Zephyr Windstar     <SESSION START. LEVEL NINE COMBAT SCENARIO, MULTIPLE OPPONENTS. WAVE ONE OF FIVE. BEGIN.>

The announcement comes from everywhere, as the non-descript white room changes to a dense jungle setting. Zephyr opens her eyes as the area finishes resolving and draws her Device. "Divine Wind Storm. SET UP!" she calls, claret and clear even through the stifling foliage.

<ALL SYSTEMS GREEN. READY SET. BARRIER JACKET, BREEZE MODE. DEVICE SET, WINDSHEAR FORM.> announces the Device.

The mage is wreathed in deep purple mana, her clothes dissolving then resolving into her signature BRIGHT YELLOW AND ORANGE Barrier Jacket. The small coin of her device also reforms, expanding out massively into a six-foot long battleax. <BEGIN AREA SCAN. HOSTILES DETECTED!>

Zephyr nods, and hops up into the air, four purple 'pixie wings' spreading out from her back, before laser bolts come lashing out of the undergrowth. The faint white of some kind of full body armour suit can be seen here and there. "Stormtroopers... Really?" she sounds incredulous... until she gets scored by four bolts in a row. "Ow, okay, these aren't the rookies." That sends her jinking and juking behind trees, waiting to see the full composition of the attackers before returning fire.
Kamon Lionward Kamon has had his share of fighting lately. He didn't actually come to do that. He also didn't come to pick a fight with Zephyr, despite her current attitude possibly building to that. Maybe he can smooth some stuff over, though?

Kamon steps into a jungle. He blinks, looking around, and then down at a pane of something like glass in his hand. He sets himself as an observer. The simulation should ignore him, and it should mark him as such to anyone actually participating.

"Uh... hey," he calls. He doesn't do it when she's under fire; he waits till he can see her waiting in cover, so he doesn't distract her. Make sure whoever is firing doom rays knows you're there. Practically the first rule of Black Magic Club.
Bahamut      Zephyr seems like a good kid, and like himself seems to have stepped into a situation that is not her fault. So, the KING OF DRAGONS (Spira version) steps into the ring and sets himself as part of the simulation. So, as Zephyr hides and Kamon greets, Bahamut approaches, his steps sending light thuds through the ground. "If you truly wish to blow off steam, allow me to be your opponent, my lady." Bahamut says to Zephyr.

But, just in case she doesn't want to fight a big dragon, Bahamut doesn't attack the storm troopers, either. Unless they attack him, of course.
Zephyr Windstar     <A NEW CHALLENGER HAS ENTERED THE ARENA.> announces Divine Wind. <PREPARE TO FIGHT YOUR RIVAL!>

The Stormtroopers go inert once an Elite enters the arena and sets himself as part of the simulation. It's not designed to accomodate an Elite-level opponent alongside the Regular NPCs. "Tch. Whatd'ya two want?" she snarls, looking first at Landon, who's marked with a big blue NO TARGET marker to her HUD, then to Bahamut, marked as a large red HOSTILE marker. "Can't y'see I'm tryin' t'RELAX here!?"

She's upset, yeah, but the fact that /anyone/ came to check on her is stifling the full flame of her anger.
Kamon Lionward Kamon's got his hands in his pockets and his usual sword slung over his shoulder. There's a bandage visible beneath the collar of his coat. Must be why he didn't come in here to knock some skulls. Well... /a/ skull.

"Um..." He looks to the ominously-clad Stormtroopers, and then back at her. Bahamut gets a glance, a tiny nod, but no other real acknowledgement. He might be a bit sore about the fiasco not too long ago. "...yeah. I just wanted to apologize for my classmates, that's all."
Bahamut      Bahamut just grins as Zephyr meets them with that rather hostile greeting. "That is why I am here, Miss...Windstar, I believe? Fighting computer simulations cannot quell rage nearly as effectively as fighting a living opponent." He moves around to where the troopers were standing, giving Kamon a nod in the process. "You have given your apology. You should join us in rage quelling." he says to Kamon as he passes.

