Reker TEN MINUTES AGO
Gun Gale Online, the most popular VRMMOFPS in the world right now. Deep inside of the damaged Earth, Reker is currently driving his LTV down a blasted desert road. He whips the vehicle around between two buildings, and as he drives between them, finds himself coming to a dead stop in front of something. What that something is, he's not sure. He's never seen anything like it in the game before, but the shimmering, swirling distortion in the game world is something he's not sure about. Could this be a new event they haven't told anyone about yet? It looks kind of like a portal..The vehicle won't fit in it, though He hops out of the vehicle and despawns it, before he heads towards the portal and vanishes inside of it.

RIGHT NOW

London, England. He can tell because he sees Big Ben in the distance. The scene is one of chaos. A car is on fire nearby, people are screaming and running around and there's some sort of strange aliens running around attacking civilians. Reker blasts one of the strange alien creatures right before it gets to the lady who was cowering behind a flower planter. He motions for her to get away from the area, and then slides over the planter, reloading his SOCOM-47 as he goes, "This is a weird event." He says to nobody in particular. These creatures aren't like anything he's seen in the game before, and he's not sure why he's in a modern city when the game is supposed to be set in the far future.
Karian Icefang     A terror mission always calls forth those who'se duty it was to route out aliens. Those are the Space Marines aligned with the XCOM project. Landing nearby, Karian and his Thunderwolf Ygdril (Who happens to be the size of a Rhino) quickly survey the scene. Moving in with the iron will and steely fury he and his brothers possess, KArian clashes with the xenos. Needless to say, it doesn't go well for the initian Xenos. Of course, he spots Reker right away. "Strange dress for someone responding to the xenos threat." He calls out.
Elise Leroy 20 MINUTES AGO

Alert klaxons sound throughout XCOM HQ. The Geoscape is an angry red with a pulsing alert over London, England. "Central Officer, Alien Battleship-class signature detected over London. Multiple reports coming in of aliens in the streets. Looks like they're trying to terrorize the population. Orders sir?" calls one of the commtechs.

Bradford is impassive for a moment, leaning on the railing in front of him. "Contact the English military. We'll send in a Strike Team while they evacuate the civilians and Royal Family." he then touches the transmit button on his headset. "Strike Four, assemble in Launch Bay. Suit up and board ASAP. You are moving out in five minutes. Repeat, Strike Four to Launch Bay. Dispatch in Five Minutes." his voice resonates over the Base PA system, and six figures charge across Mission Control to the Launch Bay, in various states of applying armour.

    5 MINUTES AFTER RECKER'S ARRIVAL

The Skyranger roars overhead, a giant flying brick of a craft. It lands alongside the Thunderhawk and spews out the six members of Strike Four. This is made up of Major Paolo 'Nova' Lazarro, a Heavy. Sergeant Kumiko 'Lights Out' Nishimura another Heavy. Lieutenant Mona 'Rhino' Karlsen, an Assault, Sergeant William 'Pops' Lee and Sergeant Anna 'Pixie' Zaytseva, both Supports, along with Eliana 'Nightmare' Friedman a Sniper.

The group spread out, check their sectors, while Eliana tosses a Battle Scanner into the air, the tiny drone beginning to sweep around the area. Bradford chimes in over comms. "Strike Four, and any Elite presense in the area. Your job it to keep the area clear while local forces evacuate VIPs from Parliment and the Palace. Recon Sat Charlie is on location, and we can see multiple pockets of alien signatures closing on your location. Intermittant signals closing fast, looks like you have Chryssalids inbound. Estimate two minutes to contact."
Mikase Yamato     There's the sudden and distinctive sound of a Sikorski SH-3 Seaking helicopter over the skyline of London. Erupting from amidst the buildings and soaring over the Themes is a blue and white helicopter with the number 119 and a large, cartoonish goldfish emblazoned on the side. As soon as it's in open air, green plasma fire lances towards it from shore, which the pilot narrowly evades in a maneuver that also brings the vehicle closer to the river.

The side door slides open. Behind it is a black-haired girl in a school uniform and windbreaker. Cabin light obscures her features, but the gold embroidery on her shoulder patch is easy to make out: '1st Fleet Midway - IJN YAMATO'

The girl leaps from the helicopter, which promptly ascends to avoid another shot. As she drops, the girl's body is wrapped in bright light of her own and, by the time she hits the water, she impacts it as if it were solid ground. The light fades, revealing the uniform exchanged for the haori and hakama of a samurai, complete with armor. Metal forms across her shoulders, and lastly, at the ends of the yoke, enormous pads form which become the basis for those distinctive three-gun turrets.

