Nightblind STONEGATE CITY: Port District. East Docks.

There's the usual night time traffic through here, Taxis dumping off people who gave the wrong address. The occasional transient wandering through. Stonegate City has its high life, sure -- but it has a whole lot of lowlife as well.

It's a nice night for a wlak though; chilly but clear on a very early spring night. The stars aren't /quite/ drowned out by all the light here. There are long, tall cranes for moving shipping containers off decks, and a variety of ships at port here.
Fayt Ravus     A recently unified city? With a port district? Clearly this needs investigating.

At least That's why Fayt thought as his ship comes into dock. Said ship might stand out slightly. It's definatly a ship fo the 'space' varity, though it's apparently been modified for water landings. it sits in the dock with it's back towards the city, rear hatch open and boarding ramp dropped as Fayt carefully make his way off ship, a few worekrs following behind him and talking amongst themselves.
Nightblind     A few of the other sailors around gawk, but rub at their eyes, and either decide that it's 'one of those nights' or that it's just time to get to bed. They wander away as Fayt and a few of his workers following him like ducks as they make their way away from the dockside.

    Oh, but they've been spotted.

High up, on one of the cranes, someone was keeping vigil. Her dark skin was shown only from the round of her nose down, everything else was swabbed in shadowy grays. She's holding onto the control house, feeling the wind through her fingers.

"Whoa. Night, do y ou see what I see?"
"Tch. How insensitive... the echo just picked up a ship that we've not seen before, but I don't think it's the Calhoun Cross."
    "What makes you say that?"

"... it... it's not from our world, Mackenzie."

The figure gives a slight smile, and moves closer on quiet feet to investigate the ship -- and its emerging occupants.
Fayt Ravus     Fayt frowns a bit as he notices the other gawking. Granted, he'd expect that from a new place. Even after the oher elits have shown up, on top of various other visit form outside, Fayt's relatively simple freighters can come as a bit of a shock. Quickly, he looks back to the workers. "Guys? Best behaviour, no trying to freak the locals out. That means you, Mark."

There's a surprsied "HEY!" from one of the workers.

"Just be careful, I'm not sure who or what's been here ahead of us."

The workers reply with various affermatives as they continue.
Nightblind     The figures attract more than just the local vigilante's attention; there's a group of tough looking guys take a look at Fayt and his crew.

"Whoa... there's a group I've never seen before. WHat's up? Out for a night out on the town?" one of them laughs, and makes kissy noises at the grouping.

Above them, the vigilante watches quietly. And keeping a weary eye, she drraws an arrow from her quiver, and nocks it to her bow, preparing.
Fayt Ravus     Fayt frows again. Oh goodie, ruffians. Glancing back at his workers, Fayt slows for a moment, glancing at the workers with him then at the other group quicly before going back to walking. He doesn't actually say anything but the message is clear: Be careful.

It's a small group over all, about 3-4 of Fayt's employees, and they're now sticking a bit closer to him. Just in case things get ugly.
Nightblind     The ruffians all laugh at one another, grouping around as they form an arc, trying to block Fayt and his workers -- /especially/ Mark -- from getting around. "So, where you boys from? Don't recognize your ship. Don't recognize you. And we know /all/ the ships that come into Stonegate, don't we boys?"

One of the men snorts, loudly, like a pig, and cracks his knuckles.
Fayt Ravus     Sigh.

Yep, trouble. Fayt makes a quick gesture to his men, as they back a step away. Calmly, he pulls his staff off of his back. "We're not from around here, more importantly..." he reaches around to pull his staff off his back. "I'm going to guess we're one of the first outsiders to show up here, either that or you somehow missed the big news. Move aside please?"

Coincidentally, Fayt looks like he's in his late teens a best. cleary he's not the group's leader, right? Also, his staff is moving, it's sort of... twisting itself about in a way that's likely physically impossible. Maybe it's just a trick of the light?
Nightblind     These aren't the best, or the brightest guys that hang out by the docks. They don't seem to notice that Fayt's staff is twisting around itself, they just see some geeky kid take out a stick. That causes the biggest guy to burst out laughing. "And what're you gonna do with that, kid? Oooh! Summon a dragon!" he laughs. His belly shakes. His jowls shake. He knocks an elbow into one of his friends, who just gives a big grin.