Once in position, Bahamut spreads his wings and takes on his proper Aeon pose. Arms crossed over his broad chest, one foot behind the other. "I sense that you are like me, Miss Windstar. You do what you feel is right and stand up for yourself, regardless of how it sits with others. And when you are wrong, you accept that. All of this political intrigue is tiresome. Warriors should not have to deal with such things. Let us enjoy a moment of respite in the form of a spirited combat!"

He doesn't wait more than a few moments after that to launch an attack. Impulse. Three explosives orbs of non-elemental energy. They land in front of Zephyr, far enough forward not to actually cause harm, but close enough that the shockwave is still felt.
Zephyr Windstar     <INCOMING SHOOTING-TYPE ATTACK. RAMPART AEGIS!> announces Divine Wind, a half-bubble of purple magic forming between the Mage and the explosive bolts. THe shockwave sends splintering cracks through the defensive barrier. Tch. "So y'wanna fight huh?! Fine THEN!" she returns fire, sweeping her axe in a half circle before her. Motes of light form in its wake, expand out to about the size of an apple, before she thrusts a hand forward. "SHOOT!"

<IMPUSE CASCADE!> chimes the Device, as each mote is launched with the cracking sound of a gunshot.

"Nothing to /apologize/ for. Yer classmates know better than me. I'm just some cocky /Extraversal/ upstart playin' with stuff I /don't understand/." The sarcasm dripping from her voice could be used to mortar bricks together.
Kamon Lionward "I've done my fair share of that over the last few days, back home -- it's, uh, customary for my family to return to Odin before and after Victory Day to assist in the worst of the fighting." Might explain why he was kind of sore that things went south on Victory Day itself. He's still tense, even now. He's doing well to conceal it, but there's a certain amount of anger and strain in his body language that doesn't come out in his voice. "But, thank you for the offer."

Kamon looks back at Zephyr, frowning slightly. He looks concerned. "No, it's... my classmates and I have seen people try and do the qualification exams by themselves. Someone like you, with the kinds of things I've seen you do -- you could probably do the E-rank qualifier, maybe the D if you score high enough to make up for the lack of a teamwork score. But anything higher than that, you'll need a team."

"It isn't that you're /unskilled/," Kamon continues, "it's really not. It's that they're designed to be overcome by groups of three or four people. They do things like put in pressure plates that disarm really dangerous traps while you're standing on it, but you have to leapfrog two at a time to get past. Or monster attacks underwater in an enclosed space while you try and work a lever or fix some gearworks to get the next chamber open."

Kamon shrugs. He shields his eyes when the fireworks start up. "But Landon's stressed out over the Shivan situation, and Cirra's his bodyguard or something, so she's got some of that, and... well," he adds a little awkwardly, "she's always been a bit... grating, you know? So I didn't want you to think that they were, I dunno, talking down to you because they thought they were better, or something."

There's a moment's pause. Kamon scratches his head, sighing. "I'm not really great at this. Sorry," he says again, lapsing back into a mutter.
Bahamut      Bahamut is bombarded with those shots, and emerges grinning. "Why are you so angry? Because they assumed you thought you were strong enough to handle their world's enemies alone? Or because everyone seemed to agree with them?" he says even as he holds out a finger. He makes a few gestures in the air, then points at Zephyr.

Energy suddenly coalesces around her before she is engulfed in a powerful fiery explosion. A Firaga spell. "Or, perhaps you are right, and you do not need their help in order to perform well on their world?" he adds.

After Kamon's little speech, Bahamut is once again standing in his typical pose. "Take it from me, Miss Windstar. Landon and his comrades are in a tough situation. Their entire world could fall apart with the slightest provocation. They are merely acting in a way they think will protect their home. Would you not do the same if your world were threatened?"
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr grits her teeth. She gathers herself up into a little ball as the flame spell takes effect. Divine Wind does what she can to diffuse the damage, but when the fire dies out... Zephyr is pretty badly singed, and is missing part of her Battle Skirt. "You don't know me at all!" she snarls at Bahamut, 'kicking' off the air, and launching straight for the Aeon.