"Circle at 200 meters for now--" she barks into her radio, even as her turrets swivel up. Plasma shots slam into an unseen shield, creating glass-like cracks in front of her.

Fleet Maiden Yamato returns fire on the aliens on the riverfront who had chosen her as their target.

Basically all of London can hear it.
Kirito     Kirito is not a member of XCOM. he's only barely heard of them. But he was on patrol, and picked up some really weird stuff on the airwaves. Screams and lots of activity on what the Union considers common police frequencies...

The smoke on the horizon was also pretty telling.

This day, London might tell tales of a fairy warrior swooping through the early evening skies, two sets of black translucent wings glittering and shimmering and casting off short-lived motes of light. Thoug this fairy is human-sized, dressed in all black - including a billowing longcoat - and bears twin swords in sheaths strapped crossedly over his back. The boy does have long ears, but aside that and the wings he's completely human.

Or seems that way, until he comes swooping down at high speed--

    "Uooooooooooooaaaahhhhhh!!!"

... and down onto a street and upon a Sectoid hiding behind a smoldering car. His blades are out in a hurry, going for the creature's neck moments before it can open fire on some running civilians.

Kirito leaves the mutilated creature to rot, hops up onto the steaming hulk of metal for a better vantage point... and immediately relief shows in his eyes. "Karian!? You picked up on the trouble?"

He similarly spots Reker, and eyes the gunman rather seriously. All until... "What?"

To Kirito's sight at least, there's a blue spinning icon above Reker's head and a thin white bar wrapped halfway around his left shoulder... "A player indicator and HP meter?" The Spriggan can only gape. What the heck?

Kirito, well, his is green and more diamond shaped, and the HP gauge is also green, but otherwise very similiar. If Reker focuses as he normally would to check a player, NPC, or monster status...

Kirito's the only person around here who has one.

    UNtil Tomoe arrives, anyways.
Tomoe Tomoe was not part of XCOM eiuther she was aware of what was going on but they tened to have help and she wasn't sure how much use she'd be other than well a face trap checker either way she's coming in hot on Kirito's heels and she swoops in upon another Sectoid, normally Tomoe shows a lot of restraint even against Fed grunts, these things another Sectoid joins the one kitiro took down this time bisectd by a sword skill.

"...All right let's deal with this...wait?! Kirito?! That gear it looks like ... GGO?!"
Reker The arrival of Karian and his giant space wolf mount makes Reker take pause. He's not sure if Karian is an NPC or not at this point, "Yeah, I dunno bro. I just stumbled into this event and here I am." He says. He turns his attention to his left side, right hand coming down to draw his handgun as he double taps a Thin Man who had been trying to come up on his side, "And you're one to talk about weird get ups.." Though the sudden arrival of the XCOM team and Yamato (and those huge turrets) pulls his attention away, "What in the hell..?"

Okay yeah, this ain't no event. This doesn't even start to make sense even in the canon of Gun Gale Online. That's when Kirito shows up. He peers at Kirito as Kirito peers at him. Sure he's never played ALO, but he's aware enough of other games to recognize that as a Spriggan avatar, "Okay what the hell." He can absolutely see Kirito's player icon and HP bar, "This ain't an event, is it?" He asks the other VRMMO player, straight up. He turns his attention to Tomoe too, spotting her player status as well, "You know what? We'll sort this out after those things are dealt with. For now, lets put them in the ground!"
Karian Icefang     "Welcome to the Multiverse." Karian says rather bluntly. The massive wolf bounds forward, leaps over Reker, and mauls a sectoid that tried to take him out. "Stick close to us." Then, he looks over to Kirito. "Aye. More along the likes that I'm part of the group XCOM. It made sense, as they are similar in goal to the Deathwatch I once was part of." Then, he hears the other XCOM operatives arrive. "This is Karian Icefang, AKA Chaplain. We hear you and will meet you at Parliment. I'm routing some of my brothers over to provide support in your advance. Stay in contact." He says. Without a word, three of his fellow marines break off and make their way. "We're moving to Parliment. There are trapped civilians there. Kirito, can you fly up and provide us with scouting information? Tomoe, soldier, and Yamato, clear a path to the Skyranger for us, if possible."
Elise Leroy     Nova makes hand gestures, deploying his team to cover approaches. "Elites. With all due respect, cut the chatter. We've got bugs coming in fast, do NOT engage them at melee unless you're equipped for it, they're deadly at that range. Take them out at range. Also, keep an eye out for shambling civilians. If you see one in the midst of aliens, out in the open and not being shot. Kill it." he says, before turning and leveling his LMG down a street, spraying bullets across a group of Sectoids and a Muton, forcing them into cover.

