Scarlet Everille     6/27 is something of a significant date to be paying an officially sponsored visit, though nobody should be aware of the tradition/private hobby that the selection was based in just yet. The oddity is that Psyber and those he was allowed to bring with his available guest slots aren't given any street address or global coordinates to go to on the designated time. Rather, they are all specifically called to the Everille Manor, let past the gates and herded through the unnecessarily spacious inner household by a fleet of service staff in a hurry.

Skipping the usual welcome pleasantries for the sake of a tight schedule, they are lead into a somewhat bare room somewhere on the basement floor, being nothing of note but a cube of white marble supported by four pillars surrounding a low, wide plinth the height of a coffee table and the size of couple of parking spaces, the entire surface of which is inscribed in literal kilometers of fine, intricate lines filled in with what appears to be liquid mercury. Scarlet is waiting for them in school uniform, somehow managing to look white-tie-worthy in it.

"We've got 15 minutes here so I'll be brief. You have official guest allowance in Heliosanctus up until midnight. That means full freedom to go anywhere on the grounds except for instructor-only areas. I strongly advise you to consider the gravity of the place you're in before you go wandering however. The reason we're taking a translocation circle is because the building has no physical entrances and its actual location is a closely guarded secret. It only accepts 9 students every year, all of which are rank 5 at minimum by age 12, all of which are paying 6 figures a year for their tuition, and all of which are bound by magical contract while on grounds as a mandatory aspect of admission. The entire place is under recorded surveillance at all times and warded by 27 different mages. This is the single most exclusive school in the country, and one of the foremost in the world. Please, please, please don't go running around and knocking things over."

She stops talking to quickly hand out some form of leather bound information pamphlet to each person in turn, and then indicates towards the circle. "I'm sure I can trust you all to not do anything embarrassing though." She glances towards Arthur. "So, after you~"
Nozomi Houken     If anyone was going to play the part of utterly bewildered tourist, it would be Nozomi Houken, wouldn't it? She's dressed in the most formal configuration of her school uniform she possibly can, and even Taiga seems to have been buffed until his plating shines like obsidian. But though she's here for Psyber and she has the /basic/ gist of where they're going, the specifics are still a bit beyond the girl, and Scarlet's explanation only seems to leave her looking more puzzled than before. 'They have only until midnight', 'she shouldn't go places that are off-limits', 'don't cause a ruckus', and 'this place is expensive' seem to be the key points here, and those at least she can keep in mind.

And oh, here's a leatherbound tome. Except it's a pamphlet. "Ah, thanks," Nozomi murmurs reflexively. "I-I'll try not to cause problems."

She pretty much has no idea what she's doing here aside from 'following a suggestion she get out more', does she?
Guest Psyber     Psyber has arrived and is dressed in a more scholarly outfit than the half-angel more commonly wears. It's likely the exact outfit he wears when he teaches his normal classes at Miskatonic, so it's not too hard to imagine him wearing it here. A grey suit with a sky blue undershirt and sapphire tie. He has a leather messenger-bag style briefcase slung over one shoulder and is probably hiding at least one firearm somewhere on his person.

"Greetings, Miss Everille. As per invitation, I have prepared a guest lecture about my specialty and area of study," He notes, sounding more formal and business-like than he usually does, "Despite my own suspicions that this is less out of academic interest and more a publicity attempt by the school. Nonetheless, I am prepared to delivery a full lecture as well as field questions," He concludes, adjusting his tie.

"I will attempt to follow your school's wishes and remain as respectful and acknowleding of guidelines as possible." The pamphlet is taken and placed in his bag to be read later. It's slipped between several stacks of paper and some cream-colored folders.
Kaname Madoka     Madoka arrives a bit later at the manor than she would like, but before she has the opportunity to apologize for any perceived tardiness, she's promptly led to the basement floor of Everille Manor. And before she can ask anyone about the specifics of what's going on, Scarlet pre-empts her question with a tidy reply... that is absolutely rife with numbers. 'Rank 5 by age 9.' '6 figures.' Then of course, 'surveillance by 27 different mages.' Any well formulated questions that may have been in her head before are banished to a realm of imagination far beyond what her mind's eye can see, and maybe that's why her /physical/ eyes so quickly gloss over. She was wrong -- so wrong; this isn't like Mitakihara, this is like the Noble Quarter. Actually, no, it kind of -is- the Noble Quarter. As soon as she's able to grasp what that means, she starts to blush.

She -wants- to say that she doesn't feel like she deserves to be going here, she -wants- to duck out so that she doesn't have the chance to provoke any attention... but she knows how that would go down. If Scarlet didn't tell her that 'it will be fine' -- to her, it's really a toss-up as to whether Scarlet would say that or agree with her -- then Psyber would step in. And Psyber... well, she really likes him, and appreciates him, and he -does- have a really neat habit of looking after her, but. But! He might do the fatherly thing: he might stand up for her even when she would really rather -not- stand for herself. So she just shrinks into the background, keeps absolutely silent, and braces herself for the visual cacophony of sight, sound, color, and excess that Heliosanctus will inevitably thrust in front of her.

Even with that thought thought, she can't stay completely removed for long. She semi-consciously shuffles over in Psyber's direction some time between Scarlet's address and Arthur's reply, flashing him a meek smile before making small talk. To calm her down, mostly! "Hey, Psyber." Her hands immediately wrap behind her back, and she starts to sway -- the quietest gesture of nervousness that she knows. "So, um... is this another plan? Like, were you just called out here because you're smart and they wanted to hear from you, or is this a part of how we're helping Scarlet?" She glances in the mentioned girl's direction briefly before hastily adding, "O-Or I guess that it could be both, I don't know. I'm just getting used to us always doing something kinda sneaky whenever we're here. Not that that's a problem or anything, just..."

Then she trails off, gaze focusing back on the floor. She dashes one of her shoes across the floor, mostly in an effort to give her something else to focus on. It's sort of embarrassing! She came close to saying how she really felt out loud... and she's pretty sure that she made the loudest implication possible. Honestly, though, it would be nice if they could just relax now and then. But Scarlet... Scarlet is just one of those people who always seems to be busy. Reminds her of a few other people that she knows.
Maya Maya had pulled on Favours back home and now Selena Campbell has a paper trail to the school that Maya said she was from. The Dean had owed Maya fairly largely given her actions in the Heratic war? It was a simple enough thing that she asked him to do. So here she is now dressed up and ready for this day. Maya gets the idea this is not the sort of place to pick a fight. Though her history with this social level leaves her uneasy.

"Miss Everille, I will make every effort to prevent antthing that would harm your reputation today. I have a short demo ready of fate magic which might be of intrest."

Maya's got a folder under arm with some hand outs ready.

"I think your right it may just be a stunt of that nature but well it's a chance to learn, right?"

Maya looks to Madoka and gives the young lady a smile.

Maya also has another reaosn keeping the cover up, it was less messy than if people went into sniffing about Maya the Junker of Two.
Kyra Hyral     Unlike the previous 'mission' to this world with Heaven or Hell's assistance to Scarlet's investigation, Kyra actually put some effort into cleaning up a little before visiting. As a result, she looks completely different from usual, especially given that the majority of people here have not seen her without her hoodie on. Instead, she's opted for the official pieces of the Alexander Academy uniform...though to include one of the boy jackets over top her blouse which still pairs with the skirt extremely well. Her footwear is a little bit more normal with half-calf high leather boots instead of the big, noisy jangly ones she usually wears.

Without a hood on, her shoulder length red hair is visible. She's carefully styled it to sweep over her forehead rather than parting it, concealing a red welt. A brief glance at her face and ears would reveal...that she's left all her piercings in.

Kyra appears to be unarmed or concealing her weapons extremely well. She carries with her a backpack shaped like an adorable, fuzzy Moogle. "Oh, I plan to be on my best behavior." Kyra grins at Scarlet, "Just for you. Though wow, only nine students a year? That's kind of crazy. But then again, you don't have a very big applicant pool here. Not enough to fill up a moon at least."

Spying Madoka, Kyra quietly edges over to her. She doesn't try to grab the girl's attention quite yet, as she is talking with Psyber. But should he turn back to answer, Kyra hopes to be there in his line of sight where she can give the half-angel a grin. But eventually she does speak up. "Oh, there's nothing sneaky about tonight. Just an honest opportunity for a bunch of extraversals like us to see a very exclusive school."
Kaname Madoka     Madoka... actually seems to jump a little when another voice replies to her question! Whose...? Oh. Kyra. Madoka squeezes her hands into fists for that little added bit of comfort she needs when dealing with new faces, then gives her best smile. Her reply should /probably/ be more reassuring than it is, so... she makes out that it is, and hopes for the best. "O-Oh, really?" She gives a decidedly theatrical little sigh. "Good. It's not that I don't want to help Scarlet, but it's sort of nerve-wracking when you know how many... rich, dangerous people are involved." Not that being in a school full of the world's foremost magical prodigies will be any less horrifying on its own power, but she'll keep that little bit to herself. And hey, who knows? Maybe they'll be a lot nicer than she thinks!

... she really hopes so. Erudite people can be so intimidating.
Arthur Lowell     Arthur, at least, knows not to wear GODHOOD ROBES while he wanders around a magic school. It would be sort of impolite. He's swapped outfits, of course, to something at least ostensibly formal, though he insists on going as casual as possible. The button-down thing is something he makes as aggressively shabby and coolkid-esque as possible. As for the welcome, well, if nobody's gonna give Arthur snacks to snack on here, he can play it cool.

