Elise Leroy	XCOM HQ, LOCAL TIME 01:00AM 18/05/AU23. <Doctor Vahlen, Doctor White, Technician Yamakawa. Please report to the Research Labs. Doctor Vahlen, Doctor White, and Technician Yamakawa, please report to the Research Labs.> The clarion call of X-AI rings through the Base over the tannoy system, while the research and technical team rush to set up their prototypes in the test chamber. There's a large, bulky thing with a backpack array, a huge gattling-style cannon, and cables feeding between the two. Beside that is a long-coil, integrated 'spike' of a gun, most of the bulky outer layering stripped away to add more mass to the acceleration coil. Are those crystals interspaced along the coil ladder too? Finally, a squat, dumpy gun, with what looks like a crystaline prism set into the aperture of the 'barrel'. It sports a small, arm-mounted device, cabled up to it.
Rory White	"I don't possess a doctorate." Murmurs a somewhat amused Rory White as she shuffles through the base and into the R&D. She's swapped out her usual attire for some kind of skintight white suit, bedecked with dozens of mount points for gear around the waist. The white suit has glowing blue lines in circuit-like patterns stylishly zig-zagging all over it. Anyone who's spend time in the crisis Deelel was handling will recognize the design, although this is a bit different - it's evoking the imagery, but this is simply smart clothing. And oddly enough it's coinciding with a slightly more expressive, more confident Rory White. It doesn't take her long to figure out the meaning behind the arranged gear. "Further refinements to the laser weaponry?"
Yulia Koslova	Yulia's name was not tagged in the announcement, which is completely understandable. Put her behind the controls of a mobile suit? She's golden. Put her in a research lab? ...Yeah, she's going to keep her hands at her sides and not touch a thing. Well, okay, she touches the door controls so that she can poke her head in, but that's it. "Would it be all right if I watched?" she asks from the doorway. "Or is this for scientists eyes only?"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa has been well getting patched up from her adventures out in the multiverse. She had also dropped off the data from her use of alien grandes against the undead to the local database. She always kept it in mind, that when she used XCOM hardare she would report about it after all any data even what might seem pointless to her? Might be useful to Shen's people. She comes in looking well enough and seems to be curious about what they go in for testing today. "Ohh they been busy with the lasers by the looks of it."
Elise Leroy	Vahlen steps in just behind Kotone. The Good Doctor giggles softly at Rory, before nodding to the team. "Yes. While the Rifle and Pistol have proven their worth far beyond our expectations... I believe we must provide specialized equipment for our other combat roles." she explains. "Doctor Shen has the prototype for our new Interceptor laser. We based that one off the Compression Lasers provided by Captain Kismarin. He is also working on a new toy for the MEC Troopers, though he has kept that one under his hat, so to speak." The Doctor then moves to the test range. "Miss Koslova? We could use someone to help demonstrate these weapons.. I believe you are familiar with hand weaponry?" she offers to the MS Pilot.
Yulia Koslova	"I've gone through Basic just like everyone else," Yulia answers, followed by a self-depreciating smile as she joins the others. "Though our standard-issue sidearms are a little smaller than this. Still, I'm willing to give it a try." She gestures to the prototype that's been laid out, asking silently whether she should go ahead and pick it up.
Rory White	"Scaling up should prove easier! Since weight is SLIGHTLY less of a concern with vehicles." Rory's pleased indeed at this. A design for a vehicle means her robotics expertise will have some meaning here. "How is the progress so far? Any design snags?"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa turns to ROry for a moment and grins at her find. "You know your looking good in that Rory, I like it. You have to tell me where you got that at some point." She pulls out a phone and snaps a photo of her friend befor eit vanishes back into her clothing quite rapidly. She's now going into full business mode and the Dctor also Giggled? Wait what?! Okay there's a look of shock on Kotone's face for a moment. "Good to see you Yulia." She listens and pauses. "I think I might be strong enough to carry some MEC TRooper weapons now, this class of body."
Elise Leroy	Vahlen gestures to the smallest first. "We are calling this one a 'Scatter Laser'. As the name implies it will take the place of a traditional shotgun for our close quarters specialists." The device isn't heavy, but there /is/ heft to it. The wrist-mounted device is simple enough, wrap the straps around the trigger wrist, and dial it up. "The primary snag with these weapons has been, of course, cooling. Especially with the Heavy Laser." Doctor Shen comes into the lab after a moment. "Did you want to take a look at the Craft Laser, Miss White?"
Yulia Koslova	"Good to see you guys too," Yulia answers. She hadn't meant to be rude, just that Doctor Vahlen gave her something to do right away. The young woman gives the smallest rifle an experimental lift first, before picking it up for real and then maneuvering it where it and she need to be. Of course she practices basic safety, not pointing the business end at anyone or anything except the ground. "And it'd be too much to ask for the aliens to attack in the Arctic or Antarctic. How many shot does its...ah...does this have a cartridge, e-pack...?"
Rory White	"You know my stance on cooling." Comes Rory's answer, firm yet still understanding. "But certainly. Let's see what can be done for both! Starting with the craft's. I'm much better with larger scale technology!"
Rory White	And only after saying that does she respond to Kotone by... giggling a little? "It is much more stylish than the last design! You really like it?"
Kotone Yamakawa	Kotone Yamakawa says "Yes I love it, we'll have to talk about just where you got it later." She now turns her attention to the work. Humm which thing do you need me on I should be able to heft the heavy laser easily enough."