Yamato's guns get a blink out of Lights Out, and the japanese over broadband makes her pause. "Y-Yamato?" the young japanese woman looks confused, then huffs. "Major!" she whines softly. "That girl's got bigger guns than I do!" she complains, but pulls her Launcher into position, taking a knee and unleashing explosive hell into a suddenly emerging trio of Chryssalids.

Nightmare climbs a fire escape, getting onto a roof for a better vantage point. "Strike Four Actual, spotted incoming big group. Mutons, Thin Men and some of those floating discs. Engaging." she notes, the report of her rifle paling in comparison to Yamato's girls, but still resonating across the city.

The remaining members take up defensive positions, as Royal Guardsmen, discarding their big fluffy hats, along with regular military units stationed around Parliment and the Palace move to evacuate the Officials and Royals who are in residence.

"This is Captain *static* Palace Guard. We're pinned down in the main courtyard." automatic fire. "We need backup, we have the Duke and Dutchess along with their son." the feed cuts out after a resonant bleeping, and a large explosion cut the line.
Kirito     "It's not!" is Kirito's first words to Reker. "It's a real alien invasion in a real London. Lives are at stake here--" And with the Skyranger coming in, Kirito focuses skywards on it. His eyes glaze over as though he were speaking on the telephone, and he ends up responding to something people without a radio can't hear:

"Got it! UEF Reserve Lieutenant Kirito on-site, with two friends and an unknown... friendly. Clear aliens and protect the evacuation."

He's not military but he's heard enough chatter to stay to the point.

The Spriggan sighs. His blade is bloody. He hates seeing blood on his blade, but he'll just clamp down on the urge to clean it for now. Besides a quick twirl to cast most of it onto the pavement, anyways. "Not sure what a Chrysallid is but the name doesn't fill me with hope. --wait, GGO?!"

Kirito barks out in a startled voice at Tomoe, blinks a few times, takes another look at Reker... then At Tomoe... "...is GGO the one you've been playing- well, now's not the time to worry. Better not tell me that your weapon arm's gotten rusty while playing over there." He jests, of course.

Now that he's landed, Kirito banishes his wings, then leaps backwards to take up a spot near Reker.

    "It's about to get worse."
Mikase Yamato     "Understood," Yamato nods briefly as she hauls herself out of the river and onto the dockside. The ends of her main battery still trail gunsmoke, and the inner workings of the turrets click and hiss as they lower their elevations and reload. After a moment, the guns raise again, one by one, still aimed forward.

"Our target is Parliment. I will do my best to cover with artillery support while the swifter fighters move in." Her posture shifts, the right turret swinging to the right while the left swings opposite, towards the parliment building further down. A third turret swivels up from behind her, its distinctive 46cm guns previously aimed downward and now raised alongside the left. At her hip, the smaller 15cm turret also elevates its guns.

Seconds after Lights Out dishes some explosive pain to chryssalids, Yamato's guns open fire again, surrounding the girl with gunsmoke. Heavy, high explosive shells are hurled down the street, staggered. Her job is to clear the way. Though once she's opened fire, the question suddenly becomes: Who's causing the most damage, here? The aliens of the Fleet Maiden?

Well she's making life difficult for any surviving Chryssalids and making cover hazardous for Mutons so it's probably okay.
Tomoe Tomoe l:looks at the GGO player wait it's the grifer huner she met the otehr night she choses to keep her ahem two bits seperte for the moment as she's more focued on just what's going on here.

"I suggest we worry about this later, yes!"

She does take note of Karian and h;'s help's weclome really he's quite teh wrecking ball after all.

"...bugs?"

She doesn't like the sound of this at all she readies her blade and looks about.

"Hummm? Your getting seinle in your young age Kirito!"

is the retort he gets back as she moves to fall in with Reker and Kirito she seems to be making ready with a spell. or reay to cast one.
Reker     Okay, not an event. Something about the Multiverse. Lots of real aliens in London threatening real people. He has no idea how this happened, but you know, now's not the time to question it. Kirito has wings, so he won't need a ride. Reker doesn't have wings, so he'll need to break out something to give him the speed he needs to get to Parlament. He swipes open his menu and hits a button, stepping to the side as his Light Tactical Vehicle spawns into being, "Well at least that still works." He mutters to himself as he jumps behind the wheel of it. Vehicles are kind of rare in GGO because a lot of people don't drive.