He's unarmed, of course, inasmuch as he can ever be unarmed, and he's... Well, not turning off his magical aura, at least, clearly obvious to any senses. But he does fall in line. "YO, I ain't gonna make TROUBLE for you, start makin' SHIT between YOU and your SCHOOL CHUMS or whatever." He shrugs, casually. "YEAH, I'll keep the SICK FIRES all TONED BACK, unless someone STEPS IN at me or whatev'." He then blinks a moment, and scratches his head through his thick hair. "Yeah, this is actually the FIRST TIME I've ever been to, like... A SCHOOL. Besides the FIGHTY ONE, I mean. Huh."

He snags the leatherbound pamphlet, twirls it on one finger, and starts leafing through it as he takes a stance in the middle of the circle that's as cool as he can possibly make it, clearly calculated to look as natural as possible.
Arthur Lowell     "The way you GET USED to shit bein' all SNEAKY is to NOT BE SNEAKY AT ALL. These sons of bitches are gonna be SUSPICIOUS AS HELL of some BULLSHIT SHENANIGANS goin' on up in here, so you keep 'em ON YOUR TOES by doin' WHATEVER THE FUCK and bein' HONEST, and then, HEY! Eventually they CATCH ON." Arthur asides, to Madoka, clearly obnoxiously evesdropping on her conversations like a jerk.
Arthur Lowell     "Well SHIT," Arthur says, grinning at Kyra. "Aren't you lookin' ANIME AS HELL, you're gonna FIT RIGHT IN up in that shit. How's shit been HANGIN' since the..." He stops, and thinks for a moment. "OH YEAH! Beatin' up all those catgirls. That was GREAT TIMES. How's stuff been HANGIN' since THEN?" He grins wide, as if that's just one hundred percent normal things to say.
Guest Psyber     Psyber's acknowledgement of Madoka's presence is to plant a hand on top of her pink hair and to gently pat her head a couple times. He doesn't say anything reassuring or comforting, but leaves it at the simple gesture for Madoka before answering her, "I was asked to give a guest lecture about my specialty topic: Supernatural Cohabitation." This answer is as much to Arthur as it is to Madoka, though more specific to Arthur he says, "This is my secondary speciality beyond 'beating things', as Arthur likes to put it."

Kyra gets a greeting in the form of a raised hand and a slight wave, "Kyra. I don't think I've ever seen you actually in uniform. You look nice," He says, knowing it's not her preferred outfit but still opting to pay her a compliment in return for the effort she took in cleaning herself up.

"I doubt someone like you could ever cause problems," Psyber adds with some finality to Nozomi, trying to get her to relax and not be in her head so much about the mission she's on, "Just act natural and I'm sure you'll fit right in, Miss Houken."
Arthur Lowell     Nozomi gets a chuckle at her sort of bewildered following. "YO, been a while! How's YOU and PREDACON been hhandlin' shit, huh? Girl, your idea of CAUSIN' PROBLEMS sounds like 'ANYTHING THAT WOULD MAKE ANYONE LOOK AT YOU', just stay SOMEWHERE NEAR ME and I ONE HUNDRED PERCENT GUARANTEE I'll cause way more problems than you'd ever cause, yo. That way nobody will give a DAMN what you do WRONG." There's that tooth-gleaming grin, and a snapped fingergun, one at Nozomi and the other at Taiga.
Kaname Madoka     To Arthur, Madoka just stares. Her hands unclasp just so they can reunite at her chest as she just... sort of... nervously fidgets. The way her eyes are bugging out of her head right now would be adorable if it wasn't so absolutely heartrending. She looks like a puppy whose owner is throwing a fit about something, which is the natural reaction to language like Arthur's when you've never really heard it before, or had time to learn the difference between an angry inflection and a boisterous one.
Arthur Lowell     "You, uh... You OK THERE, Li'l Pink? You're lookin' a little DEER IN HEADLIGHTS up in here. What, do I got something HORRIFYIN' in my teeth?" Arthur looks at Madoka and utterly fails to understand her reaction.
Kaname Madoka     The pat on her head from Psyber seems to snap her out of that shock-trance which Arthur had put her in, though, so all is well. Wow, he even gets her to giggle a little! Mostly at the part about 'beating things', just because. Then with a renewed sense of vigor, she nods. "Hehehe. Okay~. I think I actually like that specialty a little more, if you don't mind me saying."

She looks straight ahead, probably letting her gaze wander back to Scarlet. Because any talent that involves getting people to -not- hurt eachother is usually better in her book... even if pacifism might be a little ironic to bring up after she giggled there. But whatever!
Maya Maya looks to Kyra again and pauses at Pysbers words.

"I agree you do look nice and I wasn't even sure your school had a single uniform."

Given how diverse all the students from the school had been in terms of dress. She also looks to Psyber and nods a little bit to him.

"It's something your very skilled at, you sould do well with this, Psyber."

Maya is going to act natural and then she just peers at Arthur, now Maya's not entirely shocked she knows him somewhat also Arthur is qell quite teh character.

"Your in good spirits, Arthur."
Nozomi Houken     Arthur's appraisal of her troublemaking skills is so spot on that all Nozomi can do is sort of fidget self-consciously, her cheeks heating up. At least until Arthur's focus is drawn to Madoka. The girl goes from grateful to be out from under his scrutiny, very quickly to feeling a certain degree of empathy for Madoka right this moment. She shoots the magical girl a sympathetic look.

Meanwhile, Taiga seems content to simply laze at her feet until it's time to go.
Kyra Hyral     Though she knows she just startled Madoka a little, Kyra seems less than concerned that she actually did so. When Madoka looks around at her, she'll see Kyra casually thumbing through the leather-bound literature that Scarlet distributed, but after a few seconds she looks up to meet Madoka's eyes. "Oh yeah, the high society intrigue can be pretty nerve-wracking, can't it? But I do know something about nobles...and that's deep down inside, they really want to impress you. Okay and maybe intimidate you a little." 'This isn't helping with that shyness' seems to be the thought that comes to Kyra next.

Fortunately, Psyber and Arthur provide convenient interruptions to this crumbling conversation with Arthur flat out making poor Madoka wilt in the face of his...Arthur-ness. "Gee Arthur, it's like I attend a huge anime as hell school or something." Kyra snarks right back at the Mage of Space with a grin on her face. "Besides a wicked headache? Everything's been pretty calm actually. I guess it's an okay change of pace. What about you? You sure look like you enjoyed yourself back there with the Miqo'te raid."

An embarassed look briefly touches her face as Psyber mentions her uniform. "Well I actually do wear it-" she points down at her skirt which, turns out, has been the skirt used for Alexander Academy's girl's uniform this whole time. DUN DUN DUUUUUN. "But it's mostly covered up by other stuff. Though I gotta say I think I liked your dumb American suit a little bit better than that one." Kyra smirks
Kaname Madoka     Arthur gets another round of confused, bewildered staring from Madoka, but this time she actually manages to make a few flustered (read: terrified) sounds under her breath. After a few 'Um's, then a good quantity of subsequent 'Uh's, the puella magi manages to quietly, meekly mutter, "... n-no, you're just... very... um... very..." Gotta choose this word /reaalllyy/ carefully. "... out... spoken?"

And that is the kindest word which will ever describe the Godkid's speech quirk.
Scarlet Everille     The pamphlet seems to be basic information that would be given out to a prospective student, but one that assumes a certain level of intermediate knowledge. There's a long list of graduation names that must be at least semi-famous to show off, an even longer list of facilities, resources, instructors and awards that must all be very impressive, and a brief summary of the application process, which includes an insane 25,000 pound fee just to be assessed before being accepted or rejected, instantly ruling out anyone who isn't supremely confident in their abilities before they can waste anyone's time.

School rules are essential purchases are included, most of which appear to be the usual, save for the clause about mandatory contract magic which meticulously forbids all forms of violent activity towards students, instructors and school property, and places a limit on how far familiars are allowed to wander from students, but very surprisingly, not much else. A sample timetable shows that classes run far longer and later than they really should, and term summaries indicate unreasonable amounts of homework. The mandatory outreach hours are detailed near the end, starting in 5th year. Apparently there are 9 classes of 9 at all times, though one is more of a prepatory class than anything. Lastly, there is a short blurb of history involving the school's centuries old roots to its government acknowledged status and the construction of the current campus 90 years ago, which feels incredibly strange when one realizes this means it was built in 2005.

"Oh I wouldn't be so sure about a publicity stunt angle." Scarlet says to Psyber. "It wasn't that easy to persuade them to let you come. After all, they've never been hard pressed for applicants. This is more about staying ahead of the curve than anything else. All the most successful mage organizations are the ones that modernize quickly". That may be the rationale the idea had been accepted under, but secretly, she had been beating them over the head with the idea for a while for the simple purpose of putting her classmates in her place. After all, she was the only one who hadn't chosen some kind of government or corporate affiliation to start with. There are some opinions on her commitment to success that need "adjusting".

"I'll be honest Madoka, nothing really goes on here without some kind of ulterior motive. In this case though, that motive being integration with the multiverse is pretty agreeable, don't you think?" The smile she flashes her manages to be deeply reassuring while also somehow a little tongue-in-cheek. She claps her hands together at Maya. "That's perfect! As long as you don't blow anyone up of course, but I've already ruled you out as an amateur a while back~"

She turns to Kyra next. "It's an old tradition based around influence from the Holy Roman Empire on the original gaelic tribes. It's the number 3 multiplied by 3, and then multiplied by 3 again to get 27 instructors. This goes all the way back to the druids. It's also part of the reason tuition is so high. Education isn't cheap to begin with, but magic is even more expensive." She visibly stifles a giggle as a totally-not-calculated move at Arthur. "Just be your usual, charming self. Don't start any fights and you'll be fine."

At that however, she turns to everyone at large. "I will warn you though. Not all of the students and staff will feel any kind of respect for you. A few might express some displeasure at your presence. Don't take it personally. Some of them never really interact with people outside of their strata, so they can be a little out of touch with reality."
Arthur Lowell     Arthur waits for Madoka to collect her words long enough to say "EMPHATIC." With a broad gesticulation, right as she's about to finish up the word 'outspoken'. "I am ALL up in that STRONG EMPHASIS shit."

