Yunomi Stadler     NIVIX -- THE IZZET LEAGUE GUILDHALL

The main entrance of the Izzet League is still guarded by the huge boiling elementals, steam rising from the occasional burst of hot water to their surface. Inside them, the foyer is alive with the sound of the impending holiday. A few Izzet members seem determined to make this holiday, adopted into Ravnica by virtue of the Multiverse, cheery and bright.

Izzet security drones, orbs the size of softballs flit about making noet of the changes. The main elevator has been decorated around its ornate cage with garlands cedar and white pine with red and blue bows at the apex of the loops. Red and blue glass orbs translucently hang in mid-air above the heads of goblins and humans bustling about their daily business.

And in the midst of all the chaos, there's an almost human looking girl. Her softly pointed ears, brown with burnt sienna tips are pricked up, and she has a tail hanging from behind her. She's wearing a blue T-shirt with PROPERTY OF THE IZZET LEAGUE ATHELTICS DEPT. emblazoned on it, with the old leader's draconic likeness, and a pair of kahkhi cargo pants on. Green mana is swirlling around her fingers as she concentrates, creating a bough of holly leaves with bright red berries cradling a box of bright blue pointsettas.
Reker     What a weird place...Reker is wandering through after getting the coordinates from Yunomi as to where to come visit. This whole city is freaky. It's like somebody took ALO and GGO and mashed them together into some weird hybrid. He carefully ducks under one of those patrol orbs and then around one of the elemental guards.

She's right, it's not hard to miss the girl with the pointed ears and tail using magic to decorate. Honestly, from looking around, the gear Reker is wearing probably makes him stick out like a sore thumb, even around here. He moves up behind her and watches her work.
Neva Fernandez     It's been a few days since Neva Fernandez arrived in this version of Ravnica, and she has been on the roam around the Izzet quarter for a while, basically seeing the sights and what was different or the same, and she's already noticed things. Whatever effect this Mega-Plane was having on Ravnica, it's taken its toll for some time now. Things were definitely off, as Rhapsody had said.

Right now, though, she was just sitting and observing one of the more obvious changes was the infiltration of Christmas into Ravnica, and the sight of the Nivix gate being decorated with Christmas cheer was making her feel... Not quite cheerful... Instead, as she sits on a bench watching the things going, she observes Yunomi, and hmmms... "You're not quite Izzet, are you? The Green makes you more Temur than Izzet..."
Yunomi Stadler     'Weird' doesn't properly describe Ravnica.

One of the orbs gives a BLAAAT sound at Reker, turning to flash red and blue, and then continues to scan the great hall.

There is one, with a bit of gold coloring on his its hell, that hangs around Yunomi more closely than the others. At Reker's arrival, it flashes, regarding him suspiciously before Yunomi turns, and gies a bit of a smile to Reker. Who yes, sticks out like a sore thumb in Ravnica.

"Hi!" she greets him, "Yunomi Stadler, Izzet League. Nice to meet your aquaintence." she introduces herself.

And at Neva's observation, Yunomi gives a raise of her eyebrow.

"I'm Izzet enough that Niv-Mizzet offered me a chance to be part of the Firemind."
Reker     "Reker." Replies the man as he looks Yunomi over a bit more, considering her for a second or two, before he turns his attention towards Neva. He personally has no idea what Izzet is other than...Well to him it seems like a faction or team, so that's a good enough comparison for him, "I see you're making this place nice and festive. I like it."
Neva Fernandez     "Festive... Yeah, it kind of is..." Neva says half-heartedly, her eyes drawn back to the tree for a little bit. After a little bit of a loss of focus, she shakes her head, "Well, I suppose Izzet enough is good enough... Still wouldn't mind meeting Niv-Mizzet. I'd have fiugred he'd have interest in meeting a Planeswalker... Most people do when they figure it out."

