Guest Vivio     It takes Vivio a while to get to Njorun, since she was just finishing training when Ainsley asked for some help with something. So after going home, changing, grabbing a ride to the nearest warpgate and arriving in Njorun, Vivio finally makes her way into the Ring of Philosophy.

Vivio is wearing a cute red jacket over a white dress, humming as song to herself as she walks along happily. Chris floats along in the air beside Vivio, who begins looking around for any signs of Ainsley, someone who she'd only met over the radio until now.
Ainsley     The lizard lady finds her way to meet Vivio, Ainsley's faintly Spanish accent echoing through the Ring's halls while she sings to herself. She dances along through the hall as she moves, her eyes lidded, her tail swaying and her step bouncing side to side to avoid any pedestrians that walk through during this hour. When she comes to a halt, she is standing before Vivio in their agreed upon simulation room with her hands clasped behind her back, slate grey eyes focused on the magic girl with patient warmth.
"First thing is first," she begins, "I want to watch a demonstration of your magic so I may learn an effective way to counter or disrupt spoken or written magic. To do this, I will observe your spells at an arcane level to scan them for components that I may be compatible for disrupting." She points up at her eyes purposefully. "I will not do this if you are not comfortable with me analyzing your magic in this manner, and if there are rules about others studying the magic from your world, it would be wise to inform me of them before we start."

She flashes a brighter smile, "All that dreariness aside, hi, I'm Ainsley." She holds her hand out at Vivio.
Guest Vivio     Vivio is still looking when her Device tugs on her jacket shoulder. Vivio turns to Chris and then looks in the direction he's pointing. Her eyes go a little wide at the sight of Ainsley singing and dancing down the hall. So exotic! Vivio has seen some weird stuff in the Multiverse, but Ainsley is certainly near the top!

Vivio watches with a smile as Ainsley finally comes to a stop near Vivio. Vivio opens her mouth to introduce herself, only for Ainsley to begin talking. It's about half way through the explanation that Vivio begins to look a little confused.

Finally it's time for introductions. Vivio takes Ainsley's hand and shakes it energetically with a grin on her face, "Vivio Takamachi! Nice to meet you in person." She then considers what Ainsley said, "Welllll... I don't like to give away the secrets of my magic... But I do want to help! And there's no rules that I know of for people just watching our magic. So sure, we can try it!"
Ainsley     It's the apparent animate toy rabbit that catches Ainsley's attention for a couple seconds, drawing some fascination out of her while she waits for the handshake. The gesture being reciprocated prompts a firm and more adult handshake, though she doesn't force against the cheerful energy, letting it happen with a mature patience and a light smile.

When her hand draws back to her side, she shrugs her shoulders, the cloth of her suit coat rustling. "I will never turn this against you except in training exercises that we both agree to, and I would use the lessons learned from it to strength my ability to help our allies," she assures Vivio, "This is not about learning the secrets of your magic, it's about having a visual example of written and spoken magic to work with. I have my doubts about being able to learn the full or even half the scope of any of your spells, our forms of magic are unlikely to possess that kind of compatibility."

She helps lead Vivio into the simulation room with a little gesture of her hand to prepare something for her. "I will create some basic, simulated combatants for you to fight, and I will observe your magic while you do that. Is that okay? We can chat while you do this, too, if you like."
Guest Vivio     As Chris notices he's been briefly stared out, he gives Ainsley a brief wave of his stuffed arm, which somehow translates into 'Hello.'

Vivio seems convinced that Ainsley won't be able to really exploit anything about Vivio's magic specifically. After all, she may and up fighting Ainsley some time in the future! Competitively of course.

Vivio begins to follow Ainsley in the room, listening as she does. She nods along slowly, before asking, "Is there any types of spells that you want me to focus on? I've got a few different ones~"
Ainsley     "Nothing that will be strenuous, but try to avoid anything with subtlety, it will muddy my ability to learn this. Basic spells for basic combatants," Ainsley replies in a gentle, informative tone. The bunny rabbit is given more scrutiny, his ability to convey information without making audible speech getting noticed quickly. She generates a few basic 'rogue mages,' who stand in a loose group in the big blank room. She closes the door behind them and stands aside. Her eyes shimmer, and then manifest her Arcane Sight.

"Go ahead," she says, softly, focusing her Sight on Vivio, looking for demonstrations of the 'Name fragments' of her spells that might clue the lizard woman on how to deal with her type of magic in the field if she ran into it.
Guest Vivio     Vivio takes up a spot in the centre of the room and calmly considers... Nothing subtle? Well then, probably none of her faster spells. Still, she has a number of larger spells she can use to give Ainsley what she needs.

Vivio takes a deep breath as she prepares. She doesn't transform into her Adult Form for this as it's not really needed. Besides, she shouldn't rely too much on it anyway! Chris flies through the air over towards Ainsley, turning around and coming to a hover near the lizardwomen and watches.

Vivio swings her hand out to the side, a triangular spell circle made of iridescent light appearing on the ground beneath her. She begins, "Sonic Shooter..." The spell circle is joined by several orbs that appear in the air around Vivio, crackling with magic. She then brings her hand around to point in the direction of the mages, "Fire!"

The orbs of light blast forward as beams, streaking towards the mages and exploding on contact with them or the room's surface.