Settling in behind the wheel, he takes a second to check the status on the vehicle before he slams on the gas and heads towards where the guards are pinned down with the Duke and Dutchess. He knows he can get them out of there with his vehicle if he can make it. He has room for a gunner if Kirito or Tomoe wants to jump on the turret. They'll have to fly to catchup with him though. He has to make sure he gets there in time to save the royals. He knows that they don't really do anything but national symbols still need to be protected. Last thing he wants is to have the future King of England die on his watch.
Karian Icefang     Karian nods to the others and takes off running. For a guy in extreme heavy armor, he was pretty fast. Any enemy in his way either met the thunderwolves teeth and claws, or met a bolter shell. "It always gets bad...All we can do is save as many as we can.." He says softly, a bit of unhappiness in his voice.
Elise Leroy     Nova keeps his barrage up. "Four-Four, nail that sonovabitch!" he roars over the sound of his gun. The sniper doesn't hesitate as the Muton makes to return fire. The creature's head explodes the instant it pops out of cover. "X-Ray down." she notes calmly. Pops and Pixie are moving, shifting from cover to cover to get to the pinned guards. "Captain, this is XCOM Strike Four-2, callsign Pixie. We're coming to you now, just hold on a little longer." she calls back, taking potshots at the Mutons and Cyberdisc crowded around the courtyard. The Disc is in Assault form, until the armoured hull starts taking hits, it then 'tucks tail' and turns back into the discshaped Sentinel form, before turning and running a glowing orange 'scanner' across the incoming group.

Yamato's bombardment gets a distressed whine out of Lights Out, who turns and pouts for a moment at the Maiden, though she's not long distracted as the roar of a Chryssalid draws her back around. Perhaps due to sentiment, or perhaps a sense of honour, the woman carries a Katana at her hip, strapped to her equipment belt by the traditional ties. She grips the blade as the bug bears down on her, then takes a step forward and flashes the weapon out, severing the beast at the connection of its upper body and lower body. The monster falls in two pieces, twitching and writhing before going still. "Sakuhin-chu de kyusoku." (Rest in Pieces) She flicks the blade to clean the ichor from it, then returns it to the sheath.

Karian and the others find that large force of Mutons and Cyberdiscs in their way. There's perhaps 12 Mutons and a backup of Four Cyberdiscs. As Reker's engine guns, the Discs turn and transform, leveling their blasters on the vehicle. The Mutons scatter into cover, bringing heavy Plasma to bear as well at the approaching Elites.
Karian Icefang     Karian narrows his eyes at the Mutons and....does something ballsy. He straight out CHARGES one of them. Be it his being bat-shit crazy or something like that, he shoulder tackles the nearest Muton and engages it in melee. "Shoot the others! This one is mine!" It may also be noticible that he was acting much like a territorial wolf.
Kirito     With Reker taking this so incredibly and immediately seriously, Kirito's left gaping slightly. But the Black Swordsman's alert mind is already thinking on a dozen things that might explain the new player's mentality - military or police training definitely at the forefront of it all. "The only problem with that is I don't know where we need to be!" So he'll have to follow the guy who... seems to maybe know. And all the others.

    Sorry, Karian.

Kirito waits until the Mutons start aiming once he spots them... and the moment they go to do so?

    BARREL ROLL TIME.

Kirito swoops and rolls upward in a corkscrew motion, allowing him to pierce through the hail of fire by putting EVERYTHING he's got into his wings.

The nearest Muton's in for a surprise as Kirito swoops in, skids over the pavement, DUCKS beneath the creature's reflexive punch--

    And begins a Sword Skill.

    *KRZEEEEEEEEEEM!*

The black longsword erupts with shining flame and lashes out in a high-speed splashing thrust assault, followed by several powerful slashes and a final LEAP slash - one that triggers an eruption of flame from the ground up that'll leave the alien scorched right through... if not bisected.
Mikase Yamato     Guns smoking, Yamato shifts her posture and sweeps her guns back to their idle position. Like this, she can move more easily, advancing more slowly in the path of Reker's ATV. Of course she can't match the Hum-vee's speed, not on land, but her proposal was to provide long range fire support from the start.

Her main battery on her shoulders swivels forward again, the barrels slowly elevating, though not opening fire just yet. What does open up are the secondary and tertiary batteries. The 15.5cm guns on her hips, the 20cm guns on her shoulders amidst the massive main battery, and the assorted 20mm and 30mm anti-aircraft guns all open fire. Each turret selects its own target, some focusing on the same as others.

