Beatrice Marshal     Beatrice Marshal is alarmingly brutal as she makes her way into the Factory. Two guards are taken out immediately by Bio, collapsing to the ground. She moves in quickly, sending out spells at the defenders quickly - hands practically dancing across the tablet in her hands. It's not long before she's surrounded by whimpering bodies, some of them belonging to men almost twice her size.

She winces a little down at one of them as he vomits. "Aw man... Don't tell me a single -Bio- was too much..."
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk was on the far side of the area, conversing with some of the off-duty personnel when the alarm sounded. "Get your men to the evacuation point. I will send as many that I find your way while I deal with the intruder." the Miqo'te then turns and pulls her tome from her hip, and a red gemstone from a pouch. "Power of Wind, I summon thee forth." she begins, flipping the page open to a two-page Geometry. Aether flows into it from the surrounding tapestry of energy and then into the gem. "Give this gemstone form, and fill it with thy might." she produces a quill, and with a flourish of greenish blue light, 'signs' the page. "With this Contract I bind thee to my will. Come forth! Carbuncle!" She tosses the gem forwards, and a small blue fox-creature appears and falls into step.

The radio buzzes, and Mihk's face darkens. "They are not of our calibur. However you now face me." she says, taking her ready stance with her Emerald Carbuncle at her feet.
Beatrice Marshal     Beatrice currently has her back to Mihk as she looks down - her radio is apparently fed through the tablet in her hands, as Mihk's voice comes through it. "...Hmph. An Elite guardian?" She digs into her pocket, pulling out a green, multifaceted gem. She hols it tightly - chanelling MP through it - and then tosses it into the air - where, in a flash of light, it apparently transforms into a large, leather-bound tome. Beatrice catches it and then turns around.

    "...Huh."
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk narrows her eyes. "You appear to be an Arcanist like myself... This shall be an interesting battle." she says, then offers up her name. "Mihk Lihzeh, it will be an honour to battle another of the esteemed practice."

She then gathers power into her tome, while her Carbuncle also draws in Aether, lifting off the ground into a curled up pose, before a blast of white energy, and a rush of cutting winds assault the other Arcanist.
Beatrice Marshal     Beatrice deftly dodges to the side, the gust of cutting winds mildly grazing her side - but then she takes a Ruin straight to the gut, dodging right into its path! She stumbles back a bit, then grins. "Beatrice Marshal. Alexander Academy, Elemental-class."

She then dashes to the side, moving her hand across the pages of her book as the arcanimic diagrams begin to light up. "Ruin!" she calls, tossing a similar white-black orb of implosive force Mihk's way.

Using her attack as a distration, she quickly flips to another page. "Call: Emerald!" She calls out. The glyphs light up, and a gem appears in her hand. She tosses it out...

And a practically identical Carbuncle appears.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk is moving, though the generally 'guided' nature of magical spells means she gets caught by the returned Ruin blast in the shoulder, which makes her stumble and pirouette before regaining her balance.

There's a flash of surprise on her face as she spots another Carbuncle, but it's quickly masked again. "Impressive control." she offers in compliment. "Let us see how you fare against this." A different page, and a different 'flavour' of Aether is poured into the Geometry, lifting from the page and being 'flung' forwards toward the other Arcanist.

"Choke." she states simply, as the air around Beatrice and her Carbuncle suddenly transmutes into a choking Miasma.
Beatrice Marshal     Beatrice gags and coughs, tears streaming down her eyes. "Guh, I hate Misma..." she manages to gasp out, while flipping through her book. Arcane geometries glow again. "Fine, then, BIO!" she cries out, as she gestures as Mihk with her book.

Mihk suddenly feels nausea start to well up... While Beatrice's homunculus lets loose a gust of wind of its own.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk grits her teeth as the Bio takes hold, poison running through her veins. She staggers, vision swimming before being blasted over by the Gust. She's slow to stand, getting to a knee before she gathers Aether into a her tome again. She pours more power into it this time, and alters one of the glyphs before casting. The implosive bolt now flashes as it explodes on impact, hopfully blinding Beatrice for a moment while her Carbuncle receives a revenge blast of Wind from Mihk's.
Beatrice Marshal     Beatrice takes a Ruin II to the face. "GAH!" She stumbles back, momentarily blinded, while her homunculus tumbles back from the blow. Is she on the ropes?!

...Nope. She flips through the pages of her book, not even needing to see, as she starts channeling MP through the spell patterns within. "Let's see how you like it. MIASMA!"
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk chokes and coughs as the air around her turns into a choking cloud of noxious chemicals. The Miqo'te's ears fold down and her eyes wince shut, though she flips through her book pages to a different spell. She draws Aether, not into the tome, but through herself, causing her body to glow faintly, before she reaches a hand out at the other Arcanist.

It feels like something's grabbing hold of the energy running through her body, the life force and the magical power both, trying to siphon them away.
Beatrice Marshal     Beatrice is -wrenched- forward by the force of the Energy Drain, as her body tries to keep its energy inside... and fails. She staggers forward, and coughs. "...Heh. Okay. You... might have equal skill with Arcanima as me. Possibly more skilled. But... I stil have you at a disadvantage."

She stands up straight, flipping through her book still. Her homunculus yips threateningly!
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk stands finally, tail fluffed out and ears pinned down still, though she's wearing a very serious expression. "Indeed? I have faced off against many Extraversal foes in my relatively short time since unification. Bring on your tricks and skills. I shall defeat you with superior strategy."
Beatrice Marshal     "Physical Scan."

Beatrice touches a single glyph in her book. She suddenly sends out a very, very minor pulse of magic - so minor Mihk may not be able to even detect it. "You see. I'm not merely an Arcanist."

