Landon al Cid      ALEXANDER ACADEMY

Alexander Academy is the foremost school for the rich and talented on the newly-unified world of Galianda. As such, Alexander Academy is also the first school to accept Extraversal students and faculty, both as a show of solidarity and exploration of the large new world Galianda's found itsef part of, and as a bit of a publicity stunt. The headmaster, Vannes Townsend, has made it a personal priority to ensure that each incoming student or teacher is of the highest quality, and understands well what's at stake here.

He's a stern-looking older gentleman, with a goatee, black hair, and bright green eyes sunken slightly into his skin. His hair is greying at the sides, suggesting he's in his middling years. He's dressed in a Galiandan suit, which is to say formalwear, sitting at his desk, waiting for his next interview. Though he looks stern, his smile is nonetheless a gentle one, and one might get a sense that he's a much kinder man than his initial appearance suggests. He certainly seems to know a bit more than everyone else around him, anyway - his eyes are filled with a quiet wisdom that you don't often see in any world these days.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr is a rather non-descript human woman, she's in her late teens but has an air about her of someone who's seen far more than an 18 year old really has any right to. She's striding confidently towards the Headmaster's office, after stopping several times to make sure she has the directions right, and as she walks, she's tapping away at a holographic display projected to the right of her head, a small keypad near her right hand allowing input. "You got the paperwork ready Dee? I wanna get this over and done with ASAP. From what I heard of that party we couldn't make, things could get ugly and fast." she says, earning a response chime from the coin-like Device in its bracer on her right arm.

She stops in front of the door, and takes a breath to calm her nerves. "Just like the Captain's officer, 'cept you're not in trouble." she rationalizes to herself, before lifting her left hand and rapping firmly.
Landon al Cid      "Please, come in," Vannes's voice tells Zephyr from inside. It's a strong, clear, determined voice. It's the voice of a man who knows who he is, how much influence he can comfortably wield, and what he's doing in and with his life. It's the voice of a man who, despite being somewhat lackluster as a Merchant, nevertheless earned the title of 'Headmaster of Alexander Academy.'

His office is exactly as lush as one would imagine the elite school's elite headmaster's office to be. It's filled with paintings and pictures, many of them done by former students, of all manner of things - landscapes, rare monsters, graduates. In fact, there's an entire wall dedicated to framed photographs of everyone who's graduated the school since Vannes took over.

     It's a large wall. It's a lot of people.

Vannes gestures for Zephyr to sit down at a lavish-looking black chair. "Welcome, welcome. I'm Vannes Townsend, Headmaster of Alexander Academy."
Zephyr Windstar     "Windstar. Zephyr Windstar. TSAB Ground Forces, 493rd division." she replies after opening the door and stepping inside. She snaps a salute. "Private, Third Class." she then heads on over to the chair, and takes a seat. She's wearing her military fatigues, the 'off duty' outfit for ground forces. It has the TSAB patch on various parts of the jacket, trousers and the shirt underneath. "And this is my Device. Divine Wind." she adds, lifting her right arm to show the blue gemstone set into a dark purple metal 'coin'. The gemstone lights for a moment or two, giving off a chime in greeting, but remains otherwise silent.

"I'm here, because... well, I'm interested in this world and I think enrolling in the Academy would be the better stepping stone than trying to grind my face against whatever governmental systems are in place."
Landon al Cid      "A pleasure to meet you, Zephyr Windstar, and Divine Wind." Vannes greets both Mage and Device evenly, largely because Vannes isn't the kind of person to be surprised by things. You don't last running a school like AA if you're easily surprised. He reaches out his hand to Zephyr to shake, and his grip is firm and strong, suggesting plenty of working out and experience despite his Job.

He sits back down and folds his fingers in front of him. "That's likely a wise decision, Miss Windstar. Truth be told, with the riot that happened n Victory Day, I'd be worried about Extraversals entering politics right at this moment. It's a dangerous situation even for those Galiandans who know it well. I have my ear to the ground every so often, and none of the rumblings I've been hearing bode well."

Vannes taps his forefingers together as he watches her thoughtfully. "But perhaps you can help with that, in your own way, if you're interested. I guarantee it will be as beneficial for you as it is for the school, if you're concerned about such things. At the very least, I think I can make you a compelling offer."
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr tilts her head a little as she listens. "I steer clear of politics. Too hard headed." she replies. "What's the deal? I'm all ears." she replies.

The Victory Day mention gets a nod. "I was gonna come, but the higher ups wanted me out on patrol that night... good thing too, cuz I'd've busted some heads."
Landon al Cid      "That's wise of you. People who are happiest know where they want to be, and it's not at the top of the political game. Uneasy the head, as they say." Vannes shifts a bit.

"Yes, maybe that was for the best," he replies thoughtfully.

"Well, in any case. It's very simple. You must understand that what we Galiandans fear above all else is a lack of order. The Enemy's mere existence defies and shatters patterns and exploits the natural order of things to bring madness and destruction." Vannes spreads his arms. "YOu can see, then, why so many Galiandans are worried about you Extraversals. Many of you don't fit into any patterns at all. Some of you have powers that don't make any sense to us through our lens of being."

"But I imagine they make sense through your eyes." Vannes taps the side of his head, around his temple, and smiles lightly. "I imagine they make perfect sense to you. Which is why I'd like you to participate in a study."

"I'd like you to describe your powers to us, somewhere that will be publically accessible. You don't need to tell us anything you're uncomfortable about. Just give us a brief explanation somewhere, and allow us to study you a little bit each term you attend school. The way I see it, if people here learn that Extraversals have their own patterns, their own ways of working, their own logic, they'll be much more comfortable with you. It might assuage the fear, so to speak, and promote better Extraversal relations."

Vannes chuckles. "And, on my end, I'm prepared to pay for your tuition and any classes you might be interested in taking. We'll call it a scholarship. That won't include books or amenities, but I imagine a bright young lady is more than capable of making a few gil appear with a little help, hm?"
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr listens carefully, "Don't worry, I have my own funds, what with my Union stipend and the winnings from last years World Martial Arts Tournament." she smirks. "I'm sure I could do some jobs around here too, clear out nests of monsters or whatever. Be a good show of what I can do as well."

The mage grins. "Sounds like a plan! I can have Divine Wind provide combat logs from my recent encounters if that'll help. Comes with telemetry and power flow charts and a neat video taken from her Core Matrix." she says, flicking her wrist and catching the coin... before said coin expands into a large battleax, easily as long as the girl is tall. "I'm all for beating up stuff so people understand me better."
Landon al Cid      "Then I believe this deal will work out very much to both of our benefits," Vannes says finally, watching Divine Wind expand. "I hope you find your stay at our Academy acceptable. I'd ask that you not bring too much extraversal currency into our world, of course - it might destabilize the economy in unforseen ways - but even then it shouldn't be much of a probem. There are always postings somewhere."

"I look forward to seeing what you sign up for. It should be most intriguing."
