Yunomi Stadler     RAVNICA -- THE IZZET SECTOR -- NIVIX

In a room off to the side and several dozen floors up, a green-and-blue medic has finished up tending a few wounds on the dark-haired guardian tanuki, checking over a healing wound on her forehead. No official report was filed, but word has a habbit of spreading, and likely some goblin or another alerted Richard Stadler to Yunomi's caper with 'some guy in blue pajamas and the annoying guy with the bulldog'.

Her ears are pricked up, and she shares an embarrassed joke with the insectoid-fish-like Merfolk who was tending to the wound.

"Aaah, I see." the medic replies, and holds up the shattered bits of glass and brass that were Yunomi's goggles. "They did do something!"
Richard Stadler Stadler hadn't explored this section of Ravnica for some time. Or the Izzet sector. Or Nivix. Come to think of it, he hadn't been here for some time, and probably wouldn't have been able to squeeze it into his schuedle, had not a gblin arrived at his office door being watched by a 19 year old PFC with a grip a little too tightly on a nine millimeter.

Which meant he had to ask direction several times with a renutine of a communication corporal, and two rifleman, as he looks up toward the tops of the doors. "And... here we are." He says, before walking through the door way with a slight knock, whistling once to post the two rifleman outside the room. "So." He says, just a simple word thus far.
Yunomi Stadler     The medic glances up, bright green eyes settling on the human man -- but Yunomi's face lights up. The wound has faded to an old-looking scar by now, her hair washed and wearing a blue tank top over a pair of loose-fitting red pants with golden stripes on them. HEr ears prick up, and a smile spreads across her face.

"Dad!" she greets him, enthusiastically, and she almost leaps off the chair she was poised on to wrap her arms around the ol' Veteran of the wars and worlds. The medic gives a small smile, and excuses himself, passing by the Stadlers and the retinue of riflemen.
Richard Stadler The returning smile is almsot reflexive when he sees Yunomi look at him with pricked up ears and a happy expression. She's leapt at him so quickly that she probably does't see him wince slightly at the wound and scar she's taken, a reminded of how dangerous things could be out here. Or probably were. He still didn't exactly know what happened.

He'll rectify that after the proper tight wrap of his arms around the tanuki, squeezing her tightly for a moment, and then letting go so she could see the smile. "Hey, Yunomi. You're looking... well, not as bad as I always fear when I hear about these things. A measure of pride there." He turns around, looking around for a chair through spectacles, and finds a chair to sit down in, leaning forward. "So, I heard bull dog, and blue pajamas. I didn't hear 'cult activity' or ravening hordes of the undead pounding on the door, so I don't think I'd have to be too concerned about it, but, spill. What happened?"
Yunomi Stadler     It really did warm her heart to know that her dad still fretted about her safety... even when she's so far away and out of his influence. She just keeps her arms around him, feeling his arms around her, and for a few brief moments... everything was right in all the worlds.

What a pity those moments are too short and so far between. Yunomi gives a nod, and just seats herself where she stood, in mid-air. Her tail hangs down behind her, the tip occasionally sweeping the floor.

"Well, coincidentally it looks like Steve Rogers got lost around the same time Chuck and I were talking a walk." Yunomi replies, and she rubs the back of her head. "There were some guys wearing black robes escorting a small transport truck made by Mitsubishi... and we don''t get a whole lot of vehicle traffic in this sector." Yunomi explains, "So I went to ask them about it. And wouldn't you know it? They tried to tell me they had a colony of ferrets."
Richard Stadler Richard Stadler says, "Being Stadler's only child, it was only natural for him to properly fret. Granted, she was a capable combatant on her own right, and had people depending on her as much as he him... which was something generally more existential to fret about. He keeps that inside, however, relishing the hug then working into the report.

"I don't expect you would, given the place this is in. Esspecially not a Japanese car manufactuer... Haven't checked the maps lately, though, so I suppose the a modern Japan could be right off the coast, for all I know. Ferrets?" He says, cocking his head, before pausing. "And black robes. I think I might have spoken too soon on the cult activity bit. I assume the actual cargo was a bit more violent? Was Captain Rogers injured as well?" Didn't need to ask for his rank. Stadler does some reading. A lot of reading."
Yunomi Stadler     "Oh, no, ROgers wasn't hurt. Too badly. Ah... that I could see. And Chuck used his head...." Yunomi pauses, and then winces "... to headbut one of the the men in black." Yunomi replies, and she rubs the back of her head. "We're still working on trying to recovr more info. It's not a group I'm familiar with. They were carrying a live animal in the back, and we made it our mission to grab it and pretty much wreck their day when one of them tried to shoot me in the head."
Richard Stadler "I don't think I've read any reports of him collapsing at the tree afterward, so if he did sustain significant injuries, he's not telling us." Stadler says, pausing for another moment. "And Chuck was there... visiting you here, I might guess?" He tries to say casually, before moving right along to the next part. "I think it would be an insult to call them men in black. Didn't blend in at all, and should have transported in something more native to the area."

Another pause. "The one that tried to shoot you in the head." He says, calmly. "I trust he's not going to be a factor in any future equations?"
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi purses her lips, and summons her tokkuri from thin air, along with a pair of mugs, colored bright green with happy tanuki faces on them. "Dad. Chuck and I are dating, he was here visiting me at work the same way I go and visit him in the Shatterdome," she pours two steaming mugs of liquid, "and he's sustained minor injuries on my behalf. I'm pretty sure if he knew that I was all right and just stunned after the shot, he wouldn't have tried to heroically save me, but would have broken the shooter in half with his bare hands as a warning to other potential threats."

And she hands Stadler a green mug. The tea inside smells warm and citrusy.

"And you're right. They were golden-eyed black-robed lizard-men with gigantic fangs and black snake tongues. But it's really just easier to call them 'men in black'."
Richard Stadler Richard Stadler feels the silence in the room grow, just a little bit, as Yunomi prepares drinks for the two of them. His own silence continues with pursed lips and averted eyes as she speaks, but he does take the mug that's handed to him, bringing it up to his face to take a long breath of it, before taking a sip. Caffine was Caffine, and being placed in a tea when he preferred coffee didn't change it's place as a welcome and slightly addicting firend to Stadler.

A quick sip of the tea itself. "Lizard-men. Suppose I shouldn't be suprised. Message boards have said they've been ruling the world for years. The smarter ones even call me one." He says, indicating a face. "This is supposed to be a very realistic latex mask." A bit of a smile, before a cough. "And... I suppose I can't fault his reaction. I would have had the same one, and perhaps that's what has me... pausing." He takes a bit of a deep breath. "Not with my bare hands, though. Far too old for that. But... well. Those sorts of feelings are best left for another discussion. What sort of creature were they transporting? I expect something canine?"
Yunomi Stadler     Except it's caffeine-free herbal tea.

Yunomi is trying to keep away from anything hat's going to keep her up too much.
"After calling you dad for more than half my life, I'd be genuinely surprised if you pulled /that/ one out of your hat." Yunomi replies wryly, but she's got a smile on her face.

"... actually..." she begins, and she takes a deep drink of her tea...

"It... was a baby hippo. With wings."

Yunomi purses her lips. "... I want to call him Albert."