She's trailing a bit of smoke from her Barrier Jacket, where an ember quickly dies out in the rush of high-pressure air, but her grip on her Device is solid.

It takes a couple of seconds for the high-speed Mage to cross the distance between herself and the King of Dragons, and in that time, her Device has begin to rapidly spin, like a drill. <TORNADO STRIKER!> chimes the Device, the blades angled, sheathed in condensed Wind-element mana, and being held like a Knight would their Lance.
Kamon Lionward Kamon said his piece. He steps back, leaning on one of the projected trees and watching the pair of them brawl. He hasn't seen anything like this, at least not one-on-one. Bahamut in particular. Dragons fighting...

"Hmh." He shrugs a little, adjusting his coat. Maybe a fight /is/ what she needs.
Bahamut      Bahamut has a few seconds to prepare for the incoming attack. Which is plenty of time to ready a counter. He spins as she comes in close, and his thick metallic scutes turn what would be a devistating hit into a glancing blow. And as he spins, he brings a fist around to swing at her back before she gets out of distance. "You are right! I do not know you." Bahamut says, rumbling. "But, I do know it is rude to ignore such a heartfelt apology, even if you think it is unnecessary!" he adds.

His wings spread to slow his spin, and he comes to a stop facing Zephyr again. "So, why are you so upset, then? Everyone involved has apologized for their insensitive words. You have acknowledged that group fighting is not your strong suit. So, why are you still so angry?!" Bahamut bellows as if he is angry, but really he is attempting to temper Zephyr's anger with an equally strong challenge. And that challenge is accompanied by another spell. This time, a lightning spell. Static builds on Zephyr before in the blink of an eye powerful bolts of lightning strike at her from all sides, creating a deafening thunderclap.
Zephyr Windstar     THUMP. SLAM, Bounce THUD. That's the sound of a mage glacing off a dragon, getting BACKHANDED by said dragon, and slamming into a tree. She doesn't have time to recover as the Lightning strikes, setting the tree ablaze and scorching more of the girls Barrier Jacket.

She forces herself to her feet, gritting her teeth as she glares at Bahamut. "They did huh? Then why the FALK did Landon give that big speech before I turned off my radio?! I'm sick, and tired, of people talkin' to me like I'm some kinda KAL'DRAM!" she sweeps her axe to the side. "Stop talkin' and FIGHT ME if y'gonna!" The Device chimes, and alters form, shortening and ejecting a pair of 'Bits' that begin to orbit her. <MISTRAL FORM. GET SET!>

She's mostly ignoring Kamon, because, well, Bahamut's got her entire attention... and she's pretty one-tracked when angry.
Kamon Lionward Kamon does not seem to mind being ignored. It is entirely possible that he is frequently ignored, in fact, and --

Bahamut does something with lightning. Kamon feels a little tingly. He claps his hands over his ears and looks away just before the bolt explodes into sight. He doesn't really want to see spots for the rest of the day because he tried to put out a potential brushfire.
Bahamut      "He is frustrated with his situation, and with all that has happened likely feels that we 'Extraversals' do not respect his world as well as we should. Had you continued to listen rather than storming off, you might have heard his apology, as well as the apology of the woman who was the source of your own anger." Bahamut says calmly as Zephyr prepares another attack.

"Also, what is a Kal'dram?" the dragon asks before, as Zephyr prepares whatever it is she is preparing, Bahamut's powerful wings give an equally powerful flap, and he is rocketing toward her, talons outstretched, ready to rend the windmage if she is not careful. Seems he thinks he can fight -and- talk.
Zephyr Windstar     A shift in stance, a flare of WHITE from behind her signals /something's/ changed, and as Bahamut wings on in for a melee strike, she vanishes. Claws find empty air as a travel 'furrow' appears after a few moments, something moving at an insane amount of speed breaking the ground in its wake, like an aircraft flying too close to water and kicking up a spray wake.

