Evangeline      Above the vast Great Ocean where the Strike Earth unified, the littlest Neuroi flies. Unlike the other Strike Witches, she carries no visible weapons, but anyone who knows her recognizes her red panels on her hexagonal little wings as her weapons.

It has been a quiet day on the sea so far. The skies have been clear, and the seas peaceful. So, Evangeline felt it was safe to allow her friend Zephyr to join her. And, after getting approval from her commander back at Mont-Saint Michael's, she relayed her position to Zephyr.
Zephyr Windstar     The peaceful sound of the sky is shattered by the distant reverb of a sonic boom. The clear skyline marred by a single streak of dark purple against the clear blue. It angles down, and with another grumble of thunder, the object slows down, revealing the form of Zephyr within the streaking mach cone.

The Mage overshoots, banks around and pulls up to rise from under Evangeline's position, smirking with her arms crossed. "Misjudged the distance a bit there, good thing we're so high up!" she chuckles nonchalantly. She then floats closer, and gives the littlest Neuroi a hug. "Been too long since we flew together."
Evangeline      Evangeline hears the reverb and her first instinct is to come to a stop, ready to defend herself. When she sees the purple streak though, she relaxes. And as Zephyr goes flying by, she tilts her head to the side.

When Zephyr returns, she hugs firmly "...yes...too long..." she says, then starts flying through the sky again. "...you seem to be well...I am glad...you are so often injured..."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr snorts softly, turning to fall into abreast formation with the Neuroi. "I get knocked down, but I get up again." she grins a bit. "They ain't never gonna keep me down." is she quoting SONG LYRICS?!

"Anyway, not my fault my magic is suited to offense instead of defense." she defends petulantly, rolling onto her back and cruising in a relaxed manner.
Evangeline      Evangeline just tilts her head again. She obviously misses the quote. "...you do always get back up..." she agrees. As Zephyr rolls over, Evangeline moves to fly above her. "...you cannot learn defensive magic...?" she asks as they continue flying. She starts to slowly spiral around Zephyr. "...my powers also focus on offense...I am only able to have a strong defense because of what happened..."
Zephyr Windstar     "I /can/ but my magic is inefficient with Shield, Field and Barrier-type spells. It's a fundamental failing of the system I use... I guess I could try swapping to Mid-Childan, but what's the point? I'd be back at square one, learning everything all over again from scratch." replies Zephyr, spiralling with Evangeline to make a helix contrail.

At the mention of that incident, Zephyr's eyes grow dark and she looks away. "I should have been more insistant... I should have pushed harder to get you back." she says softly, huffing a soft sigh.
Evangeline      Evangeline notices the look, then floats closer and pauses a moment...then wraps her arms around Zephyr and hugs again. "...you tried very hard...had you tried any harder...I would not have been able to forgive myself..." She then takes Zephyr's hand in hers, her slender fingers kind of cool to the touch. She starts twirling slowly through the air with Zephyr to continue the helix contrail.
Zephyr Windstar     A sigh, as she locks fingers with Evangeline, and Zephyr twirls through the air. "You're back with us, that's the important thing." she replies, banishing the fallen expression to replace it with a smile, even if forced.
Evangeline      Evangeline nods lightly as they continue flying, twirling gently through the air. "...and...you are in good health...that is also an important thing..." she says. Evangeline banks them toward Mont-Saint Michael's again. They are a good distance out, so the return trip could take a while. "...how are...Stanza and Darma...?" she asks, giving Zephyr's hand an affectionate squeeze.
Zephyr Windstar     Squeezes back and smirks. "Yeah, fit and healthy!" she replies, banging her chest, before wincing slightly. "Heh." To the second question, she shrugs. "They're doin' alright. Darma's still actin' like a big ole mama bear whenever I get hurt. Dad's workin' for the TSAB Engineering division, working on Devices."