And then whirling back to Kyra. "SHIT YES I did. SIMPLE and STRAIGHTFORWARD FIGHTS, bit of ADVENTURING, bit of LOOTING, it's GREAT SHIT. I LOVE it." He pounds one fist into the opposite palm -- where did that pamphlet go? -- before he goes back to the reading -- wait, where did it COME FROM? As he does, he asides to Maya, with a wide grin. "HELL YEAH, I've always got the HIGHEST SPIRITS. I am the TOP SOUL GUY up in this shit.

He grins at Scarlet, after she gives her own warning. "Hey, they wanna BRING THE HEAT?" Arthur grins wide. "They better get ready for the FIRES. Ain't gonna come outta there PUNCHING or anything, but some dude STEPS IN at me, I'mma show him what a REAL SICK BURN is like. Otherwise, I'll keep my shit UNDER CONTROL, don't worry."
Scarlet Everille     Scarlet steps into the circle after everyone else, being the person required to actually activate it. Even with such a large group, there's still quite a bit of space to stand in, meaning it has probably been used for big occasions before. The process is very quick, but more than a little disconcerting. There's no need for a flashy light and sound show, and so the only hint that anything has been activated at all is the silver fluid suddenly running black. The world goes the same colour around everyone the next second, but for the barest fraction of an instant, there is the overpowering impression of something, or a great number of things, moving just out of sight. A kind of crowded, hostile writhing, like hungry animals pressed to the glass of a cage. The sensation is accompanied by a snatch of some sort of endless, monotone screech, and then elevator-esque stomach lurching as the lights turn back on.

The platform everyone is left standing on is almost identical, but only one of many interspersed in a wide ring about an utterly massive room. The lobby is three stories high for absolutely no reason, riddled with massive, heavily ornamented pillars and ledges and with engraving like someone had attempted to recreate the Sistine Chapel without a brush. It's unmistakably a callback to 15th century architecture, but the floors are all clean, black and white checkerboard, and various projected holographics overhead produce screens showing directions, class timetables, events, extracurricular activities, and minor news, with Psyber's lecture being heavily featured. Pulsing arrows have been marked across the floor in the same way, indicating the way for guests. The number of halls that branch off seems utterly stupid for a place that supposedly has just over 100 people in it, not counting whoever might work there in a non-educational capacity, if anyone at all.

The central feature dominating the room, meant to hit first time students on their first day, is a statue that occupies almost half the available space, probably weighing hundreds of tons, and certainly not actually carved by hand. It depicts four, gigantic figures of some kind, entwined together to support one smaller one at the top. "Figures" is about the only way to describe them, as none of them look particularly human save the smallest, including bizarre configurations of limbs, extrusions and iconography that resemble something closer to a description of an old testament angel. The human at the top is purposefully blank and androgynous, and affixed with a golden celtic cross as a portrait of Jesus would depict a halo. Close examination finds that one of the figures is, in fact, Sevaquiel.

The only sounds of human habitation are distant and echoed, despite the fact that small handfuls of students can actually be seen here and there. The only one actually waiting is an exceptionally tall man in his mid 30s, with short, deliberately half-messy black hair and bright red eyes, wearing a kind of long jacket in the school's colours that looks like it could almost be military dress, if it wasn't left unbuttoned. He extends his hand towards Psyber immediately, one arm held behind his back. "Right on time. You'd be Psyber, I suspect. Elde. A pleasure to meet you. I'd ask everyone's names, but the students are already waiting."
Guest Psyber     Psyber gives Kyra a slight smile, "Very few students enjoy the Professor suit. I'm not the easiest person to study under, as many people learn," He grins a bit and then he places his hands into the pockets of his suit, "That particular outfit will remain shelved until its useful again, though. I rarely enjoy being that obstructionist."

Arthur gets a grin, though, shortly after this, "I'm sure your fuel tank for the sick burns will never run dry, if people are going to step in against you. I could have used you a couple weeks ago when this four foot tall girl was going around giving people the business around my city. Needed your fires around then," Psyber notes to Arthur, waving his hand a bit dismissively after this.

Madoka gets a smile, "You can imagine my specialty as whatever you want it to be. It's why I call myself a Private Investigator instead of a Hunter nowadays," He notes, giving her a wink and then patting the top of her head again when she giggles.

He doesn't have any other witticisms left in him as the entire surroundings change to something much more ostentatious and the sensation of eerie movement. He takes a couple moments to re-orient himself. Despite only ever allowing people to use magical teleportation on him, it's still a disorienting sensation for him to go through.

The overall feel and design of the hall does give him some pause. Even as a professor in the Ivy League, this is pretty ostentatious and overwrought. He looks around a bit and takes in the sights, before looking over towards Elde, "People call me Psyber, yes. Pleasure to meet you, Elde. If we're already behind schedule, we should proceed quickly. An institute like this should not have its time wasted," Psyber states politely, erring more towards formality than his relaxed demeanor.
Nozomi Houken     Despite its short duration, the teleport is unsettling enough that for a moment or two after, Nozomi is shivering, her eyes wide. Taiga actually seems concerned - or at least as concerned as a robotic tiger can look - but she gives him a small shake of the head, and he seems content to take that as assurance she'll be fine.

The soaring architecture and futuristic holography do serve quite well to distract the girl, for that matter. Her gaze sweeps from statue to signpost hologram to ceiling to statue to tall man back to statue... There's enough to take in that she forgets her faint distress over the teleportation almost immediately. "...there are only about a hundred people here...?" she murmurs, amazed. "It seems so huge." She doesn't forget, however, to stick close to Arthur.

And of course, Taiga ambles along nonchalantly with her, heedless of what his paws or claws might do to the checkerboard tile.
Kyra Hyral     "I hope this tradition gives this place power in some form because it certainly doesn't give additional tuition money. Just going to get that out now before we go in because I bet that would have offended somebody." Kyra confides to Scarlet. "I see you weren't exaggerating about your workload either." To contrast the excessive amounts of schoolwork, Kyra tries to find information on how many days and years enrollment usually lasts.

A frown slowly overcomes her. "I can get the students acting like stuck-up xenophobes, but the teachers too? I'm kinda having second thoughts here."

More importantly, she grins at Arthur, "Well I know I'm going back to Hydaelyn for future stuff. You should come along again, Arthur, we could wreck some faces."

The smirk at Psyber continues, "Soon." she tells him, "I've already got most of the paperwork ready for your school."

Away they go! Kyra gets inordinately excited at the teleportation for personal reasons and utter distraction at her surroundings follows. She tries to get a selfie in with the huge, elaborate statue in the background but can only manages small pieces of it due to its size and the angle of her phone.
Maya Maya is taking the various pamphlet she's looking over. That massive pile of cash was more than some people on worlds like this would make in a whole year of work. this was pretty serious business after all when it came to mage craft. She looks to Scarlet for a moment grinning faintly.

"It wasn't my intention to make use of direct attack spells or summons. Also thank you that means quite a bit from you."

Maya had a whole lot of power but she lacked the refinement that magic users like Scarlet had.

She also makes notes of what Scarlet is sharing on the local forms of magic. She listens for a moment and she shrugs.

"So long as they are not trying to sell me off to slavers I doubt there will be a problem. I'm also used to being on the bottom of the heap."

She then turns her attention to Arthur for a moment she smirks.

"Ha, good to hear and at some point we may need to talk about a few things. Related to our worlds."

However it's soon time fo people to get moviung she nods to hteir host politely and she falls in line.
Kaname Madoka     At first, all Madoka can give Kyra in the form of a reply is an awkward little nod. She knows that that would make her feel a little bad on its own, though, so she adds this in supplement: "But I think I'll be okay. Thanks." After another moment of silence, she adds, "I think I can even relate to that a little. I mean, I try my best to make good impressions on people too, you know? I just... probably do it a little differently." -Then- she lets herself go silent, joining her hands at her waist and resuming her swaying motions. She glances back and forth between a few of the others present here and there, focusing on Psyber at intervals for a spot of comfort.

Scarlet's reply, though, isn't exactly met by the same smiles as usual. "That... seems a little sad," Her words there manage to reach a degree of 'solemn' that might actually move someone. "Never being able to be honest. I-I mean, I don't want to be mean by saying it, but I would never be able to live with that. I guess you're just... sort of strong that way, Scarlet." That said, she can't claim that she -envies- her, exactly. In fact, nothing has ever made her more determined to try and be her friend. If she's ever wanted any solace from that, she'd like to give it to her; a little slice of a more normal life, and a more 'average' friendship. Looking at her now, though, she would kind of be surprised if she was even interested...

... but! Uh. All that fades from mind quickly enough as the translocation circle starts to work its magic. Immediately a sense of overwhelming vertigo hits her. The colors distort, the world seems to spin... and then, all of a sudden, she's staring up at the highest wall that she has ever seen in her life. Even if there aren't any profound, defining features of that wall considering the distinct lack of variation or color, that alone, the height, is enough to entrance her for a while. She was just in a portal, and now it feels like she hasn't even left. All too late does she realize that her staring upwards like that might seem a bit silly to those around her, because Elde is... right there! She snaps back to her senses in that instant, then opens her mouth to say something.

And then she doesn't. Introductions can wait, apparently, since a roomful of students is waiting somewhere else on campus. She gives a series of teeny nods before sinking back behind Kyra, Psyber, and Arthur again, though... oh. Hadn't Psyber said something to her before? Yeah, some time before her brain had been twisted up into knots. When she's able to recall what he initially said, she replies, "Then I'll choose to think that your /real/ specialty is something else so that you can do that cool thing from the movies. 'If I told you I would have to kill you', right?" She sticks out her tongue a little. Did she just tell a James Bond joke? Wow, that teleport really did fry her brain.