She hmphs and pushes her glasses up her nose, and before blinking at Reker, and ohhs, "Oh, right, new person. I'm Neva Fernandez, powerful Wizard of the Blue and the Red!" She Even flourishes her cloak as she introduces herself.
Yunomi Stadler     "Thanks~" Yunomi replies cheerily. "The last two years, Niv-Mizzet, the founder of the League, let me decorate the main hall. I'm glad in his absence, the current guildmaster is allowing me to continue." she smiles, and then leans back a moment, and she rubs the back of her head. "I don't think the PArun will be back for a long, long time, Neva. I'm working on trying to get a hold of him. Most of the upper-level Izzet are." she explains to the Planeswalker.

ANd then she gives a wry smile to Reker. "The Izzet, by the way, are one of the twelve major factions in the city of Ravnica. We're the guild of innovation, and --"

There's an explosion from somewhere above. No one in the guildhall stops moving, but Yunomi glances up "... we can be a little explosive."
Reker     The explosion does make Reker move, as his right hand moves to his hip where there's nothing there. He pauses for a second and then lets his hand go into his pocket like he totally meant to do that, "So you guys invent stuff, huh? Neat...I'm not really, uh..That creative, I guess. Though I do know a thing or two about explosives." He looks back at Neva, "Good to meet you too, Neva. Though I have no idea what your fancy title means, don't take it the wrong way."
Neva Fernandez     "For a really... Really long time, huh?" Neva couldn't help but feel that that was something a five year old would be told when their grandfather was going to be asleep for a very long time. More things to distract herself from then... "Welp, if he ever shows up again, I'd jump at the chance to see him." She puts on a cheerful smile. She likes to think she's good at putting on a smile when the part calls for it.

To Reker, she can't help but grin a little more genuinely, as she reaches into her backpack, and pulls out a box, and removes a deck of cards with a specifc back to them, 'Magic the Gathering: Deckmaster'. "It just means I can do red and blue Magic... Let's see...." She then pulls out a card from the deck, "Aha, this island will do..."
Yunomi Stadler     But say the dragon's dead and you'll catch hell. The tanuki always tried her best to remain positive.

Yunomi recognizes the fake smile, and she crosses her arms. "We had an issue with the Eldrazi. Niv fixed it." she states, with a bit of sharpness in her voice to that smile, but she doesn't keep it long. When NEva starts in on the magic, she gets a curious look, and her ears prick forward. "Just careful about what you cast. The drones are a little sensitive at the moment."
Reker "Oh, magic. Okay." Reker says, "I..Don't really have a lot of experience with magic...Never really got into ALO." He says, as he rubs the back of his head with a hand. A glance at Yunomi as she mentions what Niv did. He has a pretty decent idea of what happened. He has a feeling if things had been different for him, somebody would be talking about him the same way somewhere.

"So you can pull your magic from those cards?"
Neva Fernandez     "Eugh... Eldrazi... Say no more." Neva doesn't need it spelled out. She shakes her head a little, "It's fine, I'm not doing anything too major... Just gonna summon a creature as a demo." She holds up the Island card and shows it to the others, "As you can see, this is just your regular old playing card. If you you can feel magic, you'll know this to be true, because the card is just a card." Which is true. The Island Card is just a card.

Neva proceeds set the Island Card onto the bench, and says, "The cards are normal, but they act as a focus for my magic..." She then turns the card to its side, and extends a hand, as blue mana flows through the card and into her open palm. "I've tapped the Island for Blue Mana... And I'm gonna use it... Liiiike so!"

She throws the stream of mana at the ground, creating a shape with it in the glowing mana... Once the energy brightness dies down... A blobby figure of red and blue stands in the middle. "Thus, I've summoned BOB! The Blistercoil Weird! Say hi, Bob!" The Weird waves.
Yunomi Stadler     "Hi, Bob." Yunomi waves a tthe weird, thinking it not unusual in the least to have someone summon a weird.

"I seee, you're one of those deckmasters, like Theo and whats-his-face." she brightens. "Seems that we have a lot of Planeswalkers coming through. THere was one not too long ago that arrived at a museum. Theo met up with her."
Reker "Oh! Okay. That's pretty cool." Reker says, as he watches bob appear out of a bright flash of mana, "Bob, huh?" He can't say he digs the name, but you know, the creature itself seems pretty cool, "I can do something kinda similar, but not quite as...Well, big." He says, as he stands up from where he had been leaning. He swipes his left hand down and his player menu appears in front of him.