It seems like Yamato's entire approach is 'Forget about them, I'm the real threat', forgoing cover in lieu of her Barrier Armor and shooting at anything that moves and isn't human--or already on her side.

Following several reports of smoke and fire from her secondary and tertiary batteries, the main battery suddenly opens up as if punctuating the barrage. These, aimed forward, target the tightest clusters of in-cover Mutons she can locate with her surface radar. Even if she doesn't kill or injure them, she can eliminate what they're hiding behind.
Tomoe Tomoe normally would be charging into things but well Reker needs a gunner right and she can also get a load closer to the enemy as well catching a ride with him. She flies at a fiarly high speed now catching up to the up she takes a oment to keep pace and get into the turret. Okay so she doesn't exactly know how to properly do this but she's going to take a crack at it. She grips the controls does some obiovus checks to make sure there's nothing like a safey needint ot be flipped off and then she's going to try to gun down the first X ray she spots, she's at least got some sense to try to lead if the target is moving.

"...I really don't like these things."
Reker     Fire rains down on Reker's vehicle as the Cyberdisks start to attack it. It can take a few hits, though. He decides that now would be a good time to do something stupid. Especially once Tomoe is in the turret, which has armor of it's own so she has a bit of cover from the cyberdisk fire. Reker opens up his inventory menu inside of the vehicle and swaps weapons, and then jerks the wheel to the side and sends the vehicle into a powerslide. As the back of the vehicle starts to slide around, Reker opens the door and jumps out.

He rolls when he hits the ground, and comes up to a knee, leveling his MGL at one of the cyberdisks that had been targeting his truck, sending an armor penetrating high explosive grenade sailing right at it, before turning his attention to a second one. Combined with Tomoe's sustained machine gun fire, this should hopefully put them down.
Elise Leroy     Pixie and Pops duck behind statues and other pieces of cover as the Mutons and Cyberdisc turn their attention to them. Rhino is nowhere to be seen through all this... until she leaps out from over the Courtyard wall, and on top of the Cyberdisc, jamming her shotgun through one of the openings and unloading Reaper Pellets into the insides. The thing jerks and twitches as a high pitched whine begins to sound from the thing. Rhino leaps off and rolls away, before the Cyberdisc detonates, taking out a muton and a good portion of the guard wall.

Nova keeps his Sectoids pinned, until a Seeker decloaks and attempts to snare him. Nightmare nails it, then turns and jams her knife through the optics of another one that appears behind her. "Neit comrade. Ne segodnya." Lights Out falls in with Yamato, providing bursts from her LMG to supplement the Maiden's firepower.

Karian gets into an Epic Duel with his Muton. The beast pulling some kind of massive maul from the mag-clamp on its armour and crossing weapons with the Space Marine. Reker's gambit pays off, the grenades lodging into the delicate exposed electronics of the Cyberdiscs as they're in Assault mode. The grenades detonate, and whatever powers the machines detonates in sympathy, joining the conflagration from Yamato's long range bombardment. Kirito barbeques a Muton, and the rest, overwhelmed, begin to fall back, firing potshots in their wake.
Karian Icefang     Karian spies the maul and simply laughs. "Just give up. You can't win." He taunts the muton. He brings his blade up, aiming to slice into the poor muton's head.
Kirito     With aliens shooting at him, Kirito executes a stunning backflip that's assisted mid-leap by wings. While flying BACKWARDS it's easy enough for him to dodge the few potshots coming at him - this is way easier than SPELLS, which tend to HOME in on home and need to be parried with a Sword Skill to be stopped...

Compared to evading a horde of fireballs, a few plasma bolts is nothing!

And it helps that he can take cover behind Reker's vehicle.

"That's a lot of fire!" Kirito's just now understanding how difficult it is to deal with ranged attacks of new sorts, despite the easy dodge. He has to get up close and expose himself to others for each Sword Skill, and has a few burn marks on his sides that are quickly healing away from the damage decal to how it....
Mikase Yamato     Crouching behind a battleship. There are worse ways to take cover. Hissing green plasma rounds splatter against the unseen shield surrounding the fleet maiden as she advances, creating visible cracks in the otherwise-invisible surface. Some widen. Others, not focused on, begin to close and disappear.

Glancing over her shoulder, the Maiden comments, "Wise move."

Looking forward once more, she sweeps her main battery backward. The shift in the barrels exposes more of her secondary, tertiary, and AAA batteries to focus their fire forward. Better suited than the main battery for lightly armored targets, she figures this is the best choice for now. And also less prone to cause property damage.