... or not. She starts blushing again a few seconds later.

For all other intens and purposes, she just follows the group wherever they go. She is... not really inclined toward the idea of exploring this place on her own right now. It's a little like a haunted house or something, just... with a lot more people in it. She's not really sure if that makes things better or worse either.
Arthur Lowell     Arthur's done most of his speaking for now, at least to Scarlet. This school is way too heavy for him, but he can at least appreciate the architecture and such once they emerge. "God DAMN, they sure went ALL OUT for some shit that only COUPLE HUNDRED PEOPLE ever get to see." He says, with a bemused tone, half-whispering to the rest of the group.

And then, Elde! Arthur does his best to pretend to be polite. "Oh, well, sure, let's not keep them waiting." He says, still full of some energy, so it's likely that this simple politeness is going to dissolve soon. He wanders on, intending to follow the way to the lecture hall.
Arthur Lowell     "Hey, SHORTSTACK drops up in YOUR TURF again, you gimmie a CALL." Arthur says, casually asiding to Psyber while he walks, making the phonecall gestures with his hands as he casually dismisses the pamphlet so he doesn't look like a newbie. He also slows down enough to let Nozomi stick by, and doesn't foist too much talking on her. Kyra gets a nod. "HELL YEAH, I'm PLANNIN' on it. Long as they got the CASH, I got the BEATINGS to bring 'em." There's a couple nods to Maya too. "There's MAD SURVEILS up in this shit, if it's WORLD BUSINESS let's get a TALK later, yeah? But SURE THING." He gives a few firm, businesslike nods.
Scarlet Everille     "Indeed! I'm sure you're familiar with how it goes. I hear you're a professor at a rather prestigious academy yourself in America, after all." Scarlet gives Psyber a glance that instantly communicates that it would be a bad idea to try and engage him on the topic of where exactly he teaches and what. Possibly due to the fact that she might have exaggerated it just a little. After all, the Ivy League is more or less irrelevant in this particular place and time. Everyone vaguely knows that it was a big deal in the states a long time ago, but very little other than that. She falls in step behind Elde as he begins walking at a brisk pace along the illuminated path, whispering under her breath "That's the headmaster." It's somewhat telling that he hadn't introduced himself as such.

To Nozomi, she remarks "It's partially practical. That space is needed to fit the necessarily powerful wards in and for all the familiars to get around. It might be just a little showy though~" She doesn't seem to be about to deny that it's kind of over the top. After all, it's important to make future bigshots in the world outside feel as if their education really had justified the utterly insane price tag. She sways a little closer to Kyra, leaning close to her ear. "Oh the instructors aren't so bad. Most of them have jobs outside of the school, it's just a couple of old-money weirdos you need to pay attention to, but they never really come out for things like this." She subtly seems to be avoiding Madoka though, possibly out of not knowing what exactly to say to something she probably thinks of as intensely naive. Strangely, Taiga's stride seems to do nothing to the floor. It doesn't seem to be magically protected so much as the stone itself is supernaturally hard.

The way forward is a bit of a hike, but not as bad as it had first seemed. The number of classrooms is relatively few, despite their overall massive dimensions, which is quite likely necessary for nine students and an instructor to have space to do high level magic. The destination is one of them in fact, as the building appears to have nothing that passes for a formal assembly room of any kind. It seems that a little over half of the student body has turned out, counting 40 some heads in total, a great number of which are barely teenagers, with far fewer in their late teens or early 20s. It seems pretty obvious that the room was originally designed to seat students in a circular arrangement around a main projection and platform, but the desks have been moved into a more traditional arrangement to face the front, and all of them are being used as computers at the moment.

Elde stops by the door, standing out of the way with his hands behind his back merely to observe, clearly expecting a high level of respect and discipline from the students if he doesn't have to introduce anyone, or else simply more interested to see how they'll react if they don't feel pressured to act a certain way by his presence. From the instant everyone is through the door, dozens of stares are upon them. The immediately obvious feature is that every one of said stares is some shade of red, violet or gold, all of which take shifts growing and diminishing in lumosity as every student shifts through several levels of sight magic to assess the Elites one by one. It's pretty clear when they get to Maya and Kyra, judging just by visual reactions. All except one anyways. A girl at the back row in ordinary green, sitting completely on her own, and yet the most genuinely interested-looking.
Scarlet Everille     The hall is immediately filled with the near-22nd century equivalent of gossipy whispering, being the furious tapping of touchscreens as students send masses of private messages to one another. Scarlet moves to take her place somewhere at the front row, and in doing so, immediately draws a huge bulk of attention. It seems pretty obvious that everyone would be looking at her for pushing this unusual idea, but for some reason, something about the wau the students look at her seems a little... off, somehow.

The silence is only momentarily broken as a boy from the second row raises his hand and jabs a finger towards Taiga.

    "What's that thing?"
Nozomi Houken     A hike though it may be, Nozomi keeps up rather well; she /does/ attend school, after all. A simple, brisk pace of exactly the sort developed by wallflowers everywhere to evade attention and avoid the embarrassment of being late to class, also serves quite well for actually, y'know, covering ground. With no bookbag to clutch or backpack straps to hold, however, she's left loosely holding her arms folded, looking around the halls as they go and listening to Scarlet's response. A mix of showmanship and actual need for space this big? That just leaves her wondering what magic lessons here are /like/, but the quiet girl isn't going to raise that question here.

What seems even stranger to her is their arrival in Psyber's lecture hall... or rather, seeing how many of the students are her age or even younger by a year or three. Especially with those scritinizing stares, the sort of look that almost makes Nozomi feel at home in a rather unpleasant way. Except for that one girl in the back - Nozomi's eyes find her, and she can't help being curious at one student that seems so different and genuine.

She's about to find herself somewhere unobtrusive to sit, a skill she's honed quite finely, when someone calls her out on Taiga. "E-eh? Ah, u-um, he's... w-well..."

It's Taiga that answers; he turns to face the young man directly, sitting down, and with his armor gleaming, the yellow crystals at various points glowing briefly, and the cannons mounted to his shoulders swivelling into slightly different positions as if to highlight their presence, the sentient weapon of a robotic feline declares in a simple, deep voice carrying a hint of disdain for such an obvious question:

    "I am her service animal."
Kyra Hyral     Kyra's quiet for a few moments, carefully considering what to say to Madoka. "Everyone wants to make a good first impression." she agrees quietly and quickly, "Well, except people who don't really care about what people think about them, but those people are really, really rare." She stops and things to Arthur, "Or they just want to make an impression."

The phone is slipped away as the group starts to gravitate to following Psyber and Elde.

"Well." she says quietly to Scarlet, "As long as they go shun us where we can't see it and not ruin this for Psyber. They can be miserable cranks in their locked offices."

When Kyra enters the lecture hall with the others, her immediate interest is caught by the room's architecture. That is quickly stolen when she notices a couple dozen Scan-like spells going off at all of them. She focuses to eye the students, half-considering shelling out a few Libra spells to size up the locals. On that, she decides to delay a few moments so she can do it when the lecture starts, hopeefully in a much more discrete manner.

But for the moment, Kyra will struggle to keep a straight face at Taiga's response to that blunt question.
Maya Maya will totally talk to Arthur later he's aware and up for it. Good that should make things fairly quick when the time comes for it. She will be happy to talk them she gives Arthur a nod before it's time for them to head ahead. She listens to their host with a good deal of intrest. Even dressed as she is maya does radiate a lot of magical power but well she's from off world so who knows how the locals will take to that. She does take notice of the lone gone who seems to be actually interestd in what they have to say. She does notice them working with the pads and she's going to take up her spot now. Maya look to Kyra for a moment and nods in grement.

Maya has an amusing idea part of her demo is going to include scanning the audiance with a spell.
Arthur Lowell     Arthur can walk. He's an RPG hero; it's practically all he did for a long time. He can also talk. Under the brash, arrogant exterior is a mind that's very keen, absolutely defined by being a mage, in all ways. And that means he knows mage social shenanigans. He already said he'd be Nozomi's social tank, and so he sticks to his word. "What, you don't already know?" Arthur says, raising an eyebrow and putting on the slightest bit of sneer, just the hint of a smirk, to make it seem like, well duh! You ought to know! "I thought you all kept up on magitech?" He glances to the others, with a pleasant smile and a smug look.

Let's make a good impression. The others are going to be socialites as hard as Scarlet is, and so Arthur focuses on making sure they hit the ground running. First, make sure that socially singling their group out is met with an impression that such a gesture is absurd, and then reinforce it by giving everyone else a chance to wordlessly agree with Arthur, to seem like they, too, are on the cutting edge of secret mage knowledge and therefore already know all about TAIGA.

"Thought it might be good to bring him along, you know. This is a lecture about supernatural cohabitation, after all. These two are a real pair, you know, actual partners in fact. A great example of what it's like when someone successfully gets at semi-synthetic supernatural being in a healthy, positive cohabitation relationship. Psyber, TAIGA, and I can handle questions about that, of course." He makes sure this doesn't leave Nozomi -- the social vulnerable spot -- out in the cold. The social gesture is designed entirely to get them a firmly defended beachhead and generate a lot of interest in Psyber's lecture while making it clear that they can contend on a socialite level.
Guest Psyber     Psyber smiles at Madoka and says, "You're a giant dork, but that's not inaccurate either," His tone is playful and teasing before he adjusts the bag he's wearing on his shoulder and continues walking forward.

The sum total of his response to Arthur is, "Yeah, I'll ring you up. Can I dial 119? Like the reverse fire department or some shit? You show up and instead of putting out fires, you just intensify the burn?"