After navigating through it for a couple of moments, on his right hip a holster and gun digitize into existance, and a moment later, the same happens with an assault rifle across his back. A few moments after that his clothes shift as well, "Ta da!"
Neva Fernandez     "Ooo, nifty." Neva's eyes widen just a touch at the way Reker does a digital shifting of everything about him. "Was that a menu? Very Sci-fi." She grins takes the Island card back into her hand to shuffle it back into the deck, and box it away. "I -think- I can pull mana without using cards, but right now I can only do that for small tricks, like Bob, or Lightning Bolt. Mmmm, Lightning Bolt." She grins way more enthusastically than one should at the idea.

Her enthusasm dims down a little, as she huhs. "Yeeeeah, that sort of took the air out of the feeling of being Unique... I mean, I'm a planeswalker that uses cards! How rare is that?" She sighs, "Well, still, Planewalkers are pretty rare anyway, according to the lore."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi watches as the game menu opens up, and her eyes light up in understanding. "OH! You're like Kirito!" she points out to Reker, and gives a grin, finally understanding what that was above his head. Works for her!

To Neva, Yunomi's ears flick. "Planeswalkers are rare, and special. Rare enough that Niv Mizzet was the only one I knew of /from/ Ravnica, though I know /of/ four or five, including you. I've worked with Theo in helping the Pan Pacific Defense Corps against Kaiju, you can pull off some /awesome/ stuff." she gives a wry smile.

"I'm not a walker, but I'm from another world... well. I'm from Japan, but in another Earth. Unconnected to Domin... Domon... to the home multiverse with the Blinding Eternities and all that."
Reker "Yeah, Kirito is...Well I guess he's from ALO. I'm from GGO. It's built on a similar platform." Reker replies to Yunomi, as he closes the menu and settles back onto his leaning spot, "So Planeswalkers, you can like...Wander between dimensions?" He asks, "Or does it just mean you like nice open grasslands?" He grins a little bit, "I'm from...Well yeah, the same world as Kirito. We just don't play the same game, is all."

He looks over at Neva and rubs his chin a bit, "You know, I bet you can still do some awesome stuff regardless of if there's other folks around with a similar gimmick. Just gives you more reason to make yourself stand out."
Neva Fernandez     "Dominaria," The young planeswalker answers reflexively. Neva's mood lightens up as she listens to the pep talk, before she nods slowly. Taking a breath, "You're right... I don't need to be the only planeswalker with cards." She smiles brighter now, as she stands up, hopping onto the bench she'd been sitting on, and holds a card up in the air, "I'm an Izzet Deckmaster, And I AM AWESOME!" The card she's holding out appears to be a red and blue dragon.

After a few moments of striking the pose, she hops off the bench, and puts the card away. "Dimension walking people who hop from plane to plane, getting through the Blind Eternities like bosses! And we're awesome."

She finally turns about and flourishes her red/blue cloak, "But enough about me! What about you guys! What's ALO and GGO? Sounds like MMOs."
Yunomi Stadler     Yunomi smiles a bit at the pep talk. "Well, of course you are. You're Izzet, everything Izzet is by default pretty awesome." she replies, adding onto it, and she pauses, and takes a look at the card a moment -- was... was that...?

But Neva puts the card away. And she gives a momentary frown, but brightens again as she returns nto wrk.