She reappears crouched against the trunk of a tree, bending it back from the force of her impact to it. AS she looks up, a glint flares in her eye, before she surges out for Bahamut's back. <MISTRAL CUTTER!> announces the Device, as the single blade of her axe glows brilliant purple. <MISTRAL SQUALL, STRIKER MODE!> the Bits clanking into position on the counterweight side of the blade, and beginning to rapidly spin, adding impetus to her strike.
Bahamut      Bahamut's eyes widen as Zephyr disappears. He continues through the air before banking around, then notices that furrow before, barely a moment later, that tree bends backward. "That is fairly impressive..." he says to himself just before Zephyr strikes. He is nowhere near agile enough to get out of the way, so he has to settle for rotating quickly to try and block the attack with his long talons.

There is a thunderous clash as Zephyr impacts those talons with that powerful attack. Bahamut is actually pushed backward in the air and sparks fly from his talons as he weathers the attack. A fiece growl escapes him while his talons are being cut into, but he is not idle. As they clash, the air around Zephyr starts to get chilly, then in the blink of an eye ice explodes around her, the sharp crystals threatening to shred her and the cold threatening to freeze her. "A powerful strike!" Bahamut compliments her. "But, it seems you need to...cool off!" He fully expects another powerful strike as payback for that terrible comment, and the amused grin on his face shows it.
Zephyr Windstar     <WIDE AREA ATTACK! EVADE!>

Divine Wind's alert causes the Mage to tch, and she backs out of the Blizzard spell just before it fully goes off, leaving ice crystals frosted over the metal parts of her Barrier Jacket. She sails through the air, as her Device ejects built up mana charge via a pair of steam vents, and lands lightly a few dozen feet away.

She's still not responding though, as the Bits detach from their position, and begin rapidly rotating around the head of her axe. She doesn't seem to be attacking... unless you count the building glow in the gemstone of her Device.

Zephyr then brings the head of her axe up like one would to issue a challenge, only the blade shifts away from the gemstone a little bit, and the Bits settle to spin rapidly just in front of the Device head. <MISTRAL BUSTER!>

The clarion call heralds a torrential outpouring of purple mana, the Beam run through a cohesion field projected between the two Bits, making it a bit more uniform than other Buster-type spells. It cuts up a furrow of the jungle floor, and smashes aside trees as it lances towards Bahamut.
Bahamut      Bahamut doesn't seem to mind that Zephyr doesn't respond verbally. He does, however, laugh out loud as he recognizes the stance of a powerul beam attack. "Perfect!" He suddenly leaps backward, landing on all fours on the ground. His wings spread, and the gyro on his back starts to spin. It quickly gains speed and energy starts to arc over it. Meanwhile, energy is also starting to build in Bahamut's open maw. At first it is just a glow, then it burst outward into a glowing orb of grey and white energy. It builds in size, energy arcing inside it, then suddenly...

..a column of energy as thick as Bahamut fires, then thickens even more. Anything caught in its path is saturated with pure energy to the point that it explodes, and as it approaches Zephyr it clashes with her own beam, sending out powerful shockwaves perpendicular to the beams' paths. Bahamut keeps unleashing energy, trying to overpower Zephyr's beam. He is the Aeon of Bevelle, Bahamut! It would be shameful if he lost in a beam contest!
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr goes wide-eyed. She wasn't expecting a Mega Flare in response! The Buster beam is quickly pushed back as it's struck, the far thinner beam no match for an attack of /that/ magnitude.

She's only got a few seconds, that's all she needs. <MISTRAL STORM! RAGIOS. RAZGRIZ. LETHIM! WE CALL UPON THE GREAT WINDS!> begins Divine Wind. "Parigium, Gralith, Horath. Deliver unto me a Maelstrom!"