And finally Kyra, "I look forward to seeing if you make it onto the roster for the fall semester. It starts at the end of August, so don't disappoint me," He notes as he stops outside the door to the lecture hall and takes a deep breath. Nozomi takes the first round of awkward staring at the forefront, with Taiga quick to answer for her.

Psyber doesn't really talk, though. Instead, he walks towards the front of the classroom at a calm and practiced pace. It's immediately obvious why he's successful as a professor. That natural and imposing gait and posture he has as a hunter translates perfectly into a social setting. He seems to almost instantly command attention, moving with a fluidity and predatory posture.

He steps up on stage and sets his bag down. With almost no pause or fanfare, he begins talking. His voice, the baritone that it is, requires no microphone or amplification, simply demanding attention as he begins, "Greetings. I generally have people call me Psyber, for personal reasons. I am here to lecture you today on the cohabitation of the natural and supernatural in both multiversal and non-multiversal contexts."

He stares out over the crowd, tilting his head a bit, "If you wish to know my qualifications, I possess a Bachelors of Science in Applied Occult Sciences with a Minor in Mythical Predation, a Master's Degree in Theoretical Paranormality, and my Doctorate in Supernatural Social Sciences."

He flatly asks, "Before we begin, are there any further questions?"
Kaname Madoka     The walk is a long one, and just long enough to give Madoka some breathing room -- time to calm down. The dizziness from the absolute grandeur of it all wears off after a little while, at least, which does quite a lot to speed things along. In a way, it's hard for Madoka to believe this is even a school; all the schools that she's been to have held some sort of conceptual cocktail of familiarity mixed with haste and a very particular kind of fear. This place doesn't have any of that, and it doesn't... really... look like a school at all. Don't get her wrong! The campus is beautiful, and the uniforms make it pretty apparent that this is a university of some kind, but it's just so... different. Showy. Especially since she hasn't been in school at all for about a year now, this is all quite a bit to take.

Ironically, it's seeing people sending texts back and forth that makes her feel more at home. She takes on a foggy, distant sort of smile for a few moments, thinking of the times Sayaka had sent her a text telling her to 'watch her back' moments before she would sneak up on her during a lunch break. Then that inevitably leads to a bit of wistfulness. This happens a lot for her, though, doesn't it? So for the moment, she tries not to get too caught up in that, focusing instead on some other eye-catching aspects of the atmosphere. Maybe a fountain, or a tower, or even a dorm room along their way? It doesn't really matter as long as it's -really- outstanding, and considering where she is things like that should not be terribly difficult to find.

When she's a bit closer to the lecture room, Kyra replies. Madoka nods very faintly, but she has since found another thing to fixate on that's prevented her from answering: Scarlet. Is it just her being paranoid, or has she been avoiding eye contact with her ever since they got here? ... no, it's probably just her imagination. Still, she's having a really, -really- hard time shaking the feeling that she's annoyed her, or... -something-. She would ask, but she doesn't for much the same reason that she decided to come along in the first place -- that's to say, she doesn't want to distract anyone or hold things up. Besides, at the best of times asking an almost complete stranger what they think of you is pretty - okay, really - self-aggrandizing. So the worry will just have to linger for... for forever. Until she forgets.

Thankfully, she's actually pretty easily distracted sometimes, like when Psyber's lecture starts properly. Before we get to that, though, there's the matter of his reply to her. It's probably a very good thing that he decided to take on the playful, friendly tone that he did, because in pretty much any other context that might've sounded a little ominous. Heck, it sounded ominous here, too, but this puella is way too zoned to notice. Instead, she just laughs a teensy bit more. But /way more/ ominous is what she hears afterwards. Uh, 119? /Reverse/ Fire Department? Um. "P-Psyber, wouldn't... wouldn't '911' be the reverse police number, not the other way around?" Though he may not quite have time to answer that before he steps up to the podium. Oh well.

After the start of the lecture itself, Madoka's brain departs for places unknown. She trains her ears completely and fully on every syllable that comes out of his mouth, but even as they spin around and around in her ears, reverberating, echoing, almost none of them hit the semantic 'targets' in her association areas. That's to say, even though she's giving the half-angel her undivided attention, she is completely zoned. Sorry, but this is just sort of how she gets in classroom settings. There's a reason that her grades aren't as good as Homura's!
Scarlet Everille     A few of the students on either side of the boy in question turn to hide their "he was saying what we were all thinking, but I'm glad I wasn't the one who did it" giggles. He can clearly tell Taiga is being sassy with him, and when Arthur joins on the snark, he looks like he's about to lose it, but once Scarlet looks back at him from the front row with a "I can't believe you actually said that out loud" smirk that he chokes down his indignance and sits. He's willing to challenge a complete stranger, but not her as it seems. Everyone else seems to be content to throw him under the bus as far as their own ignorance is concerned. As for available seats, most of the back row is completely free, but otherwise, students conspicuously place bags and books on any empty seats beside them or their friends, relegating Maya and the others to the rear of the room.

Psyber seems to immediately command the majority of their attention however. These kids are used to self-assured instructors, but of a distinctly more approachable, or at the least less overtly intimidating, persuasion. Part of it might even just be some measure of interest at the fact a total outsider can find the guts take that kind of pace in their school halls. The texting continues, but non-invasive neural interfaces, the ubiquitous human augmentation magic of the upper class, and a simple lifetime of experience of having a computer around at all times means that they seem to be able to do it as a tertiary activity, rather than needing to hunch over and thumb a smartphone under their desk.

With the first one to try it dealt with, nobody else seems to be about to expose any kind of social openings, and already knowing not to talk back to teachers of any kind in this kind of environment, the bulk of the student body keeps silent. It's only the girl at the back, green eyes, brown hair, ordinary ponytail, that bothers to speak up, simplying asking, "Are you a magus yourself? Whatever kind exists where you're from." The question immediately generates such a heavy air of expectation that it feels like it'd spark if someone touched metal. 40 odd students seem to be silently communicating the group thought that Psyber better be, because they're not going to take lectures from an utterly mundane human on how they should cohabitate with anybody. The girl herself seems... the opposite however. As if she's secretly hoping he might not be. Scarlet in front merely rolls her eyes.
Guest Psyber     "I am not," Psyber answers her simply, letting the answer hang in the air for a few moments before continuing, "By my own world's standards, I am classified as a supernatural creature. Specifically, I am a half-angel from the Abrahamic Pantheon of religions. Beyond that, the majority of my experience with the supernatural comes from being what was known as a 'Hunter', a subset of human society aware of supernatural entities and combative against them for the protection of humanity as a whole," Psyber explains in a formal tone, "However, Hunter would be a misnomer for my current occupation."

He looks out over the crowd and continues, "Currently, I run one of the Multiverse's most supernaturally integrated business models, which serves to classify, place, and aid supernatural entities wishing to meaningfully contribute to human society at a mutual level. The city in which I conduct my business primarily is particularly known for cohabitation. We investigate incidents, help with job placement, and provide work for individuals with particularly stand-out talent," He looks over the audience for a few moments, using the girl's question to springboard into his first point.

"The hardest part of this integration was overcoming the natural biases and societal divides that mankind inherently wishes to establish," Psyber says simply, and a bit dryly, "It is human nature to subdivide as a mechanism for coping with the larger world. It took sustained proof of the viability and applicability of supernatural talents to natural life before the system could be put into place long term, due to these inherent biases and fears."

He will, sadly, be too busy to answer Madoka for her error in understanding that it should be the one true American 911.
Nozomi Houken     "To be accurate, I'm completely synthetic," Taiga says, adopting a more natural sitting posture and letting his cannons return to a 'resting' position. "I am the end-product of the Technology-Integrated Gensou Engine Rampart project. You may refer to me as TIGER." He appears to be fixing the boy who spoke up in particular with the classical 'I'm staring right through you because you aren't worth much notice' feline gaze, even though he's responding to Arthur as much as to any of the students. "I am a product of the cutting edge of magitech in the world from which Nozomi and I originate, designed as an anti-supernatural weapon. Nozomi Houken is my designated user. My specifications are, of course, classified."
Maya Maya gets the treatment from them she shows no outward signs hostility. None what so ever she's simply she knows she's in a viper's nest and she has given Scarlet her world to behave. So she does she does however see if that lone girl whose seems to be interested has space near her as she moves to sit down. She does seem interested in Psyber's class and is paying attention she's got some sort of smart phone out and is recoring the lession, this stuff is actually pretty usefil to her.

She's meanwhile going over her own demo and she inwardly smirks wait till the children gets a look at Runner.
Kyra Hyral     Rather than just stand awkwardly up where everyone can see her at the moment, Kyra instead moves to find an empty seat with the rest of the students in the lecture hall where she can listen to Psyber's lecture. If she has to go all the way to the back of the room to do this, then so be it-she'd be fine with that since the girl in the green seems rather curious in that she was /nothing/ like the other teenagers here.

Once she's settled in her seat in the back only then does Kyra start poking around with a Libra spell here and there, assessing the magical and physical strength of each student quickly with her own version of their sight spells. Although her magic does require a vocal component, Kyra's practiced enough with casting that she can get away with quiet whispers for incantations.
Kaname Madoka     Madoka, for her part, follows Kyra into the back row of seats in the lecture hall. She picked up on the same thing: most of the students here exude an aura of exclusion and judgment, but she doesn't get that feeling from that one girl. Once she's seated she does her utmost to shrink and remain unseen, which isn't too difficult considering how short she is. Two or three years hasn't changed much for her, growth-wise!