She begins to float, slowly, into the air by a few inches, as more glyphs in her book light up. "I am ALSO a Time Mage! GRAVITY!"

A dome appears around Mihk... which promptly exerts crushing force downwards.
Mihk Lihzeh     Gravity is a cruel mistress. And Mihk collapses to her knees under the sheer force of the spell. "Gnnn... Carbuncle. Operation Interference!" she strains out, placing a hand on the ground as she's forced more and more down to the floor.

The blue fox-thing darts around to one side, then gets closer to Beatrice before it unleashes a bludgeoning blast of wind-magic, trying to disrupt any channeling.
Beatrice Marshal     "...Did you just call your homunculus 'Carbuncle'?"

And then Beatrice is hot in the face with a Backdraft. She goes flying backwards - not helped by the fact that she's still floating in the air. The gravity dome vanishes as quickly as it appeared, while Beatrice careens through the air, spinning about almost comically.

She eventually manages to stop herself, while finding yet another page. "Ugh. That thing has to go. MAGNET!"

She snaps her fingers - and an orb of distorted space appears about Carbuncle, drawing it upwards. The force even drags on Mihk a little bit, but not strongly enough to pull her away - she's far enough away to be safe.

Once the Carbuncle is drawn into the distorted space... that's when the crushing starts.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk's eyes go wide as her Carbuncle is dragged into a sphere of crushing force. It struggles and writhes around, squealing in agony. "LET IT GO!" she screams in pure rage, throwing Aether through her Ruin glyphs in a way that causes the page to quite literally burst into flame. It doesn't /damage/ the enchanted paper, but it looks menacing and it does burn the sleeve of her robe.

The bolt that issues forth as she throws the glyph forwards is huge, but unstable, crackling with aetheric lightning.
Beatrice Marshal     "Nah. VEIL!" She calls, a distorted screen appearing in front of Beatrice. The OverRuin slams into it, dissipating into mana harmlessly as the barrier shatters.

"Magnet," she calls again, snapping her fingers - another orb of distorted space appearing behind Mihk. Suddenl force -wrenches- backwards - but the orb vanishes before Mihk can enter it, possibly sending her careening off into something solid.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk growls, but is then pulled backwards and slams hard into one of the facility walls... she hits hard enough the wall partly collapses around her, burying the Miqo'te in rubble. She might be down for the count, except that a deep, resonant horn sound comes from the rubble pile. It's a sweet melody, and the rubble blasts away from it in a controlled dispersal.

As Mihk stands up from the pile, she's holding a large weapon that she didn't have before. It's as long as she is tall and looks like a giant hammer made from bone and scales. Carbuncle, for what its worth, gathers power while being crushed, and unleashes another Gust to try and distract Beatrice, while Mihk charges forward, trailing the maul behind her. She's not a melee fighter, but that big weapon has enough mass behind it to come painfully, should she connect with the sweeping strikes she's now laying into the other Arcanist.
Beatrice Marshal     Beatrice winces, holding her arms in front of her. She takes a series of crushing hits - hits that, by all rights, should do serious physical harm. One of said hits launches her into the air and at a wall - but she just lands on the wall. Feet first.

    STANDING on it, in fact.

"You seem agitated." The Magnet shatters, dropping the Carbuncle to the floor. "Now get away from me. Emerald! Backblast!" she calls, pointing - and her homunculus obeys immediately, throwing up a powerful blast of wind to send Mihk and her Carbuncle flying.

Meanwhile, Beatrice has flipped back to the page that contains the spell-geometry for Ruin. "RUIN!" She cries. "And again!" She adds, as she fires off two Ruins. "And... BIO!"

The two ruins each sail towards a different target - while the Bio spell is apparently aimed at the Carbuncle.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk takes the Backblast to the face, skipping along the ground like a thrown stone. /Something/ breaks with a sickening SNAP as she lands awkwardly, one leg out at a very unnatural angle. The Ruin, luckily, strikes just off-target, showering the Miqo'te in debris while she's down. Meanwhile, her Carbuncle is struck by the second Ruin spell, then turns a slightly off-turquoise shade as it's infected by Bio.

Mihk grits her teeth, then dismisses the Carbuncle, pulling the gemstone back towards her and returning it to her pouch. "I yield... Your abilities outstrip my own." she says, then pours magic through her tome one last time. This one isn't an attack spell, instead she works healing power into her leg, dulling the pain for the moment.
Beatrice Marshal     Beatrice steps down from the wall, and smirks. "...Victory comes naturally to an Academy student." Then she bows to the 'camera'.

Psalm     There is a sudden flash of light from somewhere behind Mihk, and someone steps sideways through reality with a glaring, sparkling mess of arcane static. Miss Magatha SOngsteel, carrying a greatsword and dressed in her finest armor, steps out into the ruins of the battlefield, and steps stridently between Mihk and Beatrice.
There is glaring. She's also speaking over her shoulder. "Can you move?"
Beatrice Marshal     Beatrice has struck a bow. She doesn't appear to be paying attention to Magatha - although her homunculus, Emerald, is watching the Bard carefully.

    What a cocky kid!
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk shakes her head. "I have dulled the pain, but I will require medical attention to set the bone. We must away, quickly."
Psalm     The redhead mmmhs, and still watching the other Arcanist/Summoner lady, carefully steps around Mihk, and sheathes the greatsword. Then, she delicately hoists the Miq up in a Princess carry, growling at Beatrice. "Don't be so cocky, girl. Next time you may not be so lucky."
And then Magatha sings a clear, crystal clear lovely tune of travel, and both Bard and miq vanish in a haze of light.