The blade rotates 180 degrees around the gemstone, and a third Bit joins the first two, creating a rotating triangle formation. The original beam fades out... <MAELSTROM BREAKER!> but before the Mega Flare can strike her, a new torrent lashes forth. THe clash is so close that she takes the recoil from it, elements of her Barrier Jacket shredding under the energy flux... but slowly, the Maelstrome Breaker begins to force the Mega Flare back. How long she can /hold/ it, is another question, as she's already showing signs of major fatigue.
Bahamut      Bahamut has his turn to be surprised when Zephyr manages to change attacks and fire an even more powerful beam before his can overtake her. But, that developement just leaves him grinning. After all, there is no greater honor than overcoming or being overcome by an opponent of comparable power. Still, his energy supply seems limitless. That gyro on his back keeps spinning, gathering energy that is channeled into the beam. Bahamut's stance remains solid and strong, bracing himself against the backlash of his own beam and Zephyr's.

But, even he cannot hold a beam like this forever. His wings start to flap to vent heat from his body, which is is visibly glowing from the energy flowing through him. Now, it is a war of wills!
Zephyr Windstar     <CORE FRAME OVERHEATING. MANA ENERGY LEVELS DECLINING. CRITICAL WARNING!> announces Divine Wind.

Zephyr is panting for breath, and her Linker Core is beginning to /throb/ with trying to keep up the output it's being asked to. The mage's free hand lifts to her chest, one eye wincing closed before her power just gives out... like someone trying to whistle too long and they run out of air in their lungs.

The purple beam just... sputters out and the mage gets overtaken by the Mega Flare, knocking her back, through trees into the invisible wall of the Ring.

<FATAL STRIKE RECORDED. RESETTING SIMULATION.> announces the Ring's AI, returning the Arena to a blank white canvas room.

"..." is Zephyr's only response, as she lays there against the wall.
Bahamut      Not a moment too soon. Bahamut's beam subsides only moments after Zephyr is overtaken. The resulting explosions from the area around her just add more devastation to the attack. As soon as it subsides, Bahamut is up and moving to check on Zephyr. He knows this area is supposed to protect people, but he did not hold back, so he is slightly worried he might have actually hurt her.

With Zephyr down and elipsing, Bahamut chuckles to himself then carefully crouches down to pick Zephyr up. "Are you alright, Miss Windstar?" he asks as he carries her toward the sidelines.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr seems fine, the Ring's abilities having negated all the physical damage she took. The massive bruise to her ego though? Not so much. "Why do you even care?" she asks grouchily, struggling out of the dragon's grasp and turning her back.
Bahamut      Bahamut doesn't fight to keep hold of Zephyr. "If you are alright? Or about your situation?" Bahamut chuckles. "In either case, it is because we are allies. Because you seem to be in pain. And because the best way to overcome such pain is with a friend. I cannot say that I am that friend, but having someone around to vent to is better than smashing computerized simulated opponents." he says, then he gives Zephyr a pat on the shoulder before heading toward the door. "Not to mention, you are a lovely woman. Anger does not suit you." he adds, looking over his shoulder as he speaks, then turning it back as he approaches the exit.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr frowns, then looks back at Bahamut as he walks away. "..." She doesn't attempt to stop him, but his words do strike something inside. She sighs, and once the Dragon is out of the arena, she turns back to the middle of the white room. "Computer, begin simulation. Level ten duel, custom opponent. Load Lightning One." She waits for the program to start, and sets her stance. "Sometimes... you have to take your frustration out on something that can't feel pain..." she muses to herself as a blonde girl, holding an axe-like Device, and wearing a black Barrier Jacket materializes in the arena.
Kamon Lionward "Yeah. I guess there's something to be said for that."

