sphere. Only when it's formed that sphere does she begin to dissipate it; the flame collapsing spectacularly as if sucked into a void.

Instead of flame, she steps up to help take physical command of the two surrendered Dragonslayers. 'Help' meaning standing behind both Golden and Tomoe, both of which are far better at physicality than she is, while she directs things with her magnificent presence and subtle threat of moar flame.
Ainsley     Ainsley deactivates her Sight and frowns to herself while she watches the suit get torn apart, having listened to Defiant's words. She hovers in for a landing, standing over Saint with a passive gaze. She observes his state, being something called a 'Tinker zero' meant that he wasn't even a real Tinker. He shouldn't have been able to steal and reverse-engineer a Dragoncraft, but... The puzzle pieces come together in the lizard woman's head and the truth of the matter comes to her, at least as a theory, the most likely explanation.

"I'll go with you, Defiant. I want you to explain in-person," she says in a mellow tone of voice. "I think I'm starting to understand all of this..."
Rebound     Rebound gives Mags' mech one last kick for good measure, "Get the hell out of that thing." She snarls at Mags, "You're pathetic, you know that? Think you're all high and mighty because you got this fancy peice of tech that you stole, then when somebody goes to town on you, you cower and surrender first thing."

She's still ready to strike again if Mags decides to not disengage herself from the armor, "How many people have you killed, huh? How many civilians, how many capes? Why? What's the point of it all? I want an answer, damnit. Your boss just got torn out of his suit, and I don't think Defiant is going to play nice. But you got me, lady. And I can be pretty mean too." Rebound isn't even from this world, but she also grew up idolizing superheroes and to know that Saint and his crew were responsible for so many deaths, it really pisses her off.
Tomoe Tomoe is also backing down as they are surrendering her weapon is no longer on fire but it's still kept ready.. She does move in ahead to handl things as she knows that Frederica is not a up close brawler like she really is. She's going to do her best to bring them in at this point. She does want to know what the hell droves these guys to /do/ this.
Defiant      Defeated, heads bowed, Mischa and Margaret clamber out of their armor. "I didn't want it to go this way," Mags protests to Rebound. "You have to believe me on this. There just wasn't any other way." Mischa, a heavyset, bearded man, says nothing, even under the threat of FireFox and her flame. But the pair are easily enough directed towards the Pendragon which has settled nearby.

There's a quiet zap as Defiant runs a charge through his gauntlet and Saint slumps in his grip. He turns his helmet, dented and scarred, in Ainsley's direction. "I will," is all he says, throwing Saint over one armored pauldron.

At the Pendragon, Miss Militia is waiting with six sets of heavy-duty cuffs - wrists and ankles, it looks like. She places a hand on Defiant's arm as he steps inside the craft, telling him something quietly.

It's easy enough to cuff the Dragonslayers and they don't resist. To Ainsley, Defiant says, "I won't explain here. Not around Saint's people. But I think the truth is going to out sooner rather than later at this rate."