     ...
    MORE property damage.
Tomoe Tomoe she really doesn't like these things she could say she hated them for now she's srticking to being a gunner likely a half assed one but it's better than not having a gunner at all right?? She turns her weapon upon the eney again laying down more fire hoping to keep pressure up on the enemy.
Reker     With their assault on Parlement broken, the remaining aliens scatter under the withering fire (and swordplay) of the gathered heroes. The Duke and Dutchess and their son are saved, casualties are kept to a minimum. Some of the aliens escape, but at this point XCOM will have to step in to clean everything up.

After the battle is over, Reker finds himself next to his LTV, checking the damage done to it by the cyberdisk, "At least when I respawn it this'll all go away." He glances up at Tomoe, "Nice shootin', Tex. I think you actually hit 'em a few times. Never fired the good 'ol M2, have you? That's alright."

Now he turns around to try to find Kirito. He has a whole lot of questions and figures that guy would be the best one to ask. Though whether they should do it in a war-torn London street is up to Kirito.
Karian Icefang     Karian walks away from the dead Muton, carrying it's Maul as a trophy. He makes his way over to Kirito, offerng a fist-bump to him. "Well fought." He says. As Reker comes near, he'll find that large thunderwolf considering him, baring it's fangs in a matter clearly showing as defensive.
Kirito     ONce all the aliens were seemingly dealt with, Kirito took a few moments to clean his long sword. He doesn't like using it to end lives - be they zombie, alien, whatever. Only in defnse of another does it get like that, and it takes a hefty toll on his mind. He's losing track of the amount of nameless, faceless monsters that he's cleaved outside of a game...

"Oho?" Karian wandering over gets his attention though, and the much MUCH shorter Kirito returns the fistbump with full enthusiasm! "You too. Couldn't hope for too mcuh better with circumstances like this..."

Though mid-conversation, witht he Thunderwolf getting antsy, Kirito blurts, "E-easy, that's a friend!" He thinks. He hopes.

Kirito suddenly executes a few flourishy slashes at the air and sheathes his sword across his back with a stylish *SHNKT*

Tomoe's definitely more than familiar with that habit by now. He's done it ever since they met in Sword Art Online...

SO his gaze falls across Reker. "For someone who came right out of a VRMMO and into a warzone, you handled that really well. My name's Kirito, this is Karian," He clops Karian on the arm - armor, really...

"And this is Tomoe." He nods her way.
Tomoe Tomoe makes a face in reply.

"Do I look like that's how I fight normally."

She's just teasing for the most part and she's looking over at Kirito and she now gets out of the ifv now that everything is over. She's also tall she's like six foot two not counting the heels on her boots. She seems in a decent mood now that things are over and she looks to Kirito and nods she still tries to go for her sword in her real form agter all so she thinks nothing of it.

"Yes there's something that's not commonly known about them and you seem to have found that some people? Can walk out of the game like you have, or we have."
Mikase Yamato     Leaving XCOM to sweep things up, with the bulk of the problem resolved, Yamato's guns all return to their standard fitting and elevations. "I have my own guns, I don't think she'd take too kindly to me using someone else's." There's a flicker of light, shimmering over the steel armor of her turrets, before the entire assembly disappears.

All that remains is an abnormally tall Japanese girl in a school uniform and a windbreaker, the embroidery of her shoulder patch reading '1st Fleet Midway - IJN Yamato'

    "Nice to meet you, though."
Reker "Whoa there, easy Rex." Reker says to the big wolf as it growls at him, "I'm a friendly."

Turning to Kirito, he shakes his head a bit, "Ain't my first time in a warzone." Reker replies, as he looks him over a little bit, "Though I would kind of like to know why I am in a warzone to begin with." Tomoe gives him a bit of an answer, "Walked out of the game? Is that what that weird portal thing was?" Finally he looks to Yamato, "Good to meet you too. I suppose I should properly introduce myself. Name's Reker."
Karian Icefang     Karian nods towards Reker, placing a hand on his wolf to settle him down. Those fangs are hidden, and the huge creature moves to launch investigatory sniffs on Reker, only to judge him ok and walks back, and gives Kirito face-licks in greeting. "Aye. Space Marine and Commander of a company of the Emperor's finest warriors. A pleasure. The wolf is Ygdril. My friend, companion, and in some cases my steed."
Mikase Yamato     "Yamato Mikase," the girl introduces herself with a bow of her head, "With the First Fleet out of Midway." She glances at Kirito and Tomoe, having caught up that there's some connection between the three, even if she's not sure quite what it is. Instead, she turns slightly to take a look at the ruined street and building faces, "...Caused a bit of a mess, here..."