"Allright pipsqueak. Hand over your cash and none of you or your friends get hurt, aight?" he asks, and goes to take a step forward -- when his hand suddenly grows a long, dark shaft, tipped with black feathers! An arrow's peirced his hand!

<What the -- Night, did he just pull out a stick?>
<I told you, they're not from around here. Try to get me a facial recognition. I'm not going into this... without some information.>

After she looses the arrow, the dark figure clamps a handhold onto the side of the structure of the crane, and begins to slide down!
Fayt Ravus     Fayt groans. Oh great, Well, here's hoping the local authorities are better informed, Explaining hte Myltiverse after soemthing like this would be... difficult. "Alright sp-" He suddenly stops as the man gets an arrow through his hand. "...huh." Quickly, he stakes his head clear, right, there's more of them, focus. "Right, little FYI fellas? Magic is real, observe." He suddenly aims towards the group, and says calmly. "Burning hands."

There's a loud FWOOS as a wave of fire flies from Fayt's staff. He's not howver, trying to burn everyone alive. In fact he's made absolutely sure the flames come up short. He's got non-combatants with him and doesn't want to risk a drawn out fight. Besides, he might end up doing business here nad murder makes a REALLY bad first impression, so hopefully one good show of magic should get the message across: RUN! "That 'dragon' enough for you guys? I can try to make it hotter if you want!"
Nightblind     The men are set off by first the arrow, and then second, the explosive fire effects, making them back away. The guy with the arrow in his hand is panicking, and turns, running straight into a wall, slamming his head into the brick, stumbling backwards, and then the group dashes off into the night.

And then there's a step behind Fayt.

"... well." comes a slinky Female voice. "... that was impressive."
Fayt Ravus     "Alright guys, back to the ship, I'll scout ahead on my own." There's several affermatives as the workers double back towards the ship.

As everone clears out, Fayt lets out a deep breath, "Well, thisi s off ot a ba-AAA WHAT THE?!" Fayt suddenly whirls around as someone pops up behind him, backing up a step before stumbling and toppling over backwards with a dull thud. "...ow."

Our fearless leader, ladies and gentlemen.
Nightblind     Nightblind pauses. Leaning over, she cants her head, slowly, to the tumbled-over stuffgetter.

And she reaches down with a gloved hand, and offers Fayt a hand up. She doens't say anything, or apologize for scaring him.
Fayt Ravus     Fayt lays sprawled out on his back, looking a tad confused as to what just happened. He blinks at the offered hand, before taking hold of it.

Once he's standing again, Fayt takes a moment to dust himself off before looking to Nightblind. "Um... hi?"
Nightblind     The hooded figure tilts her head again, and as she finishes making a judgement about the stuffgetter, and she gives a brief nod.

    "Good evning, Fayt Ravus."
Fayt Ravus     Fayt backs a step away from Nightblind. "Um... yes... I'm not sure how you got my name." for possibly obvious reasons, the little guy seems a touch uneasy. clearly, his trip out here hasn't been going very well. "Can I... help you with something?" Fayt's trying to slip back into business-mode, but he's having a bit of trouble given the odd situation he's found himself in. "I'm sorry, but what should I call you?"
Nightblind     "Nightblind."

The young woman replies, and she glances back in the direction that the men ran.

"They will not bother you further." she states again, plucking the arrow from the ground and she lifts it back, and tucks it into her quiver.

    "... your face is recognizable."
Fayt Ravus     Fayt tils his head to the side. "I guess it is? Well at least you got my actual name."

There's a long, awkward pause, then. "Anyway, thank you for the help Nightblind." He lets out another deep breath. "Hopefully I haven't jsut made too big a mess of things here."
Nightblind     "... I figured that Stuffgetter would not be you real name." Nightblind replies, bit with a bit of a smile.

"No, you've not made a mess of things. I fit was not your group, then they would have gone after someone else, some other group. PErhaps someone less able to take care of themselves."
Fayt Ravus     Fayt goes slightly red on the face. "I probably should of expected that." A pause, then. "Anyway, is there anything I can help you with? You seem to know a few things about me, but I know nothing about you so you've kind of got me at a disadvantage here."
Nightblind     "I like to keep them guessing." Nightblind gives a wry smile, and giving a nod to Fayt, she turns, and begins to stalk off back into the dark.