"Oh, I'm nothing special. Just a friendly tanuki from Japan sometime in the 1700's." Yunomi replies quietly, turning to use more green mana to bolster up the flowers embeedded in the wall. She's actually making the things grow right out of the wall with her magic.
Reker "You're right, they are MMOs." Reker says, "ALO stands for ALfhiem Online. It's kinda, you know...Fantasy-ish. Faries and swords and magic and stuff. I looked into it, but GGO, which is Gun Gale Online, is much more my speed." He replies, "Kinda sci-fi, post apocolyptic." He pulls out the pistol in his holster, "It uses a mixture of real guns and light guns. The light guns are much more effective on monsters, but players can wear a shield which protects them against the light gun shots. No such protection against bullets."
Neva Fernandez     "Well, It's still a game, so it doesn't really matter that much, does it?" Neva says sort of non-chalantly, as she continues, "Just respawn and get back to the raid boss, you know?" She does pause, "How'd you break your PC out of the game though? Multiverse thing with holograms?"

To Yunomi, she arches an eyebrow, "Tanuki? You mean, like, one of those raccoon things? I guess that explains the ears..." She looks back up at the green mana magickery, and comments, "I wonder if they'll be alright with that much plants showing up in the Izzet areas? What if someone starts a fire... By accident?"

All this while, Bob the Blistercoil weird just sort of stands there, before starting to saunter about in its wobbliness, puffing up some as magic is used around it.
Yunomi Stadler     "Yes, one of those raccoon things known for pouring sand on people to drown them and feeding old ladies to their husbands." Yunomi gives a mischevious grin, and a wink to Reker.

To the other comments, "Then the fire repression systems kick on, and I regrow them. It really isn't too much trouble, unless the whole of the front hall goes up -- which as long as everyone keeps their fireballs, flamethrowers, rings of fire and assorted other pyromancy to themselves shouldn't be a problem..." she begins, and then blinks.

And she turns to Neva. "'They' who? Sidonia, Rhapsody, Ryxinel? Thaniel, Niv-Mizzets soul-twin? Lumia and Tibor?" She questions, and the little Izzet drone lands on her shoulder.

"I'm not sure if the Ravnica you were in before was one that was unified or not, but Niv-Mizzet watched me grow up. He was like an uncle to me."
Reker "Actually it's...Well, GGO and ALO are VRMMOs. Right now I'm actually laying in a bed somewhere else in a coma-like state with this weird looking visor on my head." Reker says, as he makes a motion to his eyes, "And...Yeah, in GGO when you die you get to go back to respawn, but there was a game a while back...If you died in the game it fried your brain in the real world." He says, "I...Wasn't a part of that one, but I came very close to being wrapped up in it."

"As for how I'm out and about..It's something called Wander Mode. I have no idea how it works and really should ask Kirito, but it lets me take my digital avatar out of the game and into the Multiverse proper. It's pretty awesome, if you ask me. Lets me really get back out there and do some good."
Neva Fernandez     "Well... They... As in..." Neva just noncommitally waves her hands around to gesture to the place in general. "A non-committal generalized anybody...? That's pretty awesome though." Where'd that come from?

then to Reker, Neva arches an eyebrow and cringes, "What--Who--Who makes a game that -does- that? That's just... If you're making a game that requires people to plug their brains into it, I would think the first logical thing to do is make sure the thing is safe! That's like... Uber-dumb..."
Yunomi Stadler     "Now, areyou saying it because you're not sure about an Izzet member wearing normal, modern clothing using green mana in the middle of Nivix?" Yunomi inquires, though there's a friendly note to the voice... but to Reker, she rubs the back of her head. "That's happened before. In another VRMMO, people's conciousnesses were trapped in the game. Over time, some deteriorated... but I'm not an expert on the technology. There's people who died outside of the game, but lived on in the servers."
Reker "I..Don't think that happened with SAO, but still...Weird.." Reker says, though he looks back to Neva, "Oh no, no no. The guy who designed the thing did it on purpose, I think. Like the game was designed to trap everybody there and kill them if they died for real. He wanted people to, you know...Live in the world he had created, instead of just treating it like a game. Eat, sleep, work, have families, that sort of thing." He shrugs, "I think he was a whackjob too. So you and I agree on that one."

He looks himself over for a couple of moments, "The new tech is safe though. Doesn't interface with the brain the same way, so there's no way to kill somebody through a VR headset anymore."
Neva Fernandez     "That's just..." Neva shakes her head a bit, "I'm not sure I can wrap my brain too much around that... It hurts thinking about... But yeah, I should hope the game you're in is safer, because I definitely wouldn't wanna plug my brain in that... I'll stick to Magic, thank you."