After the smoke clears, Vivio turns to Ainsley and asks with a smile, "How was that?"
Ainsley     Ainsley's smile fades for a look of deep concentration, as the initial threads of what she's looking for appear before her. The circle, communicating mana and helping to shape it. The phrase, activating the mana. The lizard woman knits her brow, and then looks at Vivio with those intense, studious eyes, but shows another smile to the girl. More 'rogue mage' training holograms pop up, some of them waving staves around menacingly.

"Good! Keep going, if you want to," she urges, waving with one of her hands to the training dummies. "You mentioned training. Do you have duties, does that connect with why you're a Union Elite?" Small talk, to get to know the girl too. She doesn't want to be ungrateful for the help, might as well get to know the young mage.
Guest Vivio     Vivio watches as more holograms appear. They remind her of some of the more advanced training sites on her world! Vivio hmmms quietly to herself as she considers, then says, "Alright, maybe this!"

Vivio holds her hand up towards the mages, palm open. Although it has no verbal component, as circular spell circle appears in the air just beyond Vivio's hand. Recognising the magic type, the training room actually brings the training mages to life, their staves beginning to shoot relatively harmless blasts of magic at Vivio.

As her Round Shield repels the attacks fired at it, Vivio turns to look at Ainsley and smiles, "Not really! I go to school five days a week and I try to help out the Union on the weekends when I can. That's about it! I train because I want to get stronger and because fighting people is fun~" Her vivid eyes shine with excitement as she says, "I'm looking forward to the big Multiverse tournament that happens each year!"
Ainsley     The shield is observed. The spell circle is observed, another form of information that can be read, conveying ... something. Ainsley can't quite read it, either, though she knows that the circle is meant to do something and that is enough to make connections to how her own magic might be used to disrupt similar spells. She observes the circle while the spell endures the simulation's meager attacks, checking for fluctuations, trying to determine whether that information changes to adapt to the conditions being thrown at it, or...
Ainsley looks up, away from the circle. She smiles mildly, and tells Vivio, "That is where we differ, then. Fighting for the joy of it, or the spectacle, was never something I could completely empathize with. It would be senseless, however, to look down on you or others like you for your enjoyment of battle, as there are cases where it is harmless. My experiences have taught me that a fight must have a purpose beyond personal enjoyment, so... I joined one of the tournaments to try to amass some prize money." A beat. "If I perfect this theory, I will use it for training exercises for you to improve, for instance, full combat simulations here in the Ring."
Guest Vivio     Vivio lowers her hand a little absently as she listens to Ainsley. Her shield fades and the mages stop firing. Vivio nods a little in understanding, "I know that people each have their reasons for fighting. And they won't always be reasons I agree with. But I've found that, by fighting, you can get across feelings that would be missed just by talking."

Vivio turns back to the mages with a more solemn look. She slowly shifts her stance, sliding a foot back, "Through my fists and my magic, I want to share my feelings with people." Another circular spell circle appears on the ground beneath her as she continues, "So they can understand who I am." An orb of magic appears in her left hand and she swings it around in front of her, a second spell circle appearing around it, "And so I can understand who they are." She brings her fight arm back, hand forming a fist, starting, "Divine..."

Vivio pauses for a moment, turning to look at Ainsley and smiling, "And once we understand each other, we can be friends!"

Vivio looks back at the mages and swings, her fist striking the orb as she cries out, "BUSTER!" Iridescent light bursts out from the orb in a wide blasts that engulfs the half of the room the mages are in.

The light quickly fades and Vivio phews, giggling quietly and turning to Ainsley with a grin, "Don't use that much outside my Adult Form!"
Ainsley     Ainsley listens with that same patient smile as before. She pays a great deal of attention to the magic... the spell circles draw her gaze. The ability to interrupt an incantation with other speech is noted, the lizard girl puffing up her feathers, impressed with the level of control such a young mage seems to have. She wiggles her tail with a curious energy when the spell is fired, and tries to see this emotion in the spell itself, the message the girl wants to send. It's a blur, but there's something to it, drawing her away from the notion that only the initial spell components are important. Then she nods once idly as Vivio mentions the Adult Form.

"I will always choose words over physical combat," she tells Vivio, her voice gaining a sad tone to it, "I have met those whose souls are ruled by violence, and I have caused too much suffering to see it as an option I can stomach anymore. You... I can see that this is unlikely to be the case with you, and I will hold out hope that your path will not stray down the dark avenues that mine did."

She does look hopeful and sad at the same time. That smile is very warm, despite the tired look her eyes manifested after the Arcane Sight deactivated. "I'll cross-reference what I've seen with other magery techniques," she tells Vivio, and then she pulls a waxpaper-wrapped pastry from a pocket, and holds it out at Vivio. "Thank you for helping me, Vivio. This was important to me."
Guest Vivio     Vivio takes a moment to recover after her last attack, listening to Ainsley carefully. For a brief moment there is a flicker of emotion on her face at the mention of dark avenues... Is it worry? It's quickly gone though and Vivio raises her hand in declaration, "It wont!" She grins, "After all, I have my mamas and my friends and everyone in the Union to tell me if I'm going down the wrong path!"

Chris quickly flies over to float in front of Vivio, waving his arms emphatically. Vivio giggles and nods, "Chris too!" She reaches out to grab the Device and hugs it in her arms.

Realising that Ainsley has seen enough for now, and that she is pulling something potentially yummy from her pocket, Vivio bounces over to her and stops. She politely accepts the pastry and smiles, "Thank you! I'm glad I could help and would be grateful for any training you can help me with in the future!"