Kamon's still there. He's sitting on the floor, legs bent and back to the wall. It must've been where the tree was. He looks at the blonde girl for a few seconds. The rendering is too detailed for it to be some random simulated opponent, especially if she said it was 'custom.' "Someone you want to beat?"
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr freezes for a moment, she didn't know Kamon was still here, but now the 'secret' is out. She sighs, and lowers her Device from ready stance, pausing the simulation. "Yeah..." she responds, before looking back at the Odynari. "Look... Kamon? I'm sorry... sometimes I get something stuck in my head and..."
Kamon Lionward Kamon is fairly quiet, considering he's full of metal and all. Helps that he isn't moving. He just kind of... gets forgotten, sometimes. "It's alright." He shrugs helplessly. "I'm used to it. Lots of people at the Academy get a goal in mind or get mad about something and chew on that determination or anger until it kind of... wears through, I guess."

He's quiet a moment. "Are you feeling any better?"
Zephyr Windstar     Another sigh. "I guess so." she replies. "I... I hate it when people make little of my abilities." She sighs, and moves over to join the Odynari against the wall, dismissing the simulation for now. "Ever since and Incident on my homeworld... I've been trying to get stronger, to Be the Very Best..." she shrugs. "With my faulty Linker Core, that's never gonna happen."
Kamon Lionward Kamon watches Zephyr head over, and then looks back across the room. He nods. "I... kind of have the opposite problem, I guess," he says. "Too many people expecting too much."

He turns his head and looks at her quizzically. "Linker Core? Is that, like --" He gestures at her Device. It is a moment wherein he is showing exactly how much of an ignorant offworlder he is.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr shakes her head. "It's the source of my magic... Think of it like a Heart... but instead of blood, it pumps mana." she explains, setting her Device on the ground, then lifting her hands up to 'bracket' her chest area. She holds that pose for a moment or two, before a pulsing sparkling purple orb floats slowly out to hover in the air.

The 'fault' is easy to spot, an angry looking 'storm line' in the otherwise serene dance of light motes and sparkles... like a scar. "This is my Linker Core."
Kamon Lionward Kamon watches the display curiously. He leans to one side to get a different angle on it. "I've never heard of something like that... woah. I guess it's kind of like being able to show someone your Job." He gestures at the 'fault.' It's hard to miss. "Looks like... damage, though, not a defect." Kamon looks away from the Core. "Is there a story there?"

"I'll understand if you don't want to say," Kamon adds. He folds his arms. "I've got my share of things I don't talk about."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr shakes her head, letting her Linker Core return to its normal place. "It's a fault.. had it since I was a kid." she subconsciously touches the scar on her face as she speaks. "Mom had the same fault... it's why she-- why sh--..." she winces, grits her teeth, then shakes her head, falling silent.
Kamon Lionward "Ah." He follows her gesture to the scar, and then frowns, looking away. The scar itself doesn't bother him; he's got his fair share, and the metal 'scars' tend to draw his share of strange looks. She looks like she's hurting, and he doesn't want to exacerbate it.

Kamon lowers his head, lapsing into silence next to her. He said he understands, and he does. Especially that.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr stands suddenly, and strides back to the center of the room. "Resume simulation." the Simu-Fate returns... and the battle that ensues is short, ending in Zephyr slamming into the ground after a brief melee scuffle.
Kamon Lionward Kamon stays where he is. He eventually stands, eyes tracking the furious melee. When Zephyr gets tossed away, Kamon checks the panel, wondering if the safeties are on in this thing. That's how this sort of sci-fi stuff works, right? He walks over, and rather than ask the obvious, just offers a hand back up.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr isn't so stupid as to turn the safties off. Not unless she's on Punishment detail at least. She grumbles, takes the hand and hoists herself back to her feet, as the Simu-Fate lands back in her starting position. "She's faster, stronger and more experienced than I am... that's why I'm trying so hard."
Kamon Lionward It's worth checking. Some people only learn when they're endangered. Sometimes they learn /really/ quick in those cases.