It's unclear just who she's accusing of causing said mess.
Kirito     With Yamato walking in, Kirito gives her a smile. A somewhat mischevious smile, but it's more than friendly enough!

THen Ygdril is upon him, and the Black Swordsman ends up petting Ygdril somewhat roughly after his initial laughter. "Down boy! I know, it's been a while--hmgh..."

Once he's managed to dislodge Ygdril he focuses attention on Reker. "Your guess is as good as anyone's. Tomoe has it. Through some quirk of the Multiverse, data can be physical from our world.... if there's a dimensional distortion avatars from VRMMOs can leave it. That was squashed as a rumor from Sugou's big FullDive research package but it's actually true."

Yes, when RCT Progress was sued following the ALO incident, Sugou did upload all kidns of forbidden research into the public domain. A lot of damage control had to go into action and some data was publically disputed or just not believed... sometimes by scientists, sometimes by governments.

    Publically, that is.

"You got unlucky and wandered into a rift of some kind?" Kirito postulates, eyes on Reker.
Reker "I guess you could call it unlucky. I was drivin' along a ways outside of the Glocken and I came across a rift in an alleyway. Figured it was some kind of event so I went on into it and, you know, here we are." Reker says, with a bit of a grin, "But hey, it ain't so bad right? So this Multiverse thing...It's a bunch of folks like you goin' around fighting aliens and monsters and stuff? I'm sure it's more complicated than that, though."

He considers for a second, "So how do I get back to the game, anyway?" He wonders, "I hadn't thought that part through.." He assumes there must be some way to do it, unless he's stuck wandering the Multiverse in his avatar forever.
Tomoe Tomoe says "Every story, every myth is true somewhere but often not in the wy yout hink. Err thats humm a quetion We'd not have anyone wander out of that game before it's mostly been two others that did such."

She's not bringing up the SAO stuff oh hell no she's not.
Kirito     "It's not so bad, no. And don't worry - if nothing else, if you log out and wait for the soulless avatar to vanish, it'll take you back." Shirou assures Reker. "That's how it's been working with Alfheim Online, anyways. It should be the same for.... are you from GGO?" He now aims a somewhat perplexed, even SUSPICIOUS look at Tomoe..
Reker "Yeah." Replies Reker, as he looks at himself, "And you two are from ALfheim. Haven't played it but the art style is kinda recognizable if you watch MMO Stream at all." He looks over both of them for a few moments, "So I can wander around this Multiverse in my avatar, huh? Good deal. Digital bullets sure seem to have worked against those alien weirdos back there." He jerks a thumb over his shoulder.
Karian Icefang     "What is GGO, exactly?" Karian asks. He looked over Reker, his initial assumptions telling him that it possibly was like ALO, but with a more modern weaponry system...something up his alley.
Tomoe Tomoe shrugs at Kirito.

"I read MMO Tommrow you know and other sites I keep up on what games are ou there. GGO's got a very distinct vibe and design style to it." She notes and she looks to Reker and then to Kirito.

"Ya...it's kinda creepy in that way really."
Kirito     "GGO. Gun Gale Online. It's where the pro players who like sci-fi hang out! Not like Alfheim Online, which is fantasy." Kirito explains for Karian, then... he nods at Reker. "Right. Spriggan, in my case. Tomoe's a Salamander-- er... good deal? I should tell you, not many people can do what you're doing here! And the last thing we need is VRMMO avatars walking down the streets of our world... what will you be doing?"
Karian Icefang     Karian nods towards Kirito. "Sounds like I'd fit right in...I'm also guessing there's more emphasis on guns then melee. For the record, I also play a Salamander in ALO. I just leave my avatar in the game."
Reker "Yeah..He pretty much hit the nail on the head." Reker replies, looking back at Karian, "Well if you play ALO maybe you could convert over. Or just make a new account, I suppose." He glances back at Kirito, "What will I be doing? I dunno. I kinda liked getting to help rescue the future King of England from aliens. Got anything else like that lined up that I could help with?"
Karian Icefang     "There's alot, really. You'd be welcome in XCOM, and I imagine the Union could use the help too." Karian says, looking over to Kirito. "I'd offer you to take on some missions with me as well......though I don't know if you'd like them. I come from a place that makes these aliens look like children's toys."
Tomoe Tomoe says "There's far too much like that going on to be honest but yes they would likely welcome the help."

She muses a bit nore but seems to be very much thinking at this point.