... and apparently two centuries hasn't changed that much about this world, either. People are still so much the same. Maybe that's too deep a thing for her to be thinking, but now that she's actually settled, this school is starting to feel a lot more like... school. And not in a good way.
Arthur Lowell     Arthr gives a quick wink to Scarlet, a silent thanks for the backup, and falls in line with Psyber, by which I mean he goes and finds somewhere to sit and backs Psyber up entirely via rhetoric. "As you all knew." He says, encouraging the rest to play along with him backing up Taiga's defenses socially a bit. And then Psyber begins! Arthur settles in with wide, intense eyes, aggressively assisting his angeldad too. "Think of him as the equivalent of a top-tier Familiar. Except where he comes from, instead of fancy tricks, you use basic human decency and respect to get him to help you out. I did once, and he punched out an apocalyptic monster the size of a mountain with a planetary killcount to help me out."

This is a two-layered effect. First, he's playing up Psyber's history, sure, and proxy-bragging for him, to make Psyber more easily respected. But that's far from all: He's also intentionally trying to play to the desire for power that's probably saturated anyone willing to pull out all the stops and come here to this school... And the probable envy they'd have towards the idea of being able to call in the help of a high-level familiar. "You follow what he does, you learn to get backup from stuff that's way above your grade." And, left unspoken: 'So that you don't have to contend with the lower classes like me doing the same while you don't.'

Arthur then leans back, letting the lecture continue and shifting the focus onto Psyber with such social confidence that he hopes to make it look like that's just sort of the obvious thing to do, exerting a little extra social pressure.
Scarlet Everille     The texts absolutely fly as the words "half-angel" drop. Anyone can probably guess what they are, especially anyone sitting at the back who can actually read the one-way projected displays. The typical responses of "Is this guy for real?" "Angels actually exist now?" "Is Hunter some kind of word for police?" "Maybe special forces!" "Well he's got no familiars and no wards." "Leave it to rank 5 kids to miss the details. He's clearly not all human." "Well he's a businessman too." "Is that legit?" "I just websearched it. It's for real." "Damn, that's a pretty big building." "Well if he's rich then of course that's a different story."

It takes a while for the shallow, status-obsessed babble to start to die out a little, replaced with conversations more like "He sounds like he's talking about the 1900s." "Well duh. Non-humans are probably the ones who use magic in his world." "But it's the humans he worries about? Shouldn't he be preaching at a Faces in the Workplace venue instead of at us?" "He's talking about the multiverse idiot." It's a little bizarre seeing a lively chat room working at full speed where all the participants appear to be totally focused on school.

More than a few physical looks go towards Taiga, some of which never left him. A side channel pops up. "They can get machines to use magic? How does that even work?" "Maybe they used a person's soul or something?" "And the first thing they did was give it cannons? Give me a break. It's definitely a robot!" "What's with all these people being paramilitary anyways?"

The discussion intensifies as Arthur speaks. He's certainly the least liked person in the room, but the students are certainly listening. "Well now I know he's making that up." "Does it really matter? We already know Nobodies are way stronger than humans. If he's in the same class he's probably strong enough to matter at least." "You think that's why he hunts other things like him?" "Well it'd be pretty boring to be superhuman and just run job placement and teach classes." "Ew, fighting though?" "It probably pays a ton." "Are you stupid? Who cares? Imagine if you could literally just pay someone to be a Familiar for a while. No summoning caps, no contracts, no circle, as many as you can afford." "Yeah that'd be pretty sweet." "Inconvenient though, unless he can turn invisible."

The solitary girl in the back looks to the ones sitting down beside her, but makes no move to reject them, looking them up and down interestedly, but pointedly without her eyes changing colour. She probably notices Kyra casting Libra, nobody else seems to, and she doesn't seem to be about to say anything. Her results turn up with three things. One, all of the students are currently layered with large numbers of ongoing, passive magical effects, totally imperceptible without active scanning. Another is that all of them possess unusual physical stats, moreso with the older students than the younger ones. It's not at the Galiandan adventuring standard by a longshot, but a normal kid of the same age and build picking an afterschool fight would probably be painfully humiliated. It doesnt seem that they're intentionally augmenting their strength with any kind of specific magic, but rather it is a side effect of a more holistic, physical enhancement process. The final note is that every one of them have the equivalent of MP through the roof. In terms of just magical ability, they could probably be compared with the most elite of Alexander's students. Really though, that's just the logical result of picking 80 people out of 750,000.
Maya Maya is taking note of the girl and pulls out a orante looking tarrot card. If the solitary girl is paying attention the thing clearly is some sort of magical item. If she's talented enough it's almost like a framework or a mould if you will empty of magic for the moment. She's flipping it over in her hand as she looks over the shoulders of a few students. She sees what they are chatting about and she almost seems amused. It's not a mean thing she's just clearly enjoying seeing them think but also miss a few points. She then looks over the lone girl with more than a bit of intrest. She quitely speaks up now.

"Hello, you seem to be interested in this class, I have noticed."

Maya has noticed they do quite feel more like hanging about other Septerrans humans when it comes to magic and they are high enough they are not asking questions about her own levels of magic, so she's quite happy about that.
Guest Psyber     "What Mister Lowell describes of my ability is not incorrect," Psyber says in a humble way, adjusting his tie as he elects not to fully elaborate on the context and claim of his power. He instead gives a slight smile and continues with his lecture.

"It is the same when you integrate an alternate world into a new one. The natural emotions come through: Fear, curiosity, wonder, and a desire to create a division for a sense of security. It is much easier to ascribe disagreements to 'Us vs. Them' as opposed to undergoing the deep introspection which is required to truly understand another culture," The half-angel continues calmly.

"To illustrate both the similarities and the differences, I have brought several individuals with me who may be willing to demonstrate their unique aspects so that you can see both where overlap exists between your world and theirs, as well as see the differences that exist between similarities."

"I will cede the floor to these individuals so that they make demonstrate as they desire," Psyber notes before stepping towards (and possibly off) one side of the stage.
Nozomi Houken     With everyone's attention focused on Taiga, Nozomi herself takes the chance to slip around to the side, and make for the back where Madoka, Maya, and Kyra have joined the mystery girl. She takes a seat in the back row herself, near the group of people she knows and the one person who actually seems like she might not be an Evil Teenager, and listens quietly.

Taiga, meanwhile, remains on the stage, sitting almost lazily. However, with all the stares coming his way, he selects a student on no particular criteria, and stares back. Unblinking. Unmoving. Staaaaaaaaaare.
Kyra Hyral     Ah, the back row. Kyra has extensive experience in the back row.

Nodding appreciatively at the results of the Libra spells, Kyra makes a few notes of her own on her mPad about this. She's not entirely surprised with the results, especially given the socioenomic and cultural conditions of the world-in fact, it could make a good thesis for a study in the future. Magical particle sampling throughout the multiverse, maybe?

A small smile is given to the girl in green as the lecture eventually comes to a pause point and Psyber invites the others with him on stage to provide demonstrations. Kyra looks thoughtful at this for a few moments. "Unfortunately..." she confides to her fellow back row migrants, "I don't think Galianda magic differs enough in results from magic here to make much of a show. I doubt they'd appreciate me exploding something with a mixture either."
Arthur Lowell     PESTERCHUM is notorious for its universal compatibility. Trollian, Bettybother, whatever the IM service is, Pesterchum can link to it. And so Arthur does. He gives a quick wink to Psyber now, a silent assurance of 'I'm not bored, I'm about to back you up'.

First he queries Scarlet wirelessly, his CHAT-SHADES suddenly flickering over his face as if from nowhere. He alchemized some fancy silvered ones just for tonight, in fact. Hands-free, he chats, to his ally here, quietly requesting access to the local memo. And then, of course, he busts in like the goddamn kool-aid man.

profoundBadness [PB] joined the chat.

PB: HEY GUYS, what's going on in THIS THREAD
PB uploaded a file: Psyber_Punch.wmv
PB: *ollies in aggressively*

His obnoxious typing aside, the footage is a first-person recorded image of Psyber bare-handed punching a giant black humanoid tentacle-faced beast wielding a handgun and a massive staff up and through a mountain so hard that there is no longer any mountain.

PB: I'm a KNOW-NOTHING PUNK but YO
PB: When I SAY something I ain't LYING, dog.
PB: The shit you hear me YAMMERING about is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT the REALEST.
PB: Don't you SHITPOST about my STORIES bro.

And then at Psyber's prompting, he does a surprisingly much more subtle display of his magical prowess. Summoning a GATE under him with a spirographic circle that will probably look like some kind of dynamically-summoned spellcircle to the others, he and his chair fall in a carefully calculated way onto the stage. His sunglasses fall after him, and land right on his face, as if saying "deal with it" to the rest of the class. "Arthur Lowell," He says, keeping to his more polite tones. "Mage of Space, though I'm a little less focused on Familiars than the Magi of your world. My business is binding, manipulating, and commanding space itself instead. A certain sort of overlap. But I'm essentially the same as you, with different formative circumstances. I use my intelligence, my knowledge, and my ability to channel relevant forces into the world around me to enact certain methods of affecting things, in a style classically ascribed to mages, magi, wizards, and similar." He gives a wide, pleasant grin. "And Psyber helps me get jobs."
Scarlet Everille     The girl looks over to Maya, smiling in such a fashion that seems guarded, but only half-heartedly. "It beats dealing with the usual. Besides, it's important to hear unless I want to stick around here and play the stock markets for the rest of my life. Or become a lobbyist." Her voice is remarkably cool, and more than a little jaded, but not in any standoffish or rebellious way. It's the sound of someone who doesn't like something, but has gotten very good at benefitting from it anyways. "You should do it anyways." she says to Kyra. "It's not going to kill anyone". She picks up a stylus, twirling it between her fingers before touching it to her screen, starting to sketch something that appears to be Taiga, currently making a game of getting students to break eye contact first.

Judging by the tone of the chatroom, the student body doesn't seem to be buying it from Psyber. The younger students, no older than 15, appear to be more predisposed to be listening, but their seniors come down on them pretty hard. There's a general tone of respect for him personally, which culminates in nobody actually believing he could be totally sincere about things like mutual understanding and harmonious cohabitation. That tone immediately shifts as Arthur crashes the chat room.