Back to Yunomi, Neva lets out a non-committal 'Eh'. "I guess it's not that big of a deal... Splashing Green into the mix does allow for the bigger, stompier monsters and mana ramp."

Neva then pauses and rubs her head, "Mmph, I really haven't played Magic in a while... I hadn't been home in a long time, it's not like they have the game in Innistrad, or Mirrodin, or Ravnica..."
Yunomi Stadler     "You're using game mechanics, aren't you? Theo does that, sometimes. So did his friend." Yunomi rubs the back of her head. "We don't talk like that, at least I've not heard people talk like that. Niv didn't. But maybe after almost a decade in the Multiverse, things change. Ravnica even has rock bands now." Yunomi rubs her shoulder a moment. "There's even a /tanuki/ who gets respect from /The Simic/ and fufills order for quick-growing mana vines to transfer mana in a more naturally-harmonizing way as a way to replace the garrish power lines seen elsewhere." she teases lightly, reaches into her pocket, and then offers a stick of gum to Neva from a slightly smooshed packet.

"And Reker, I haven't forgotten you -- who do you have for Secret Santa? I promise not to tell, but I might be able to give some advice."
Reker Reker ohs! "Right, the whole reason I came out here." He says, as he grins a little bit, "It's, uh. Yuna Kagurazaka." He says, as he references his in-game mail for a second, "Yeah. I hope I pronounced that right. Live in Japan for years and still have trouble saying Japanese names. Go figure."

He looks at Neva for a second, "You could always come check GGO out. There's a little fee to get started if you buy it outright but I'm sure I could score some 'invite a friend' codes."
Neva Fernandez     Neva shakes her head a bit at the offer, "Thanks, but I'd rather keep that out of my brain... Besides, I haven't touched an MMO in a while, since I left my laptop at home..." She idles on that sentence, before shaking her head.

To Yunomi, she sits back in the bench and replies, "Well, I talk in mechanics because that's what I know. Plus that's the only way I -can- use the magic.. I can't just draw the mana about like you can, I have to actually use the cards as a focus. On top of that, it becomes something of a ritual to actually... Well, fight... Draw seven, see who goes first, pass or play, and wait my turn... Draw a card, play mana, cast any creatures, and then pass turn."

Ooo, gum! Neva takes, "Thanks." She says with a smile, before popping it into her mouth to chew.
Yunomi Stadler     "OH! That's easy! Yuna and I have been friends for years!" Yunomi replies, "Us out-of-place Japanese girls need to stick together, ne? Anno... let's see. Yuna loves music. She's an idol back home, but she loves all types of music." she offers the gum to Reker, curious to see if he can utilize it. "Get her a music box, or a mix-tape of music of your world. I'm pretty sure she'd be thrilled."

Yunomi gives a small grin to Neva, and rubs the back of her head. "Maybe someday you'll be able to just draw on the mana rather than using a focus. I'm pretty unique; I'm one of the few from outside Ravnica who has inter-guild respect, but I was able to use magic in a very similar way in my homeworld." she explains.
Reker Reker takes the offered stick of gum and looks at it for a couple of seconds, "I have no idea if I can chew this or not." He says, before he unwraps it and pops it into his mouth, "Oh hey, I can. Neat. Thanks, Yunomi." He says, as he chews the gum a bit, and hmms, "Mix tape of music? Oh. Yeah I can totally do that...I've got lots of classics that I can put together for her.."

He actually likes the idea, "That's an awesome suggestion. Everybody likes music. Well except for those guys who banned dancing in that one town." He might be joking. Or referencing something. Probably the latter, knowing him.
Yunomi Stadler     "You'll find that we're pretty footloose here." Yunomi comments lightly with a grin. Then the drone at her side gives a soft bllliiiizzzt sound, and she glances up, then down to the drone.

"Ah, please pardon me -- we have a bit of a situation up in the spire."