"It's a lot in the spirit of an old space game from before either of us were born. Things got vicous seriously like as in finding out where enemy ship captians live and cutting thier power in major battles.
Kirito     Kirito's baffled by Reker's gung-ho attitude towrds this. Not at all what he was expecting... and his wide-eyedness is pretty obvious. But he recovers, planting a hand on his hip.

"... you're not bothered at all by running into real combat zones?" The black swordsman falls silent for a few seconds, then asks, "... If you're serious, I'd suggest the Union. That's the military I'm with and several of the rest of us. Defending worlds from threats like this is high on its list of priorities and if you can walk around like this, you're way above average. ...wait a moment, you're already used to real combat...."
Reker "One step at a time, big guy." Replies Reker, as he grins at Karian, "Most of the monsters I'm used to fighting are digital...Or human." He says, with a glance back to Tomoe, and grins before looking back at Kirito, "Union huh? Interesting name..And yeah, you could say I have some experience with combat zones..So this Union is a military group? Like private military or a government military?"
Karian Icefang     Karian arches an eyebrow at what Kirito says. "That is true.....I imagine Military training in the real world."
Kirito     "Neither. The Union is actually a lot of different worlds' governents in the Multiverse working together. Kind of like the U.N., but with more cohesion and every kind of world you might see in a video game being real. They helped out a lot with... some events in Japan, so I owe them a few debts."

Kirito explains this, his expression turning a little mixed near the end, but eventually he folds his arms while still peering at Reker.
Reker The man rubs his chin a little bit as Kirito explains everything to him, "So what do I have to do to sign up with them? Just like show up and go 'Yo, I can shoot at things, can I have a badge?'" He's joking, mostly, "There's no boot camp, is there? Also how much real life info do they want?"
Tomoe Tomoe says "Let him make up his own mind though Kirito it's up to him on that we were never pressured after all right?" She smirks a bit and looks down the street for a moment and she shrugs a bit. "Given what you did? Humm command would want to know who you really are to be honest."
Kirito     Doubt shines on Kirito's face - as if, for these few moments, he cannot believe Reker's taking him so seriously. "...Thanks for believing my razy story. I didn't expect someone with a military background to." He smiles though, and affirms Tomoe's explanation with a nod.

"Basically that. There's some tests, and they'll need personal information. More than that, we'll need to setup a base in Gun Gale Online for you to use with your avatar if we really went through with that."

He now settles for peering at Reker more, this time with a harder, analytical, soul-piercing gaze. He's pondering HARD about this new player that's for sure!
Reker "Hey, lets be fair." Reker says, "I'm standing in the middle of London after it just got attacked by aliens talking to people who are clearly also using avatars from a game I've never played before. I see one of two potentials here. Either you're telling the truth or I'm crazy, and since honestly even if I am crazy I wouldn't know at this point 'cause I don't feel crazy, I'm inclined to buy into your story."

He grins a little bit more, eyeing the way Kirito is looking at him from behind his sunglasses, "As far as setting up a base in GGO, I'm sure I can scout out an area to do that for you." He looks back at Tomoe, "Fair enough, I'm sure I'll be able to work with them."
Kirito     Hrmph. With an answer like that, what can Kirito do? He sprouts a mischevious, but definitely agreeing smile. "In that case, we'd better head to Union HQ just like this. You'll have to log out eventually and I don't have a GGO account to go meeting you there!" Well that could be pretty easily changed, but..

He doesn't really feel up to that...

"Getting there from here would take... about half an hour, maybe forty minutes if your vehicle's up to it!" And he seems happily eager enough to get going before this warzone turns into a busy crime scene.

"I'll tell them we're coming!" And his eyes glaze over again as he focuses on something... distant, maybe. Like he's on the phone...
Reker "Yeah, pile on in." Reker says, as he motions to the truck. It might have taken fire during the fight but it still seems to be running fine. Reker hops into the driver's seat and then motions for the other two to get in, "I suppose you'll need to tell me where to go. GPS on this thing is having a fit because it's not in GGO anymore. Suppose I'll have to sort that out."
Tomoe Tomoe laughs and tsakes a moment to bring up her menus and swaps out of plate into something more fantasy casual and moves to get into the ride with a bit of a grin on this.

"Yes, yes it's going to likely do that."
Kirito     Kirito does just that, hopping into one of the passenger seats. He'll let Tomoe have shotgun if she wants though! "Yeah, makes sense.... alright, we need to head..." A small pause for more mental communications with Yui, probably...

He does start giving directions for the warp gate. Onwards!