"What? Who the hell let this kid in?" "I swear to God if it was you Abernathy..." "That's gotta be photoshopped!" "I can tell by the pixels." "As if you know anything about image editing." "It looks like something out of one of those trashy Japanese comics." "Well I think it's cool." "New wallpaper for sure." "I'm still calling fake."

ScarletSanctuary: That's cute~ You're cute~ If you think I'm a liar then stand up and say it. Surely the headmaster agrees. Go on, it's a golden opportunity to show me up! Or did you forget these people are here because I brought them?

The chat immediately goes dead quiet for a few seconds. There's enough weight in that statement to get a lot of people furiously composing carefully worded and deliberately barbed replies. Nobody gets the first post out before Arthur plops himself on stage through the application of gate magic. In fact, the next thing to be posted is simply: ScarletSanctuary: ;)
Guest Psyber     Even if he had access to the chat rooms, Psyber doesn't really have a need or desire to prove his power. If, at some point, the students see him in a fight they will believe him then. Otherwise, he's secure enough in his own capability to see little need to personally demonstrate for the moment.

He does give a gentle smile when Arthur appears on stage. Seeing him get to cut loose while still keeping himself in character as a deity is nice, and seeing Arthur back at his normal levels of loudness is reassuring after all they'd both gone through over the past few months. Psyber resists the urge to reach into his jacket and grab a flask, instead keeping his hands in his suit-jacket pockets.

"If many of you choose to interact with the Multiverse, you will likely cross paths with Mister Lowell. He is the current acting head of a freelance corporation much like my own in some ways, but vastly different in others, called the Syndicate."
Maya Maya nods to the young lady "I can't fault you there's so much to learn and experience out there in the multiverse beyond one's own world? It's hard to stay at home. There's also a good deal to learn out there too just by travelling. It seems I'm up now, if you might excuse me."

Maya gets her cue she looks to the young lady who seems interested in entire class. So here she goes she going to get up, pocket the card and head for stage as it's about time for her own show and tell. She'd worked out before hand to have Runner made ready and she's had the mecha mutt on site, weapons removed to be on the safe side. Still even disarmed it should be quite the bit of a show. As Arthur does his little bit, she waits until he's done.

"Greetings students I am known as Selena Campbell. I use a form of magic known as fate magic normally focusing it through foci known as fate cards. I'm a Junker formerly someone who salvages magitech and other items that had been thrown away. My area of skill covers summoning, healing, directed elemental magic use, warding, curses and forms of magic to argument others. However the form I value most is the school of magic that focus on healing."

She holds up several of the Tarot like cards for the class to see. She then takes a moment to focus a spell blue fire visibly bleeds out of her body into the card, it starts to glow and there's no hiding she's loaded with magic from the looks of things. It takes a moment before a ward of some sort appears on stage surrounding her.

"This is a simple warding spell that will hamper any form of kinetic based strike against whatever or whomever it is protecting. Now on to the aforementioned magitech we have been able to both make use power and animate machine using an invention called a core engine the devices in question can passively be powered by feeding on the ambient magical energy in a region. Say hello to Runner, companion and homestead protection magitech robot."

With that the hulking form of runner comes on stage with two legs and then drops gently down to four and stays quite as it's optic scanner pans over the crowd looking at all of them. (OOC runner http://www.legendra.com/media/artworks/pc/septerra_core__legacy_of_the_creator/septerra_core__legacy_of_the_creator_art_8.jpg )

"Unfortunately the more visually impressive applications of fate magic would be unwise to use in a classroom like this. Runner himself is able to operate on his own so long as he's able to have some form of magic he can draw upon and before any of you ask. No he's not run by anyone's soul or anything like that. He's more akin to a non magical robot in how he operates."

Runner lets out a bit of a bark and is being on his best behaviour in /years/ from those who might know of the machine's holy war against all things cat.

"Runner however is a minor example of what can be constructed using such understanding of magic and science on our world. Some nations build entire airships on such understanding which are all the way to the size of Aircraft carriers. Others has turned it upon the biological, growing everything from clothing, weapons, buildings and down to having living craft such as ships, tanks, hover cars and the like."

Runner paws off the stage at this point and what follows next is making ready with several cards this time.

"Basic fate spells can be combined for summoning and wider effects at large. Such as this."
Maya Maya had made sure to talk to the staff ahead of time about doing a summoning of one of the beings Maya can contact, however she had laid out carefully that it was one focused about healing and could do no direct harm to anyone here. What happens next is the blue flames bleed from Maya and pick up the pace almost seeming like she's caught in the wind. Her hair is dancing about as she summons. A shimming portal seems to open briefly and an winged woman with elf like ears and body tattoos appears. Nothing's indecent but she's clearly spearing her wings now causing feathers to fall about the room. It might seem like nothing but those here who might have some sort of injuries or the like would find cuts and like healing and other problems at least for the moment noticeably improving. After a moment the angel looking woman fades back into the portal and the magic dies down once more.

"That was Kyra the angel of light who has domain over healing.I hope this has been somewhat of an enlightening thing for you all and there is more information if you happen to be curious."

Arthur Lowell     Arthur knows the sort of timing Scarlet is going to use. He does a little fingergun at the crowd and his thumb comes down like the hammer of a gun right when she posts. He is a bit awed by her social push and timing, but he keeps it to himself. "That's right." He says, agreeing with Psyber. "In fact, by employing the methods Psyber is teaching, I gained the power necessary to make the Syndicate Network a competitive and relevant entity in the modern multiversal political landscape, while provoking no opposition whatsoever from either major superfaction."

He whips his sunglasses off and whirls them around one finger, always perilously close to flying away and never quite doing it, while Maya demonstrates. When she's done, he leans back on his chair, propping it up on the back two legs, and gesturing with his sunglasses suddenly folded in one hand. "So, long story short. You want to be competitive in the multiverse? You have no time to sit around figuring out how to control everything. Because anyone who focuses on cohabitation will be able to bring a level of supernatural power that's tough to match to the playing field. Now, they might not have your precision control, or your absolute command, but the fact is, if you want a lot of supernatural entities backing you and you want it fast, you need to know what Psyber has to tell you. That's just a fact."

More focus, this time, on the idea of 'competing' with lower classes. Arthur knows how these people are. They're here because they want to be the best, and so he's going to focus on making sure he focuses on making it clear that this sort of cohabitation method is a type of power wielded by people in the multiverse; they're here to get any kind of power they can.

"Some decency, some respect, some money, and this is what you get backing you while you need it. That's all there is to it." Another snap, and he disappears from the stage, falling into another gate and depositing himself right back where he was, grinning with obnoxious smugness. The class is likely to hate him, but if his social shenanigans have gone to plan, they'll be clamoring to get Psyber back for a dozen more lectures.
Kyra Hyral     "Yeah but..." Kyra trails off, looking at the girl, her thoughts returning to her previous words of reassurance to Madoka earlier. People just want to be able to impress, right? Kyra was no different and here the Galianda magic was not that impressive. Though maybe if she went at it with that angle, she could be a sort of disarming force against the native students?

After Maya's presentation has concluded, Kyra stands and makes her way down to the stage to join the other Heaven or Hell/guest members. She makes little shooing motions with her hands so Psyber and Arthur give her a little bit of space. "Hey everyone, my name is Kyra Hyral. I also go as deadm0g on Twitter and Youtube. That's a zero for an O there. I come from a world called Galianda which has pervasive magic to the point where the magic particle forms our basic unit of force in physics. Because of that, the amount to which magic is integrated in our lives is equivalent that of yours. Indeed, should you venture out into the multiverse you will no doubt come across other worlds with similar magic systems and similar spells. But! It's the subtle differences that will provide the most insight not only into another world's magic system but your own."

She spreads her hands, "I'm a white mage. My magic is geared towards healing and support but there are a number of utility spells that fall under its purview. For example-"

Kyra gets ready to cast. To those who have looked at her with magical sight here before and encountered the human-shaped sun construct that she appears as would notice what looks like the equivalent of a solar flare being produced from the girl. In the real world, Kyra suddenly looks mortified. She WAS trying to cast float but instead, in front of all these high-class magi, her magic does not behave as intended. At first it seems like nothing happens as Kyra stands there.
Kyra Hyral     Suddenly, the loud sounds of chittering, chirping, and tapping start outside the lecture hall's door. Kyra turns to look towards the noise, her face burning red with embarassment as she seems to inherantly know what just happened. "Arthur." she says her voice tight, "Would you please open the door?"

As soon as it is open, small forest animals-primarily squirrels and nightingales-swarm through the door. The birds fly throughout the lecture hall, chirping and warbling. The squirrels scamper around the feet of those on stage, clustering around Kyra, sitting on her boots. A falcon is the last to fly in, which circles once, then moves to land on Kyra's shoulder. Despite the obvious predator-prey relationship between the raptor and the other birds, the nightingales come to perch on Kyra like she's some kind of Disney princess, finding whatever room they can on her or nearby her.

Nervous, Kyra tries to improvise at this point. "Speaking of differences, our world lacks the dedicated, powerful familiars of your world and truly possesses nothing that even comes close to a Nobody. As such, we look to find helpers or assistants from other sources, to include nature itself. Although these animals seem benign, they are of great benefit to, say, a Ranger who can coach them into attacking or healing." At the last word, she nods to a nightingale perched on one of her fingers. "A Beastmaster takes this idea even farther, taming the more dangerous animals we have, such as yeti or wyverns."

Kyra clears her throat and forces another smile. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to escort my forest friends back outside. Thank you for this demonstration opportunity." Stiffly, she marches out of the lecture hall, the small animals following in her wake or riding along on the white mage herself.