"My great grandfather had a saying: 'an enemy you know well is an enemy you need not fear.'" Kamon's taken his hands out of his pockets, and examines the Simu-Fate from this angle. "What's her specialty? It looked like close-quarters combat, but that definitely isn't all of it."
Zephyr Windstar     "All Range. She's fast, faster than I am, and that's saying something. What I've seen, are two modes... that one... and--" the Simu-Fate's Device shifts form, the axe-head swinging up to the top of the device, before an energy blade erupts from within. A scythe. "That one. She's got access to Bombardment spells, and multiple Shooting-type spells... and I /think/ she can throw that energy blade like a boomerang."
Kamon Lionward "Hmmm..." Kamon walks over to the Simu-Fate, taking a slow circle around her. He examines her Device, her Barrier Jacket, and the way she stands especially. "Speed doesn't usually come with endurance, at least not the kind you'd need to hold out against a serious attack. There's some way to mitigate it -- you weren't worried about Bahamut opening up with some of the bigger spells I'd seen," Kamon observes, looking back at Zephyr for a moment.

He reaches out, tapping the haft of the Device. "If I was going to fight her, I'd go for the long feint. Let her get ground until she's confident enough to move in on you; focus on defense and look for an opening. Then, hit her here --" He points at the scythe, right above where her hands would grip it, "-- and here." Kamon instead gestures at the top of her shoulders and along the upper part of Simu-Fate's chest.

"If you can disarm her, the fight's over. Your Device is probably too tough to get busted by a regular hit, right?" He nods back at the simulation. "But if you can get enough force past that magic armor you wear, direct it at the right spot, you could break the clavicle instead. It's an easy crippling shot if you can actually hit it."

"Not that anyone who can fight like that," Kamon adds in an impressed murmur, "would be an easy target..."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr nods as Kamon explains. "Problem is, she's really experienced, she'd probably see the feint coming... and I'm not exactly a subtle fighter." she shrugs. "My defense isn't exactly good, y'know. I didn't dodge because I knew it wouldn't hurt..." she huffs. "If I was in a real fight, I'd be fightin' similar to her... dodge hits and avoid attacks."
Kamon Lionward "Well, then you'll just have to get that experience," Kamon says, shrugging and smiling. "Nobody's unbeatable. It's just a matter of figuring out their weak point and exploiting it. But if you fight the same way, and she's better at it than you are, well..."

"I'm going to suggest learning a different way to fight if you want to beat her specifically." He points at Simu-Fate, looking at Zephyr. "Do something she doesn't. Something unexpected. Find a trump card and practice it until you can do it in your sleep. Then, practice it some more." His smile widens. "You can always get better; sometimes you've just gotta look for different ways to do it."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr sighs. "That's part of why I signed up for the Academy." she says, looking at Kamon. "I wanna help you guys out, but I always wanna see if I can adapt some of th'things /you/ guys do to how I do things... mix it up, y'know?"
Kamon Lionward "Yeah, I get'cha." He nods. Kamon sticks his hands back in his coat pockets. "Well... a lot of the things we learn to do is best employed when you're working in a team. It'd be easier to give you ideas if you had one." He scratches his head. "There'll be some things, though. I wonder how they're going to handle Extraversal students if they don't have Jobs, though," Kamon asks himself in a mutter.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr shrugs. "None of the other Mages can keep up with me though. None of 'em in my unit anyway... an' all'a th' ones that /can/ are part of Mobile Section Six... maybe I should get a transfer." she sighs. "Anyway, I should be heading back to base, it'll be evenin' patrol soon."
Kamon Lionward "Then it sounds like," Kamon says, "you'd fit right in. That's kind of Alexander Academy's standard." He nods after that. "I won't keep you, then. I should probably get going myself." There's a slight pause as he turns towards the exit. "I hope you have a quiet night," Kamon says, evenly and earnestly. He says it with the kind of gravity that someone experienced with warfare would.