A few minutes later, the small group of Heaven or Hell members here will get a mass text from Kyra telling everyone that she's hiding in the bathroom until they need to leave.
Arthur Lowell     Arthur gives a quick wink to Kyra, snapping his fingers and pointing at the door. 'Open the door' is a pretty simple bit of magic, so he doesn't mind doing that. "Alright you lot, get on out." He's happy to oblige Kyra and has the grin on his face that makes it look like this ought to have happened, and is in no way a mistake of any form.
Scarlet Everille     The magic going on in the classroom is certainly far removed from what it normally sees. Not only is it actually visible to the naked eye, generating effects that represent composite uses of several of the fundamental schools, and being done essentially instantaneously, it is being done completely without the aid of a circle as a focus of any kind, unless someone wants to count Arthur's spontaneously created spirograph as close enough. A lot of the students are pretty young, but it's clear that none of them are inexperienced. They can tell that nobody here is a novice, chump or hack of any kind.

There is more than a little suspicion at Kyra, but the general tone seems to be more confused and impressed by the results of the spell than lingering on whether or not it had been intentional. There is actually some level of verbal communication going on in the form of waves of mumbling and whispers, barely audible as how anyone is bringing anything inside of a building specifically warded against it, with some disbelief expressed at the idea that they might just be creating it somehow. In any case, it's also obvious that nobody there would totally write off the idea of using more convenient magic, even if it is extremely unsubtle by comparison.

It's also apparent that these kids might not be quite as stereotypically bratty as Arthur might think. Sure they've obviously been raised in a xenophobic and elitist environment, far removed from the average person's concerns, but they're intimately familiar with the concept of networking with peers and the value of proper connections. The chat feed is much more serious than before, giving credible, if cautious thought towards analyzing what they'd just been shown. Admittedly, Scarlet has a better public face than any of them, but none of them got this far by wearing their thoughts on their sleeve.

Speaking of Scarlet, looking oh-so-satisfied in the front and center, the vaguely disconcerting signals the crowd had given off from before are a little clearer now. The students who appear to have been impressed aren't sparing second looks towards the Elites who had actually wowed them. Subtly, their attention of most of her peers seems to be fixated on her alone, not quite hiding little expressions of something that could conceivably be called adoration. It seems as if the demonstration has reaffirmed some previously shaken, but dearly held faith in her held by the general student body, now all too eager to flood her with private messages. It's actually a little eerie how quick they are to flock to her after they'd given her such uncertain looks at the start, but having fairweather fans is probably part and parcel of being around so many status-conscious people. Probably. It kind of seems like the older boys are especially into it though.

The headmaster in the corner, having all but faded into the background the entire time, clears his throat loudly, and immediately the cavernous room is filled with the echoes of general applause, a little too loud to be just an obligation to show respect. A few of the students appear to be uploading footage to social media accounts while waiting for Psyber to return to the floor.
Nozomi Houken     For the time being, Nozomi is content to remain a wallflower in the back, still sitting near the student that's seemed far more amenable to them from the start than any of these others. She's quite pleased, however, to see the demonstrations put on by her allies; Arthur, Maya, and especially Kyra with her menagerie. But for the moment she remains silent and observes.

Her companion, on the other hand, finally sees fit to speak. "If there is one lesson I would like to impart from this demonstration, it is that you can't apply your preconceptions to the Multiverse. The hard-and-fast rules of one world's magic may be casually violated by the mages of another. A spell that is commonplace in one system may be a closely-guarded secret in another that only the most skilled of wizards may master. Entire worlds exist with no magic at all, and others where it is so commonplace it comprises the fundamental building blocks of existence itself. A mage of any world who attempts to explain magic of other worlds in his own terms, is doomed to failure."

The black mechafeline rises and streeetches out, before lying back down. "But then, I am merely a robotic tiger powered by a magical core. You certainly don't have to listen to me if you don't want to."
Guest Psyber     Psyber's mostly been hanging out in the wings, keeping an eye on events as they played out and making no real spectacle himself. Mostly because there isn't a feasible way to demonstrate his particular ability (in regards to what Arthur claimed) that would be appropriate for a lesson setting. So he lets the others take the stage, show off, and take the anchor positions with their abilities.

He manages to keep his expression fairly neutral by the side stairs, watching onward with a very calm expression on his face through both Arthur and Maya. Kyra's demonstration gets a bit of a quirked eyebrow as he looks at her, perhaps suspecting her spell took a wrong turn at Albuquerque before it arrived here. But he doesn't say anything out loud, mostly because it's a theatric effect she wound up with and it seems to have wowed the students anyway.

As Taiga decides to speak up and make the closing statements for the presentation, Psyber is calmly walking his way back towards the center of the presentation platform. It's a simple and professional posture he has, eventually simply asking, "I believe this is a sufficient concluding point for the presentation. Are there any questions for myself or others currently present?"
Maya Maya is curious abouttheir reaciotn but she's quite happy things went well with the whole demo. She also does not laugh at Kyra, that sort of summoning still was impressive by her world's standards. Other world did have a lot more lot more nad it was the first time she'd got to see Arthurs magic not in the middle of a combat situation. It was curious to see that and it did act like a suposedly lost type of fate card behaved like. Maya is watching the students but she's had to deal with high society on her world before. The kids here seem to be quite a bit smarter in terms of social behaviour than the Chosen are, thinks.

She seems happy to ahve done htis however and Payber's handking the wrapping up along with Nozomi's mecha kitty which Runner oddly did not show one bit of agression to. She's pretty content now as things seem to have gone fairly well at this point, right?
Arthur Lowell     "You ought to know how this works by now." Arthur says, grinning at the chat feed just a bit more authentically and gesturing broadly. "In the multiverse, making friends can be as valuable as commanding Nobodies. If you want to compete, live with the beings of power, treat them well. Psyber knows how this works, and he's built the largest business in the multiverse dedicated to it, and one of the more profitable types." Always focused on what you can gain from this. The fact that Psyber's methods are the more humane and the more moral is likely irrelevant to most.

"Cohabitation means having supernatural creatures live with you, and not just for you. Working with them, treating them as equals. And as soon as you do that, you get all the benefits a fellow Magus would give you for doing that. All the same risks to be cautious of, sure, but, you're more than trained to deal with that." And then, with a plaintive gesture, he seems to indicate that he's done, and ready for any questions as well. There's a look to Scarlet, noting the shift in the atmosphere. He tilts his head, a silent prompting: 'You get what you needed out of this, then?' He's not bothering to query her via message (she's got enough of that to deal with) or wordlessly ask what all social purposes this may be meant to fulfill.
Scarlet Everille     The fact that the collective effort from the Elites gathered has actually worked to any degree at all is an unintended side effect of Scarlet's plan. Of course, it had to actually be credible to get past the school staff to begin with, but this level of success is a little unexpected, as evidenced by the fact that even the boy from before is willing to listen to a sarcastic robot cat. A handful of hands go up, raised by the more adventurous, risk-taking students. "Do you have any more spots open?" "Can you recommend any other agencies?" "Does the Syndicate do advance placement?" "What worlds should I start looking up?" "Can we come see Scarlet at work sometime?"

Strangely, the lattermost question seems to get the most general interest. The magus is pretending not to notice, probably having sat at the front so that all eyes could be on her without her having to acknowledge that she knows. Or perhaps she simply needs to be widely visible for... something. She has her chin on the back of her hand while she waits for the Q&A session to end, though she flashes an impenetrable smile and wiggles her fingers at Arthur's glance towards her. Elde remains in the implacable, nebulous zone of somewhat pleased, looking at an actual, physical watch as if he were unaware of the time. "15 minutes until period 4 starts. Ask short questions."
Guest Psyber     "My hiring practices are based on qualifications, capabilities, and references. You are welcome to submit applications," Psyber says to answering the first question, "As to other agencies, I know of very few that do what I do." He leaves the questions about the Syndicate for Arthur to answer after that. He's the best qualified among the group to talk about Syndicate placement.

"Good worlds to look into include the new instance of Hydaelyn that just Unified, as well as Galianda. Though as a travel advisory, the latter has a war going on and the former has similar. Please be careful if you travel to those venues," He notes as he keeps his gaze on the crowd.

"Yes, you can come visit her at work," He responds to the final question, "Though that will require she arrange in advance with me, so I can mitigate any sensitive information you might see while on site."
Arthur Lowell     Arthur knows what to do here "The Syndicate Network offers a wide range of services suitable to you and individuals like you. A comprehensive network of information-gathering agents are always at work. Salary, contract, and bounty work for information gathering are also all available. The Syndicate Network can consistently ensure that the most capable of you are immediately placed in long-term or temporary connection with individuals who you can assist and who can be assisted by you. The Network itself merely exists to ensure you're aware of each other; what happens next is entirely logical."

He's really working the arrogant offworld thing. He does reinforce some of Psyber's statements. "Hydaelyn's guilds are a regular client. They'll give you immediate exposure to many faces of new magic. And I believe Miss Everille does some semi-regular work in those territories. I've seen her around there myself." The little smirk he gives her may be from recollection of that. And some confirmation that, while he obviously may not be entirely cognizant of what her scheme was with today, he's OK with it happening. In fact, he catches a bit of the hint; she wants attention on her, and interest in her, so he'll work that a little.

"In fact, Miss Everille's already putting a lot of the principles we've discussed here to work. You can see how she's connected with Psyber now, and this has been expanding a fair bit to other semi-divine beings, if what I've heard on the Network is right." He leaves that ambiguous, but he did hear a bit about the business with the Scion, among other things. "If you want to know the magus-oriented perspective, I'd recommend getting advice from her." He has no idea what Scarlet has set this up for, but for now, he seems content to go with the flow and help out... Whatever the scheme is. It's likely obvious to her that he's cognizant of the dual nature of the effort here, and still participating with an assisting intent.
